Bundled Plan!

>> Saturday, January 31, 2009

Busy day for me as I've applied for Digitel bundled plan, landline with DSL. Actually I was only applying for a prepaid landline but the company only offers all landline with DSL and since I'm on leave that day I decided to give it a try. I've chosen their 512 kbps offer for only P999. The agent collected my downpayment/advance payment to process my application which will lasts until 5 days before installation.

I have no complaints on my present Smartbro, I've enjoyed good connectivity but I really want to try a bundled plan. I've applied to the no. 1 provider of that but their customer service and agents are very slow in calling me back and assisting my application so I switched to Digitel.

Bes told me that this might be slower than my present and this might give me headache in the future but too late now as I've given them my payment and signed the contract. I just wish that their internet is good enough for me. I'll still maintain my present internet for a month or so just in case it didn't met my standards.

: Food Friday - Barbeque

>> Friday, January 30, 2009

My favorite barbeque and this one is from Joey's, a Pancit-Tapsi place in Murphy. I love all grilled foods especially seafoods though they say it's not healthy to eat burnt grilled foods. Be sure not to overcooked your foods or place it at least 4 inches away from the coal to avoid burning the meat.

Happy Friday to all! Enjoy your weekend;)

:Today's Flowers #24

>> Monday, January 26, 2009

Who would never recognize the very familiar Hibiscus or commonly known to Filipinos as ‘gumamela’, the friendly neighborhood flower. Why I said that? Because it’s easily grown, have many varieties and uses. Varieties are in color of red, yellow, orange, pink, white, purple and combination of these colors. As a kid I used gumamela leaves as ingredient for my home-made bubbles.

My first entry in Today's Flowers' in my other blog was a multi-layered hibiscus with a somewhat yellowish orange color which was shot in Bicol. This very simple home-grown red hibiscus is my mom’s own flower. I passed by its pot and noticed that it has recently bloomed so I took a shot immediately and posted it here.

Need Some Upgrade

>> Saturday, January 24, 2009

Our old monitors in my work were replaced with new LCD monitors because the owner thinks it very big and occupies too much space. LCD monitors are nice to look at economical too when you think of electric bills. Since my desktop is not that new I found out that the new LCD is not compatible with my desktop and that explains my bad reception of images. I think I should upgrade my PC and look for video cards to complete my PC upgrade. But until I’ve finished with this I’ll have to suffer from bad reception, too bad I can’t see the exact beauty of images in my PC. If only I could have the specifications of my PC at home then I’ll be fine. Some sentiments!

Healthy Mommies!

Early in the morning I was surprised to see my cousin Jhing who’s living now in ParaƱaque. We grew up together because we live close by, just a wall apart. When she got married she transferred to where her husband resides but she decided to entrust her daughter to her mother until now that her daughter is studying. Every weekends and holidays she visits and stays with her kid but sometimes she extends her stay for some reasons.

I was surprised to see her because it’s the middle of the week wherein she seldom dropped by her mom’s house. She told me that she’s alone in their house because her husband and kids went to the province. She wasn’t allowed by her boss to take a leave so she just stayed in her mom’s house for company. Oh well I really miss her bubbly and nerve-cracking ways when we’re just singles.

We were both mothers now and very healthy indeed, well I should say we’ve gained pounds. She told me she’s drinking some green tea to help her loose unwanted pounds and I can’t help but suggest that maybe she needs not just tea but some kind of fat burner like Fenphedra. She welcomed the idea but said she’ll think it over. Maybe she’ll try it for comparison.

His Birthday!

>> Thursday, January 22, 2009

It’s my hubby’s birthday today but we’ve celebrated it last Sunday at the church joining his birthday with Gen. We cooked pancit bihon and canton and just had it with bread and soft drinks. It was a simple birthday but celebrated happily with all our brethren present because it’s Sunday. We have a habit in our church to celebrate each birthday with cooked pancit, spaghetti, lomi, sopas or anything that will feed us all lol! We just served this with cakes, biko or bread and presto we’ll feast on it. If the celebrant don’t have enough money we chipped in to raise needed amount, that’s how we do it just to make the birthday celebration happy.

