Gold Coins Collection for Investment

>> Monday, August 30, 2010

My Mom has collection of old coins since she’s a child but due to war she only kept those that she collected after the war. Still those remaining gold coins are priceless to her as it brings memories of her siblings and her parents. Her only remaining brother died last year of old age and her remaining immediate are us. She gave all her old coins to me because I showed the same liking for her collection. I ventured on other collection when I was a student but I grew out of them except for the old coins which I kept intact up to now. I learned that some people collect gold bullion because they find it not only as a good habit but a sure investment as well. I know that since the old generation gold and other precious metals proved to be a kind that appreciate values over the years so investing on various forms of gold can be a tangible investment.

Remembering DSI Friendly Bowling Games

>> Saturday, August 28, 2010

I suddenly miss playing bowling when I learned that one of my friends is continually doing it for years. I started it on the regular basis on our company tournament where our employer gives us allowances and prizes when your performance is great like when you’re the striker of the day. It was called Friendly Games by our boss because he intended it to be. He wanted everyone to join even if they’re not professional players and so we joined. It was a very memorable tournament for me because I was once or twice given the striker of the day award and became a member a player in the Best of the Best though I’m just an amateur player then. My coach was good and very patient with me that’s why it was easy for me to learn techniques. Now as I fondly remembering those days I found out that I had no single picture of that tournament. Wish I could find one!

And...here we go!

1. You do your thing; I do mine and sometimes we'll do other projects together as a team.

2. My daughter's condition is what's been on my mind on and off all day while she's competing for her Filipino essay writing contest. She has stomach pains but she didn't want to abandon her duty as school's representative.  She was not picked in the top 5 but she's done her best.  Now she's resting now and hope she'll be ok later.

3. Remember when I used to do good things for them they just ignore it.  Well some people are really like that.
4. Cooking, blogging and photography are three of my favorite obsessions :-)

5. During the last year's birthday of my little boy we went to the mall where DH is working and we celebrated his birthday there at the new SM North EDSA Sky Dome .  DH was so happy that we dropped by his office store and he showed us around the newly renovated mall.

6. My kids puts a smile on my face when they're happily playing.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to looking after and caring for my daughter, tomorrow my plans include beating up the deadline of one company for some bonus and Sunday, I want to plan about my little boy's birthday!

Coping Up with Crisis

>> Tuesday, August 24, 2010

With today’s great need for financial improvement we should be smart in spending our hard-earned money and learn to love our work no matter how humble our position is. Count yourself lucky that you have a job that will help you feed your family and give their basic needs in life. Well if your income is not enough to support your family you can always think of something that can add to your family’s income like buying some jewelry making supplies to start learning how to make jewelries or having extra freelance works. I’ve seen many families now are trying their best to cope with up the worldwide crisis and they come up with ingenuity of turning their skills and talents into money.

Work is a Blessing!

>> Monday, August 23, 2010

"Oh, no, it's Monday again!" "Thank God it's Friday!" Do you dread Monday mornings and look forward to weekends? Do you find your work boring or burdensome? So you might ask, "How can work be a blessing when it reminds me of a Nazi concentration camp, and my pay is not commensurate to my ability and input?"

Why is work necessary? Because the earth was cursed after Adam and Eve disobeyed God, the consequence of that sin was the cursing of the ground which man needs to till until he dies. Since the earth is cursed, work and life is not a walk in the park. Nevertheless, work is a blessing, not a curse.

Since the call of duty to our boss and the Lord are one and the same, here are a few practical ways to honor God through our current boss in the workplace 1) If you should come to the boss with a problem, bring a solution too. That's the reason why you were hired (2) Always arrive on time or earlier. (3) Work with integrity (4) Complete the work thoroughly and on time and lastly, Never say, "It ain't my job."

The blessing of blessing others. Work is the means by which God blesses us financially so we can meet our basic needs and fulfill some of our dreams. God blesses us with the means to earn income so we could help others and look after the needs of others than our own. So we must never taken our work for granted. We must love each working day of our job.

