Exploring the Best of South Carolina

>> Tuesday, February 14, 2017

South Carolina is a beautiful state that has so much to offer. Whether you are simply travelling through on your way to sunny Florida or planning to stay awhile, this state will leave a lasting impression. The young and old alike will find plenty of activities to do and sites to see in the Palmetto State.

The Rugged Outdoors

This state is the home of a wide range of terrains and landscapes which makes it the perfect place to explore. Here you can take a scenic ride along the Reedy River or explore on foot the Swamp Rabbit Trails of Greeneville. You can take on the challenge of the Chattooga River rapids, and you can hike the paths of the Blue Ridge Foothills. South Carolina even hosts guided hunting trips like those at Cedar Knoll Hunting Lodge in Fairfax.

The Beautiful Beaches

The name South Carolina immediately brings to mind the beauty of Myrtle Beach with its 60 miles of sandy shores. Here you can enjoy celebrity golf courses or simply stroll along the boardwalk where you’ll discover arcades, souvenir shops, and restaurants serving local seafood dishes. You may also think of Hilton Head when planning a South Carolina vacation. You can wander through the Coastal Discovery Museum or the Harbour Town Lighthouse Museum with their historic buildings and themed gardens, and you won’t want to miss the Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge. Here you will discover some of the state’s most intriguing wildlife such as alligators, deer, and a variety of bird species.

Historical Sites

South Carolina made it possible for the American Patriots to achieve their military victory just when they most needed it. They also guided the South into the Civil War. This is why the Palmetto State is home to so many historical sites and attractions such as Fort Sumter, Cowpens National Battlefield, and Isaac Haynes burial spot. A trip across South Carolina is an adventure in history with stops at battlefields, historic plantations, and a multitude of memorials.

Whether you can only visit for one single day or plan to stay for an extended period, you will go home knowing just how meaningful South Carolina is. Here you’ll discover just what it took to create our great nation as well as how beautiful it can be.

Reasons Why You Should Rent a Villa for Your Next Vacation

>> Friday, December 14, 2012

Many people wish and hope that they can afford to stay in a nice, luxurious resort and spa. If you always wanted to live it up like the celebrities do, then you need to visit the Preferred Escapes website to see what luxury villas they have to offer. You can rent your own luxury condo or villa when you are planning your next vacation. Do you want to whisk yourself away to a country far away? If so, then they have many places you can choose from that are beautiful tropical paradises. You and your loved one will enjoy spending every waking moment on the beautiful, white sandy beaches that line the coast of the islands.

You Don't Have to Do Any Work

When you book your vacation in a warm climate, you can stay in a luxury rental unit and not worry about anything. You can have maids do your laundry, clean the unit and wait on your family hand and foot if you would like. You can also have a professional chef to cook all your meals so you don't have to head out to a restaurant for every meal. This will save you a lot of money if you want to rent a luxury rental unit but don't have the money like a celebrity does. You can feel as though you are a celebrity when you wake up in the morning and look out over your own private beach area. If you decide to rent a luxury rental unit, you can ask your closest friends if they would want to pitch in for some of the rent and each person can have their own room. This is much more cost effective if you want to live it up like a celebrity but don't have the cash to pay for an entire luxury villa.

Things You Can Do During Your Stay

There are many things you can do when you stay in a luxury villa. First off, you'll be flying to a different country, which means you can tour all the local hotspots and historical sites. You can also go swimming, lay out on the beach, and dine in the finest restaurants. You can head to the clubs at night with your friends or you can relax in your hot tub while gazing out at the sunset. You will be fully relaxed once you're ready to fly back home after you stay in a luxury villa.

Spending Long Weekends Near the Mountains

>> Saturday, June 23, 2012

I love weekends because we’re all free from work and school activities. This is the only time that family can eat, play and bond together for the whole day without the pressure of workload and assignments from school. On other times we would spend the weekends in my MIL’s house because they’re located near the mountains and going there is like having a vacation in the province except that it only takes us more than an hour to be there. When we go there for a couple of days on long weekends we pack our clothes, personal things and extra foam mattress so we can sleep comfortably anywhere in that house.

