I’m not that familiar with freights and trucking but when I was still employed I was trained to learn anything that my employers will ask me about. Anyway I wasn’t forced to learn it I just need to get some important details on how to search about unlimited freight posting and truck searching. It was about a proposed business that will involve freights but it was cancelled before it ever began.

Birthdays are Special

It’s almost a week now since my birthday and I’m happy to know that my friends whom I haven’t seen for so long remembered to greet me on that day! Of course my birthday wouldn’t be so special without my husband’s bunch of white roses and my kids’ little greeting cards. I’m not the kind who expects too much for a gift and even without it I’m happy. It’s the thought that counts they said so greetings or simple gestures of text, twitter and FB messages are fine. My daughter was asking me few weeks ago if I want bears for bithdays because she loves it herself. She’s very fond of stuff toys and anything that’s soft and cuddly even now that she’s a teen already. Of course I’ll love it also especially if it’s given by my loved ones. Birthdays are special days and every single thought counts.

Renovation Ideas for the House

We’re planning to divide our big house into two and my brother will be designing a duplex house to have a more flexible kind. The kids are growing up so fast and we really need to have a place of our own and because our house is so big it’s not practical to get a housing loan just to have our own home. Since our old house can accommodate two or more families we decided to make it a duplex house. Now we’re getting excited with the upcoming designs of my brother who will also look into the construction of the mentioned project.

I’m searching through ideas of kitchen Cabinets  because that’s my favorite corner of the house where I can be my own boss. I love cooking and baking and I want all my utensils and small kitchen accessories in order. I don’t want clutter that’s why I need to organize things in the cabinets. General Cleaning and Inventory

We had our general cleaning of the house today because we’re all on vacation hubby and kids will be back to school two weeks from now. We spent the whole morning sorting out old clothes, papers and threw all unnecessary things to clear up mess. When I clean I really meant cleaning up to the last dirt and mess I could see but I opt for green cleaning products if I could help it because of its safety in human and in environment too. Hunting Hobby

My cousin is very fond of hunting and bird watching when I was still young. He would go home at my Uncle’s house where I used to stay in the afternoon and he would show me his catch for the day. It’s always birds that he’s fond of hunting and I wonder now what kind of spotting scopes he’s using to be able not to miss his target. He’s really good at it but now I learned he stopped his hunting hobby and devoted his time in his farm because that’s where they get their big income. He’s a bit older than me but when I talked to him and reminisced his hunting days his face will light up at the memories. His children are all girls so nobody took after his hobby and anyway I don’t know if it’s still permissible nowadays.

Nice Thing About Teamwork

Teamwork is a work performed by a group, a team or a band. The quality of teamwork will depend on much each member will join forces and work together in using some important factors like coordination, communication, cohesion, mutual support, effort and a great balance of contributions. Without using any of these effectively there won’t be much good results and the quality of teamwork will be low. I’ve experienced working as a team and though it’s hard to work if others won’t cooperate it’s still rewarding to think that you always have someone to lean on and you have the team of your side always. 

My technical proposal team in my previous job was given an award in 1996 because of our excellent performance. It felt so good then accepting our awards because we know we really did our best. I would have been sad if it’s not a group award because all of us deserve the recognition. It surpassed my former solo awards.

Lighting changes the ambience of certain places. It highlights the beauty and brings out the best in all areas. I assumed that’s one of the reasons that the head of our town had in mind when he filled the major road with lamp posts. Well the result is beautiful and made the town brighter at night. Exchange of Phones

I’m happy that my BIL offered to give his wifi mobile phone to me and I’ll just buy him a phone with radio as he really needed it on his work. A month ago I was decided to save money for HTC windows phone but lately I told myself that I don’t really need it for now so the plan was put to shelves. It’s not the htc desire 2.2 that I’ve been saving for but if someone will give me I would be happy too.

The phone is actually not just a simple wifi phone as it can open up my blogs fast and I hope that wherever I go I’ll be able to post some little entries on my blogs. For now I’m thankful that some people around me are thinking of what they can do to help me in my work. They just don’t know that I’m super touched by their ways and thoughts.

Effects of Drinking While at Work and Driving

I’ve always observed traffic and road rules since I’m old enough to be aware of that. I don’t like breaking the rules because I feel that doing it can affect others. It always feels good when you’re on the right track always. I’m not the perfect citizen but I try to be a good one. Simply Beautiful

Someone commented that Mom has a beautiful skin even at her golden age. Well I should say that it’s all a natural trait of Mom since she’s not having her skin treated with any products since childhood. She preferred to be simple and when she was younger and working as a school teacher she only uses face moisturizers in the morning to protect it from the harsh effect of sun and nothing more. She only put on her mild face powder and uses no makeup at all. When she retired and became so much older her skin still looks beautiful than other women her age. Now she’s commenting that I’m even simpler than her and I told her that I also want to look as simple and as beautiful when I reached her age.