Enjoy A Beautiful and Peaceful Community

>> Friday, August 20, 2010

Home is where our heart is as I always fonder in my thoughts so I really make sure that my home is comfortable, in peaceful community and accessible to all the necessities of life such as church, school, market, shopping complex, park and other places that we need in our daily living. I can say I’m lucky to live in a place near the city so it’s peaceful enough that it’s a province but a 10-minute ride can take me to the nearest city and all the whims of my heart. Glad we own it and not just renting because it give us comfortable living of not paying for our place. My ancestors lived in this place since decades of years and passed it on to their descendants including us.

For those who want to live in their own house they can save their money and invest on a rent-to-own house in a peaceful community too. They should be careful in choosing the place of their would-be homes because that would be where they will raise their kids and enjoy their life with their families. This was my thought when I browsed upon a good place to live where historical landmark can take you to remember the past decades and where community and culture is very distinctive. If I have the capabilities or if I’m near the place I would invest in a place like real estate Fredericksburg Virginia because the place offers stunning lakeside retreats, great expanse of beautiful golf course, lush canopy of trees, wooden vegetation and charming villas with courtyard pools. This is definitely a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and where security is at its best. This is also perfect for those rich and famous who want some peace in their lives. Visit their site for a complete tour of their beautiful Model Homes and Home Sites.

Clear View Window Tint

>> Thursday, August 19, 2010

It’s rainy season here in this part of the world but still you won’t stand the heat when the sun shines in the middle part of the day. You have to bring protection or you’ll end withered and drained from the damaging heat of the sun. It can also rob you of energy and makes you immune from sun-related sicknesses. I learned that protective zone is really not there anymore to filter the UV rays so exposure to sun can cause health hazards.

Well not only outside your home because strong heat can penetrate your house if you don’t have protection in your windows. I guess that’s why many homes are now getting themselves safety measures like window tinting Lynchburg which uses 3M window films that offers fade and solar protection. It can solve your protection problem while giving you extreme comfort for your home and business. They also give very clear films that will still give your clear view of the scenery outside with low reflectivity. They offer the best window films because they’re the first to invent it. Every product is guaranteed with quality and backed up with a warranty. Visit their site and start protecting yourself and your home.

How Open Minded Are You?

>> Wednesday, August 18, 2010

You Are 4% Open Minded

You may be surprised to hear that you're not very open minded... and a little judgmental.
You tend to dislike others that are different from you.
While you may be open to a few new things, you don't reach far beyond what you believe.
And it's likely that you don't even want to discuss different points of view!

I'm not judgmental as I try to understand people with different views in life.  I'm actually surprised with the questions I answered because it's about being open minded to bisexuality, vices, drugs, infidelity and many other negative things.  Disliking illegal and bad things doesn't mean disliking the people bec. sometimes  it's the spirit in them that you don't like not the person itself.  I don't have to favor their bad habits and vices just to be open minded.  Being open minded relates to understanding the situation of your family, friends and relatives and being able to give advices and tips on them whenever they need you.  I can discuss different points of view but I don't want debate especially on my belief and faith to God.  I want to share God's wonderful grace and not debate about it.

Dreaming for His Graduation Day

DH is so active with his studies now and I noticed that he’s really doing his best in all his subjects. He’s counting the years up to when he would graduate and start a new career totally different from his previous job. I support him in any way I can and I know he’s very happy about it. I’m looking forward to that day when he would come up the stage on his graduation day to receive his dream college diploma.

I bet he’s going to give some invitation just like the holiday invitations we usually get on special holiday seasons to his family and friends to join the happy moment of his life. Anyway that will be four years from now which is the time also for our eldest daughter to enter college. That I think is a good planning of DH because we’ll going to need high finances and he’ll be qualified then for better employment opportunities. He plans to be a college professor which I think is very appropriate for him.

For Investors and Hobbyists

>> Thursday, August 12, 2010

I’m fond of collecting things and it became a hobby for me. When I was young I used to collect foreign stamps, stationeries, dried roses, pens and old coins. Of all the mentioned hobbies collecting old coins proved to be the most enjoyable for me so I kept it safe from any harm. Because of hectic schedule my collections were not given any attention now and they’re just stored in a safe place.

Now I just saw this site that let investors and hobbyists buy gold coins. I was informed that value of these coins will most likely to appreciate than other things so I am sure that it’s a good investment that you can put your money in. We always have to be sure when we’re thinking about investment because it involves big finances.