The whole ground floor of the house is air-conditioned so sleeping on foams on any corner of the house would be so comfortable and convenient. They just turned it on when we’re there as it would be so costly to have the whole house air-conditioned and we only do that on hot or summer days. Anyway when you go outside at night you’ll feel the cold breeze around the area and it’s not that surprising because they live near the mountains. The kids love the place and when they’re free from homework on long weekends we grab the opportunity to spend our free time there.

Vacation Places

>> Wednesday, May 9, 2012

Some of my friends are on their way to their vacation destination. They want to make the best out of their kids’ summer vacation and to indulge in relaxing in beautiful places here and abroad. We also had our vacation last month but it was only near the mountainous town of my MIL. Of course I would want a real vacation someday near famous amusement parks or in the Caribbean beach resorts but for now I content myself on browsing and drooling over Disney vacation homes, Orlando attractions and some other interesting vacation packages available there.

Well for now we’re happy with our swimming in one of the resorts in the nearby town and hope to go to some other interesting spot on the nearest holiday when I will be free from work. Before the end of the year we might get back to Baguio and spend 4 days there. Hope plans will push so I can rest and relax.

Freestyle New York

>> Tuesday, March 29, 2011

My friend was excited to see her sisters after a year of not seeing them. They were based in New York for several years now and she makes it a point to visit them at least once a year. She now owns a small architectural consultancy firm which has clients abroad and her business is going so well that she can afford to be on travels frequently. She loves tours and New York Attractions seem to be her favorite itinerary whenever she’s on vacation with her sisters. She values her time so much that she’s always taking advantage of tour packages to be able to round up her favorite places in New York in scheduled hours.

Now Freestyle New York makes it so convenient and easy for tourists and sightseers to see NYC their way. They offer one flat rate for multiple double-decker bus tours, tickets to museums and cruises, airport transfers and vouchers for dining. You just pick 3 or 5 menu items then you can use it to their list of entities. No second thoughts on the place to see as the tickets are accepted at all entities so you will not be pressured on the list of places to see. You’ll enjoy their Freestyle menu and go where you want and when you want.

Grand Cayman Vacation Villas

>> Tuesday, February 1, 2011

The breeze is getting colder these days on this tropical country and I love it. It’s not frequent that we get cold weather like this and I know this will change next month preparing for the summer season. Speaking of summer we’re thinking of having a family vacation in the oceanfront hometown of my husband. Hope the kids will be available soon so we can get an early schedule. I always look forward staying for some days near the beach; I guess it’s always like that for me. I would always choose beach vacation than roaming around various places.

The idea of staying in some nice Grand Cayman vacation villas is a treat for me much more if I’m really there to enjoy beautiful beachfront villas with my family. It’s always been a dream vacation for me to stay in places like that and this one has a lot to offer to complete your dream. With direct flights, superb roads, nice facilities, great accommodations, internet access, cable tv, rental cars and help services you can request. It’s like having the convenience and comfort of your home while vacationing.

Planning to Build Small Cottage House

>> Monday, October 4, 2010

I was talking to my cousin this afternoon about building a small vacation house in our province. My brother suggested it first and maybe we’ll talk about this thing in the next few months. We have a house in the town proper which is being cared for by my cousin. They lived in the house since we moved to my father’s town until now that her children have bought their own homes. But we really wanted a place in the farm to stay when we’re on vacation so we’re thinking of having a small cottage style house where we’ll put some nice cabin beds, wooden living room set, barn wood dining set and many others. We want it to look like a country house or something to that effect. How I wish we could make our plans push as soon as possible. It’s nice to wake up in the morning and see the sun shining with the fields and mountain in your window view.

Remembering Life in the Province

>> Monday, September 13, 2010

I’m not much educated or experienced about riding horses even if I used to ride on it with my brother and uncle. My uncle used to put soft baskets on each side of the horse and tucked my brother and me on each basket so we can go with him on the foot of the mountain near our town. We know if we’re heading on far distance because he would wear his riding breeches and put on his boots before riding.

When I think of my memorable childhood I wish that my kids would also have a vacation in our hometown province so they will experience living in the rural areas. They will surely have some fun swimming in the cold waters of the real rivers and not that of the man-made swimming pools in the resorts. Well my Mom and DH were talking about it last week and maybe we could fit a week’s vacation in our schedule on semestral break.