Hair Care

When I attended our high school silver anniversary reunion I noticed that the boys have aged more than the girls and half of them showed signs of thinning hair in the front. Maybe that’s the reason why they looked older than the girls. Women tend to be vain in their looks and I know they care most for their skin and hair. I don’t see any girl classmate with hair problems, maybe those with thin hair problems are using shampoo for thinning hair for women. It’s really a wonderful thing for me because I also have thin hair and who knows I will need it in the future. As of now I only have one or two grey hairs unlike women my age and I’m thankful that with that I don’t need to color my hair, not yet!

Careful Planning on Investment

I’ve talked to my former office mate and he asked if I’m going to pursue my meat product business. Before I finally quit my job last year I really have plans for it all. Due to my online works and busy schedule it was not put into action and didn’t materialize. Security and Safety for Our Dear Seniors

We all want our old folks at home to be safe always but we could never be there for them at all times. When I was still in corporate employment I always call and check my Mom especially when she’s sick. My kids were at school in the morning until afternoon so she’s alone by herself during those times. Often I would take a leave from my work to watch over her because we’re worried that she might slip or fall and no one will see and assist her. I know many will relate to my story because many families have at least 1 or two seniors in the house. I used to hear that there are medical alerts that we can install in the house to ensure safety of my Mom when she’s alone. I just want her to feel she has something to turn to when she feels she needs help when I’m out of the house.

I’m glad that they’ve discovered the safety features of  medical alert because it doesn’t only give first aid help to seniors but peace of mind to their families who can’t be there for their old folks at all times. Giving Me Enough Blessing

I’m happy with all the blessing that I’m receiving since I quit my job and concentrate on doing online works only. My present work has given me enough income to support my family’s needs. I even coerced DH into resigning from his job because it’s giving him too much hard work and his health has suffered from it. Now he’s studying for a degree course and the last semester proved that he’s bright enough to compete with younger students. CarI’ve always love having carpeted floors but it takes so much effort just to maintain cleanliness of carpets in the house and office especially if the place is a large area. Cyber Monday

My twitter dashboard keeps on making tweet notices the other day because one store in US keeps on posting discounted items. I had to see it myself and was amazed that prices could be that low. Even my dream windows phone was offered 25% off but for two days only and it ended on the 18th. I could very well imagine if Cyber Monday would come and everybody will be waiting for the discounted sale of their favorite gadgets and appliances. It’s not every day that stores would offer low prices and deals so I’m sure many would just wait for the big day.

Life Begins at 40

Life begins at 40 they say and women should enjoy life when they reached that age. For me office employment should end at 40 years of age in order to enjoy not just life but quality time with your family especially your kids. As my experience taught me my job takes so much time away from my family so when the time comes that I’m confident I can earn online by writing I immediately resigned from my job. 

It took me months of praying and planning; praying for the signs that God will give me and planning my future financial setup so I can adjust to a life out of corporate work. Having a stable job for 16 continuous years gave me reasons not to leave my work just for some petty reasons. I never quit on working until I decided that when I reached forty I will leave employment and put up a business or when I saved some more I could also buy gold bullion to ensure that what I’m buying will give me an assurance that it will yield profits in the coming years. Sudden Change

I was surprised to see an old colleague walking at the mall when I visited the store to look for bags. He’s my officemate in my previous work in consultancy firm and we’ve never seen each other for long. Future Investment Plans

A former office friend asked me once where I should invest my money after resigning from my 16-year old employment. I actually told her that I’m going to put up a meat products shop after the feasibility studies I’m making then. I believe in careful planning especially if high finances are at stake. Now we didn’t pursue that meat shop but it’s still in our future plans. Gen’s Simple Things

Gen loves to go home during lunch break because she loves eating my freshly-cooked meals and she can just bring few school books and notebooks in the morning. At first we were hesitant as it might rob her of leisure break from her class but she insisted. Now I got used to her and look forward to wait for her so we can have lunch together. DH also goes home whenever one instructor failed to arrive at the university. 

I just told DD Gen to have some protection on her head whenever she goes home to avoid sun’s heat at noon. I was planning to Buy Hats for her as she didn’t want to use her other hats for fear of teasing from her classmates. Some of the hats she has are those we use for our camp meetings and photo sessions. She told me that she wants simpler styles and make so she’ll be unnoticed by some of her classmates. She’s always like that simple and yet choosy, shy but very competitive and doesn’t want too much attention.