When You're Sleepy

Here I am continuing what’s left of my task that will be due after midnight. I don’t think I will be able to work after our travel too Laguna where the celebration will take place. It’s usually traffic when we’re going home just like all our outing in Pansol and Tagaytay City. Every time we travel I find myself doing nothing at home after arrival. Maybe it’s the tiredness that sometimes numbs the mind. Well oftentimes the travel itself makes me so sleepy that long after we arrived at the house my eyes droops even before my usual sleeping time. You know how hard it is to work when you’re so sleepy, it makes everything in blurred vision or sometimes you’ll get blurred mind lol!

Very Productive Day

>> Wednesday, August 11, 2010

I’m very productive today and I’m amazed that despite having same tasks in all of my sites I was able to think different topics and ideas. The words literally are overflowing from my thoughts and I’m finishing tasks in very short span of time. Well I needed that because I have to finish them all before we go to Pansol tomorrow early morning. It’s our dear pastor’s birthday and I decided not to bring my laptop with me so I can take a break and rest. The kids will not go with us as this is their review week for their periodical exams next week. It’s harder to cope up with past lessons if they will be absent from school. So I’m expecting a no-sleep night ahead of me to finish all tasks due tomorrow. I’ll be leaving the house in a few minutes for our bible study.

When Business is Not Meant For You

Most of the employees I know who have resigned from job and retired early resorted to running a small business of their own. It’s the most common action on resigned and retired employees like me. We somehow have this thought of having a steady income even after leaving the corporate world. Some succeeded in running their own business but few were not meant to be business men I guess because they stopped after some time. Those who found that business was not meant for them can give investment a second thought as many succeeded in investing their money. It’s only a question of where to invest your money that’s to be thought and plan about.

Well for some ideas you can look at some sites where they offered investment like buying gold coin or some other precious metals which are time-tested to appreciate values over the years. That will be an assurance that you’ll be receiving high returns of your capital. Our money is hard to earn so we need to think carefully where we should invest it.

Great Job!

I’m full up to my head! I’m talking about my tasks which suddenly became too many for me to finish. I’m not complaining though it may seem tiring to do but it also means earnings. I really thank God that I have this wonderful work-at-home job . This way I can plan ahead of time going to some places without asking employer to sign my absence form and leave.

The Bicycle Test

You Are Confident

You've accepted yourself fully, and you're happy with where you are in life. You are extremely content.
Your gut reactions are neither negative nor positive. You tend to see both sides of issues. You are efficient and savvy. You don't get tied down by unnecessary details.

Yes I'm confident because I'm happy with simplest things that is in me.   I learned to accept things as they are and be contented for what God has given me including my looks, my status in life, my family, my finances and every little thing that I have.  My guts are not that high and not so low, sometimes I'm brave and sometimes not.  I get along fine with everyone and I don't make a fuss of things.  In short I'm just your ordinary friendly neighbor.

When Your Work is Not Exciting Anymore

Being in the same work everyday with routine works is such a not-so nice thing for me because it will not exercise your brain anymore with works that repeats everyday. When I was assigned in our sister company’s Accounting Dept. 7 years ago without any knowledge on it gave me excitement because I’m seeing myself learning different field of study from my computer engineering course. When I had the job for three years it dawned on me that I’m not getting any wiser and smarter because the works I’m doing were just routine works.

That’s when I started to seek for more and it ended in my resignation and concentrate on freelance writing which is more exciting for me or should I say I love doing. It also opened up better earning opportunities for me that investing on gold coins or some other valuable things seem possible now except that it really costs high. Anyway investing is a long process of thinking, planning and decision making so I’m leaving it up on hubby to decide what kind we would most likely to have in the next few months.

Traffic Improvements

I learned from my sister that traffic situation now is so good that it only takes her less than an hour to reach her office. I presumed that one hour is the longest travel time for her now and I’m glad that we’re seeing road improvements. I’m thinking that maybe the lifting of coding window helps and the elimination of special permit to travel on coding days. Well all is fair now. I’m happy that going to work now is much faster and convenient unlike last year when you can get almost stranded on traffic jam. Being late for work affects your record and your attitude sometimes as work will be delayed and you’ll get some reprimand from personnel department.