Relaxing A Bit

>> Saturday, June 12, 2010

We’re having a two-day vacation here in MIL’s house with the rest of DH’s family. The kids are enjoying their stay here with a nice view of the mountains very near the village. After lunch I find myself doing nothing and when I tried to sleep I can’t. I thought of my tasks and my new blog so I just peeked in here and checked on my mails. I also had the chance to get some reads about xyphedrine side effects and noted that it’s bad for people with hypertension, diabetes and asthma.

I have to tell it to my friends so they could be warned of the effect it could do to their health. I just told them to take the healthy diet meal I recommended to them as they don’t have to worry about any side effect. Having a slimmer body need not be expensive and risky. DH just passed by and told me to take a rest now as next week would be a busy time for me to relax.

Tempted to Eat

>> Friday, June 4, 2010

We’re all complete in the house since Wednesday and I’m slowly moving away from my cleansing diet. I don’t know now if I’ll need diet pills in few weeks’ time. I’m taking half cup of rice at lunch and dinner and can’t do something about it because it feels so good to eat when DH is at home. I can’t go on with eating veggies and fruits alone because I’m inspired to cook different pork and chicken recipes everyday. It’s always nice to cook for the whole family and eat with them too. so there goes my healthy meal diet plan. I’ll try to get back to eating fish, veggies and fruits only next week after hubby’s vacation.

Family Vacation This Month

>> Thursday, January 21, 2010

Since I had a bad fall last month I’m not the usual me in everything that I do. I’m weaker now and having my energy lasting for some hours only. I used to be a very energetic person and I do my chores super fast that my family would always call me super mom. Now I feel slightly bad that I can’t do things the way I can previously that I’m planning to have a vacation sometime this month or next month. Since I can’t have it on my own as I also want my kids and hubby with me I’m planning a weekend family vacation so they can come without affecting their school activities and hubby’s work. I know with proper sleep, rest and relaxation I can bring back my body’s health back to its normal condition.

If only we have more funds for our vacation I would also love a vacation somewhere along the beach resorts like in Karisma Resorts where they offer family vacation packages including good gourmet foods, luxury accommodations, entertainment, sports and the beautiful scenic view of the sea from where you’re staying in. Beautiful isn’t it? Well it’s not an impossible thing, who knows!

Feels So Blessed with My Present Job

>> Thursday, January 7, 2010

With my present condition now after the holiday seasons I just can’t do many tasks as I used to be. My Mom is helping me with massage therapy almost every other day and with that I’m feeling a lot better. I’m just sad that it’s the start of the year and I can’t compete with grabbing for more opportunities as my health is not that good. I can only work for some given time and after that I need to rest. My office friend whom I’m chatting the other day told me that I’m lucky to have an online job that I can do on flexible time that even if I’m sick I can still work on my desired time. With that thought in my mind now sadness turned to feeling blessed that it’s indeed a good job for me. I feel lucky now that my job is just perfect for me, that even if I’m not feeling good I can still attend to my kids and work at the same time.

Now I’m feeling a lot better than last week and keeping myself healthy and fit with my regular menu of three varieties of fruit a day. All I need now is a week-long vacation on some nice place like Outer Banks rentals, actually because that one is far from where I live I appreciate having my rest vacation in a province few miles away from my home.

Getting Ready for the Long Travel

>> Monday, December 21, 2009

Few days from now we’ll be heading to our camp site on the highlands of Indang, Cavite near Tagaytay City and we’re so happy that despite of not having our car restored to its normal state we were able to hire my brother’s extra car. It’s actually a better one as it’s a pickup car that’s so perfect to carry heavy loads and if you can imagine our essentials, food, beddings and clothings for a four-day stay at the camp you would probably say that it’s the best to carry on long and heavy baggage travel.

Last Sunday our church mate who knows a lot about car maintenance checked and fixed our break, tail and park lights. We’ve also noticed a not-so good wiper so we’re also fixing them up. We should be thinking and checking all possible fixing as we don’t want to catch trouble on the road. We always follow the blow bag rule which is the acronym that stands for checking up battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air (for tires) and gasoline whenever we travel for long distance destination. It’s also best if we can have travel insurance for a safer and worry-free travel local and international.