Opportunities after Corporate Employment

I’ve experienced working in various corporate offices for nearly two decades where I had different kinds of job. In all my jobs I learned lots of things which made me stronger, skilled, knowledgeable and more matured in my decisions and work approach. I also learned that it can’t give me the assurance of better life even if I spent more than 8 hours of work. I’ve dedicated my energy and knowledge on all of the jobs I had but it never gave me financial freedom to support my family’s needs beyond the basic essentials. After spending 16 years in my past employment I realized that working in office employment on the supervisory positions will not help me fulfil my dreams for my kids.

I thanked God for giving me stable job for several years and for helping me to decide whether to stay or quit. He guided me into learning ways on how I can be at my family’s beck and call while earning money for their needs. It’s such a blessing to work at home. Now I’m saving some of my earnings to plan for future investment on gold bar, some other precious metals, maybe house and lot, a small business and many other stable investment for financial backup when my work is not that at its peak. I want to invest on bankable kinds or the one which will give a sure high profit return on my capital. It’s still early for me but I’m going to need some information about it.

Avoiding Sickness and Hospitals

I’m happy that we’re all fine now free from the usual sickness prevailing in our community. I’m taking precautionary measures now while the two younger kids are still on vacation. Our New Pre-owned Car

I’ve been blogging several months back that we’re always hiring a cab whenever we attend Sunday fellowship church service and how it’s giving us headache most of the times. Cab drivers are sometimes abusive of their passengers. Some of them have tampered meters that give us inaccurate high meter reading. Well aside from the meter problem most of the taxi drivers would talk to us to add certain amount of money aside from the flag down rate and the meter reading. That’s too much and if you don’t agree with them they will not let you hire them. It’s illegal and we can’t do something about it but be patient to find someone that will not ask for a big amount. This happens when we’re going home as it’s easier to hire a taxi or cab from our location going to our church. DH and I are actually looking for a big compartment car that we can carry on our long travel to highlands on summer and December camp meeting. Physical and Mental Growth

DH and the kids are now busy with cleaning the house. We’re all here in the house because it’s a holiday. They’re helping each other and making fun of it. It’s nice working and having fun at the same time. I’m preparing something yummy for their morning snack. Of course the little boy won’t be left behind as he asked for small tasks that he can do. 

He’s always telling me that when he grows up he’ll help me in the chores that I’m doing in the house. He’s small compared to the boys his age but I noticed that he’s grown a little bit taller this month. I was thinking if he should get hgh when he reached teens because of his slow growth but now I realized kids have their own growth period. We should only be patient to observe and monitor their growing moments not only in physical attributes but in mental aspects as well.

I love working at home because I can manage my time depending on the requirement of my job and the needs of my family. When I was still working in my previous job I don’t have time for my workout exercises that’s why I felt so weak and not fit. My work eats up most of my quality hours and when I arrived home I was tired and worn out. It’s my kids who give me extra energy to work in the house until midnight. Early to Bed

I’m happy that for several days now I’m having quite a good sleep meaning I don’t spend several hours working until dawn. Relaxing Place in the House

I’ve been on my most hectic schedule last week and until now I can feel the stress, excitement and everything that came with my kid’s school competition and activities. It’s like I’m back to my world where every day is spent on my usual offline and online tasks. It’s so exciting to be where your child is on every competition that she joins but it’s also relaxing to be in your good old routine. Now I’m into making myself healthy with my healthy meals and exercise regimen. I didn’t enroll into any aerobics or gym workout class but I just take it from online link.

My daughter was absent from school yesterday because she has fever and colds. It came as a surprise to us when she suddenly told us that she’s got hot temperature. We were at the church service and I just put some cold towel in her head. Like Sisters

My niece and my eldest daughter are almost the same age, same height and built. They don’t look like cousins because May has chinky eyes and Ruth has deep set eyes like his Dad but they get along so well. Now that they’re both teens they can relate with each other very well when they talked about high school life, clubs, activities, friends, crushes and even teenage acne products that they heard from their classmates. If you’ll see them you’ll think that they’re sisters because when they talk they giggle, smile and laugh at the same time. They both go to the same school that’s why I’m confident that May will guide and assist Ruth in every way she can. Anyway she’s like an elder sister because she’s two years ahead of Ruth and she’s so kind and such a dear.

My cousin lived in our house for about 3 years that’s why we’re really close to each other; she’s like one of our family even if she’s only a second cousin only. 

Anyway talking about life and work she suggested that I invest on planting some crops on our land so when the kids started their college we will have some backup for financial expenses. She’s an engineer but she opted to retire and put up a meat products shop. Her profession now becomes her part-time job because she enjoys having a business of her own. We talked some other kind of investment in the future and she was asking about the veracity of buying gold coins for collection and investment as well. She wants to invest if she will have a high returns for her capital. She wants to be sure that she’ll be getting her money’s worth on it.