The Air That We Breathe

>> Monday, August 9, 2010

Nowadays we should make our own move towards clean and healthy living to prevent us and our family from getting sick. We should start it in the environment that we’re exposed to and inside our homes where we spend most of our time. We need air to breathe and the quality of air we breathe declares some of our health condition. Sometimes we’re only aware of the pollution outside our homes that we neglect checking up our indoor environment which is often more polluted than we think. We can’t see the microscopic particles that cause growth of bacteria which causes skin and respiratory diseases. So we should find a good air purifier to clean the polluted indoor air in our house to prevent sickness from coming into our homes.

Clean air means healthy living. If polluted air will endanger our family’s health I think we should make necessary steps and precautionary measures to ensure safety in our own house by installing purifiers like portable air cleaner and some other types fitted to your needs. I visited Rabbit Air and particularly liked the Minus A2 Air Purifiers Artist Series which would perfectly fit my needs with 4 choices of customized filter, BioGS HEPA filtration, washable pre-filter and interchangeable faceplate skins.

Catching Up on Sleep

DH asked me if I know how to make a presentation in PowerPoint because they will present a report in English on Monday. I was expecting that I’d be asked to help but yesterday afternoon they already did the presentation with nice slide shows with the help of his classmate’s girlfriend. I was relieved and took my time off to rest and sleep in the afternoon. I was so busy for the last two weeks and every time I find an opportunity to rest and sleep I do it because who knows we might grab tons of tasks again like last time. It was a very tiring but fulfilling work and I’ve saved enough for the kids’ quarterly tuition fees. God is a great provider.

My Inquisitive Little Boy

>> Wednesday, August 4, 2010

Yesterday’s rain was quite heavy and in multiple frequencies also so I had second thoughts of doing my rounds to the bank, grocery and wet market. When the sky got a little clearer I headed for my round errands with the little boy in tow. He has just arrived from school and he missed going with me on my food shopping. Actually he has some wish list on his mind when he asked me. I’m lucky because the bank was not crowded and the little boy didn’t sit in the waiting area but tagged along with me on the line asking about the security cameras he noticed. He’s always like that, very inquisitive and always fishing for information about things. Well I indulged and answered all his questions while waiting for my turn observing the guard near us who seems to be having his attention on the parking area.

I had accomplished everything in one hour and completed the little boy wish list also which are all food actually consisting of drumstick ice cream, chocolate chips cookies, strawberry knick knacks and ube cheese roll. I added some vitamins for all my kids also since we’ve shopped in a drug store grocery. After we’ve done with marketing for meat and veggies we went home as husband and my girls would be home by then.

My Walking Trips and Buddies

>> Tuesday, August 3, 2010

I’d like to revive my daily walking exercise I had when I was still working in an office located inside White Plains in Quezon City. It’s hard to enter the village with their service vehicle so I just enter the shortest route and walk from there. It’s nice walking especially on early mornings because it serves as an exercise too. I just wished I had something like that of Spenco insole products because they will make walking so much more comfortable and easy even if I’ll have several walking trips.

Anyway I had eight years of my life walking there on early mornings and late afternoons on my way going home. It was fun on the afternoons because I have walking buddies and sometimes we would stop by and have barbecues or stop at the end where fast food restaurants are located. We would have some yummy snack before riding our vehicle going home. One of my walking buddies is working in East Timor now and I terribly miss her.

Custom Wheels and Rims

>> Monday, August 2, 2010

When we have a car of our own we need to have funds for its up keeping and maintenance. Count your car as additional member of your family so you will not be affected if something came up and your car will suddenly need some expenses. That’s how I manage our financial allocation for expenses when we have our own car. Sometimes when its maintenance goes overboard I have to take out my savings because if I will not do it we’ll have difficulty in travelling. We really should take care of it because it’s our companion in the road when we travel. Our driving will be a pleasure if the car is in perfect running condition and parts are always replaced when malfunctioned.

For stylish look we should search for nice accessories that will give our car distinctive appearance even if we don’t spend much. I’ve been browsing online for suggestive ideas for a friend’s car and I found CARid, the online store automotive accessories which offer products for both exterior and interior custom styling. They have a wide variety of high quality accessories like custom wheels and rims which defines the latest innovation in wheel designs and finishes. They have choices for the ones who look for elegance and high performance quality many car owners are looking for. Whatever brand, make and type of your car you’ll be satisfied that they have it.