Vacation Break from Daily Life Routine

>> Sunday, December 6, 2009

Sometimes we tend to spend almost all of our time on our work and household matters that we neglect our duties as husband and wife to each other. It’s really a common situation especially if you have a busy work schedule and plenty of kids to attend to. Your work and daily stress also add up to make matters worse. It seems like you’re just living on a daily life routine nothing new and of course nothing special to look forward to. It’s not a matter of how much you love your kids or how much time you want to spend with them it’s just that couples should really take some time off from life’s daily problems and worries in order to reflect and revive the value of their relationship.

It’s very important for couples to have a break from monotonous program of life or they’ll end up looking for other diversions. And for a break I would suggest a week vacation in one of the most romantic vacation places in Mexico. Karisma Hotels offers a romantic vacation riviera maya, a truly exciting vacation with white sandy beach, excellent accommodations, perfect gourmet foods, nice entertainment, spa services and many other things to enjoy on a vacation with your partner or with the whole family. It can be a dream vacation for couples and families.

Spend Your Vacation in Egypt!

>> Monday, November 23, 2009

My SIL is a very hardworking woman and after a year-long overwork she would spend vacation on wherever her fancies may take her. Because she lives in Great Britain and she miss the tropical country where she was born she always spend her vacation by the beach mostly here in the Philippines or in some countries with splendid beach vacation package. She loves traveling to different places where she can really see magnificent view and rest her tired body in a beach vacation house. I keep thinking that maybe all working individuals are the same in some ways that after working so hard they really need some break from it.

It’s a kind of relaxation for employees and workers when they spend some days or week away from the bustling city of business districts. Since we can’t have full resting time in our house we should take our vacation away from home. I learned from SIL that it’s great to spend vacation in Egypt as the weather there is great with an all-year round sunshine and plenty of tourist spots. Actually they’ve spent a month vacation there four years ago and been planning to be back again. Anyway you can take advantage of their cheap Egypt Holidays when you booked for May, June, November and December. You can be sure to have affordable flights and accommodations.

There are many ways on how you can keep within your budget limit as it’s very affordable to eat in the restaurants there. You can just book for just a bed and your breakfast and spend the whole day and evening visiting valley of the kings, the very famous Pyramids of Egypt and have dinner in superb rest. If you’re the sporty type you can join the golf courses or have some scuba diving. Great vacation for all types of people. Well just visit ULookUBook and book your dream Eqypt holiday now!

Vail Ski Rentals

>> Friday, October 23, 2009

While we’re having different kinds of weather here sometimes hot and sometimes rainy or stormy on some areas the other side of the globe is experiencing very low degree temperature. That’s why you can be wet or hot here and be super cool when you travel abroad. The rich can choose to have the climate they want as many of them have houses in different parts of the world. They would just plan their vacation and they didn’t have to bear the indefinite weather of their country. Some are just lucky enough to have landed a better working opportunity that gave them better climate country but for me I still love it here no matter what the condition and climate is.

I just mentioned the seasons and temperature because when it’s winter times it’s also the season for skiing. The sport of skiing is a very well known sport around the globe. The skis were believed to have evolved from the old generation of Ice Age where they used it for hunting together with spear and bow of course.

Anyway modern skiing is a kind of sports that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Many of them plan a vacation in North American ski resorts and hire a vacation package complete with ski and snowboard rentals in shops like Ski Butlers to enjoy a full skiing vacation with their family. Ski Butler is full service shop for ski and snowboard rentals and they’ve known for the most convenient kind of service as they have delivery service. You can have your reservation of your dream vacation in Vail Ski Rentals in the comfort of your own home and you can have it delivered right into your living room. Very convenient indeed, just right for busy people and those who didn’t have the time to go over the shops. This way vacationing in one of the most beautiful ski resort is going to be easy and hassle-free with the best customer service that will take care of everything you need for your family vacation.