Planning to Build Small Cottage House

I was talking to my cousin this afternoon about building a small vacation house in our province. My brother suggested it first and maybe we’ll talk about this thing in the next few months. We have a house in the town proper which is being cared for by my cousin. They lived in the house since we moved to my father’s town until now that her children have bought their own homes. But we really wanted a place in the farm to stay when we’re on vacation so we’re thinking of having a small cottage style house where we’ll put some nice cabin beds, wooden living room set, barn wood dining set and many others. We want it to look like a country house or something to that effect. How I wish we could make our plans push as soon as possible. It’s nice to wake up in the morning and see the sun shining with the fields and mountain in your window view.

Creative Friend

I’ve been sorting out old things in our stock room and found some old precious memoirs of my school days. I remember putting them all in one box last year for safety because I was avoiding sudden floods then and putting them on the upper floors would ensure safe keeping. It uncovers past happy and memorable days especially the cards that I received from close friends in school including recycled Christmas cards from one friend that used to experiment doing creative things from old stuff. He love giving his original creations to his classmates and even sells some of them to make some money out of it. I wonder where he is now. Maybe he has a nice art shop now.

Security of Gadgets

I’m again looking at various sites selling high tech gadgets and innovative products. Of course I can’t help browsing iPad sites, who wouldn’t dream of having one. Well it’s too expensive for me so I guess I have to content myself on window shopping only. Although I can save funds for it I know that there are priorities in life that should be taken care first like the kids’ education and our newly-bought pickup from my dear brother. I was actually informed that there are locally made ones in one country but there’s no ipad warranty for a year. The manufacturer only warrants for one month only, well if ever I’ll want one I want the original because I would want to enjoy using it for years and I will surely get insurance for it. That’s for safety and security of gadgets.

The Value of Gold

Sometimes our hobbies can give us considerable amount of money when we least expect it. My friend collects the same old coins as I have but when an old coin collector approached and offered to buy her collections she gave some. They were having some problems then because her sister needs big amount of money for her last tuition fee before she graduates. She sold it for a good amount that saved her family from thinking where will they get money from. Although she lost half of her most precious collections she will always remember that those old coins paved the way for her sister’s college graduation. Actually she didn’t know that she could raise that amount by selling her old coins. 

 

She’s now collecting old coins again and contemplating on buying gold coins because she realized the value of gold. She’s thinking that it may save them again in the next few years when they need immediate cash. Gold is a sure investment because it increases its value over the years which will give the collector high profit returns for his capital.

The Risks of Work

It’s rewarding to have a stable job because you can rely upon your salary for your basic needs in the house and your family’s needs. I’ve experienced to be employed for 16 long years and that job helped me support my family needs. I was grateful for my employer for the trust he has given me while I was employed there. I just need to leave my corporate life for a much needed call to attend to my responsibilities of a mother and a daughter. I have to take care of my children and to guide my Mom in some things. 

It’s good if your employer knows how to take care of your needs and rights as an employee unlike those who employed their workers in industries involved in asbestos because they let their staff be exposed in dangerous asbestos without proper dissemination of information that it’s risky. Now all those workers who became victims of asbestos should get Mesothelioma lawyer to help them get fair justice for the sickness incurred from exposure to asbestos. Investing While Working

When I’m still working in my previous job I used to talk with my long-time friend in the company who is a lot older than me in the company. He’s staying there because he didn’t know what to do when he left the corporate world. He’s saving money for the time that he’ll not be able to work. I told him that as early as now even while he’s still employed he can invest on some sure investment like house and lot or buy bullion from USGold Bureau and you’re sure to have high returns of capital. Gold and precious metals are known to increase their values over the years so it must be a real good investment.

:Friday Fill-Ins#193

So...here we go!

1. My back pain was healed by my Mom's massage therapy and caring hands of course!

2. We're planning to bring the little boy to wildlife and parks, a mini zoo in the heart of the city.  We can also have picnic there.

3. Leaves are falling all around, and I love the beauty and smell of the dry and fallen leaves of fall.

4. It's best if we let the bad memories be drowned in the sea of  forgetfulness.

5. Healing is forever if it's from God.

6. Attending mini-reunion and meeting up school friends  is what I've been up to lately!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to reducing my long list of tasks if I will not be able to finish them, tomorrow my plans include teaching Gen with basic operations of MS Word for her contest and meeting up blogger friends and Sunday, I want to concentrate on my Sunday service, no work!

After The Chills

I had some chills last week. I’m always like that every time I’m over fatigued and lack of sleep. Sometimes I wish there’s an electric fireplace in our house to keep me warm when I’m cold. They say that chills are indication or symptoms that I have sickness inside my body but I really don’t feel I have it. Actually I think the chills serve as my body’s outlet for whatever stress and tiredness I had for the day because after the chills I’ll be sleeping soundly and will wake up feeling so good. I don’t want to think that it has some connection to sickness or whatever unhealthy symptoms. I know God will always take care of me.