Beach Vacation Plans

>> Saturday, August 22, 2009

It was a very busy and somewhat stressful day as I’ve run a lot of errands for the day; the stressful thing about my day is thinking about my online tasks and not having the time to do it. I’m just happy that Redge and I finally decided on the Sunday school chairs that I wanted to buy last week. We’re lucky to secure the stocks and colors that we need. We’ve just transferred to a new church location and I thought some kiddie monoblock chairs would be nice for the kids in school; they will surely love using it in Sunday school.

I’m glad that despite the busy weekend schedule I finally made it to my PC and started my online tasks. Sometimes I feel that being a work-at-home Mom is a lot busier than my office world, well thinking positively I’ve proven myself that I can do various things at one time and I can take care of my kids by myself while working to help hubby with financial matters. He told me that he really appreciates helping him but he wanted me to rest early in the night as my eyes would suffer from the stress of too much exposure on the screen.

Actually we were discussing that if only he can apply for a leave we can rest for a while and go with our vacation plans, no not as luxurious as romantic vacation riviera maya but as relaxing and as peaceful I might say. Of course it would be on white-sand beach only as the sea and the sky above it has a calming effect on me especially when I get to watch the sunset. That’s what I really need, a beach vacation.

Outer Banks Rental

>> Monday, August 10, 2009

Wow I never thought that being a Mom can be so busy that it surpassed my work when I’m still in the office. Yes I’m just referring on my kids’ school activities which are taking so much of my time. I’m happy that I can assist and concentrate on them now. They have so many activities including that inter-school academic competition which sometimes need to give some time dedication. I even went with Gen last Friday on Math Camp and I had a great time with few friends there, also the parents of Gen’s classmates. It’s a different feeling that I felt last Friday, I somehow thanked that I’ve already resigned from my office job or else my kids wouldn’t be so active now. I felt that they gained strength from knowing that I’m always there for them whenever and wherever unlike when I was working away from home that my time is only limited.

As their periodicals is also approaching fast we really have a very hectic schedule and I’m longing for next week when I can rest from too much school activities and concentrate for awhile on writing inspirational posts on my sites. I’m also hoping for some nice and relaxing vacation on a place by the beach like what I saw on Outer Banks rentals vacation packages. It really excites me seeing those accommodations they have which provides a nice vacation rental where you can enjoy the beach, savor the convenience of a rental homes and cottages that will make you relaxed and comfortable while enjoying the beautiful scenic view of dunes and ocean. What a lovely thought!

Visiting New York’s Best Places

>> Thursday, August 6, 2009

My friend who has resigned from our company was doing great in other countries doing some consulting on architectural projects. Once in two months she travels in Asian countries to supervise her projects and to meet her clients abroad. She was very happy with what she’s doing right now as she really wants traveling around places. Now she told me through instant messaging that she’s vacationing in her sister’s house in New York. Her elder sister is a permanent resident there for more than years now and she wanted to see her sisters once in a while. They miss each other as the elder sister seldom visits her family here in the Philippines.

Since my architect friend wanted to enjoy her vacation in the Big Apple she was treated by her sister to New York Sightseeing so she’ll get to see the beautiful views of New York city and its nice attractions. She joined the sightseeing tours of Citysights which offers exciting packages of enjoying museum visits, harbor cruises, helicopter tours, motor coach trips and many more. Believe me she really enjoyed the hop-on, hop-off bus tours they provided. Being an architect by profession and artist by heart led her to seek the lovely sight of magnificent buildings and some of the popular sights there like Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Uptown/Downtown Manhattan City and Top of the Rock. As she told me the places she visited it’s as if I’ve been there to. She’s really having a wonderful vacation because of sightseeing New York’s best places.

Bargain Holidays for Your Vacation

>> Tuesday, August 4, 2009

When you think of holidays and vacations you always associate it with expensive finances that’s why to some people they think they cannot afford it even if they’ll save for one year. This is the usual dilemma of those who want to relax and enjoy a few days off their routine schedule. Even if they want to have a relaxing vacation they don’t even plan for fear of not having enough budgetary allocation for it. People put their basic budget on the essential necessities first then if there’s a little savings on their monthly income they saved it for whatever they plan to have, be it appliances, properties or spend it on recreations. If there’s no excess or there’s only little left from the salary vacation will have to wait no matter how stressed we are from working hard.