Today he planned to buy pancit for his co-employees in Automatic Center but instead bought lechon manok to save time and effort in picking up pancit. For us we’ll just have dinner near the place where we works and will bring something for the kids as the place was too far for them to travel at night. Anyway we’ve already celebrated it last Sunday so they just told us to buy birthday cake. They really love cakes!

Getting Fat Again!

My cousins from Laguna dropped by our house, they’ve gone to the airport because my seaman niece is coming home for a one-month schooling. The flight was delayed in Singapore and rescheduled again today at 10 in the morning. My cousins are the daughter of the only sibling of my mother in Laguna and they’re like real daughters of my mom. We’ve had lots of catching up on stories and some other things and they asked if I’m pregnant. I laughed because I’m really fat now especially on my belly but I’m not going to be pregnant again! I’m thinking if I’ll be needing diet pills this time to get rid of my unwanted pounds. I’m thinking it over actually!

Josh was thinking if he will go back to the pool after being out of the water for 20 minutes. We were at Embudo Resort in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna last January 1 and if you can remember the weather at that time was so low! Kids are kids no matter what the weather is, so everytime my kids got out of the water I gave them something hot like milk and noodles. Oh they just love it!

Assisting Your Kid In School

Parents’ support and assistance on their children is very important especially on their school activities. My two daughters are on their primary years in school and as they grow up their assignments and projects tend to get complicated. Most of the times they’re required to bring objects and things needed to do experiments and projects.

Yesterday Ruth brought magnets for their lesson on materials which can be magnetized and those that can’t. Well she’s very excited like me when I was a kid. Science was my favorite subject then and every laboratory class was super exciting to me. I even represented the school for a competition and even if I didn’t won the competition for me it was a good experience.

:Today's Flowers #23

>> Monday, January 19, 2009

I just love the color of this flower I caught on my cam. It's just a simple flower but the color is so vivid I can't help taking shots. It's one of the flowers that I saw in Villa Dominga Forest Resort. There are plenty of this one there and even if I wanted this flower so much I forgot to ask the caretaker the name of this one. I know I can get this kind in Laguna but I'll have to know it's name so I can just text it to my cousin and they can have it sent it to me when someone from our town goes to Manila or near our place.

Travel Protection

>> Sunday, January 18, 2009

It’s fun to travel around places because you’ll see beautiful places, meet a lot of people and learn different culture and tradition of various races. If only I could have extra time and enough money to go I’ll surely travel a lot outside the country. But for those whose job requires them to go different places across the country and the globe its best if they have travel medical insurance to ensure they’re covered with medical provision if something happens to them while they’re on travel. Anyway there are many companies that offer travel protection plans online so you just have to choose the best for your specific needs.

: Food Friday - Sapin Sapin

>> Friday, January 16, 2009

This is Sapin Sapin from Dolors, one of the best delicacies in Malabon aside from their well-known Pancit which was one of my favorite also. It's one of our food in our last eat together in BT&T brought by Winroe who's living near the place.

We love the soft, thin and delicious sapin sapin made to perfection, for me it's one of the best. Actually I'm living in Cainta where food like these are also a delicacy but I'm not much on rice cakes except for a few. This one captured my taste and I bet you'll never be able to resist it also when you see one :-)

Happy Friday to all! Enjoy your weekend;)

Amazing Games

>> Thursday, January 15, 2009

I’ve been browsing the net for some accessories on my PC when I came upon online games. You see I’m not much on playing games on the net and PC, I only play when it involves solving puzzles and words. Yes I love only word games and puzzles unlike my other friends who were really keen on playing almost every game available on their computers and internet.

I remember my programmer friend who spent a lot of time in the evening around 5 hours just to play online games with his other friends. He said it gives him a feeling of unspeakable fulfillment every time he wins; actually even if he didn’t win he seemed happy enough also. He’s even into buying games online like yesterday he told me that he paid for an xbox 360 because it includes two amazing games in its holiday bundle, Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda. I would say it’s really his favorite hobby.

Gen's Birthday!

>> Monday, January 12, 2009

It's Gen's birthday and we had a very simple celebration for us only and our relatives in our compound including of course my brother's family. I can't invite many as I'm the only one who will prepare and cook everything. I took a halfday leave from office and on my way going back to house I did all the shopping including of course my kids' favorite - the birthday cake! I only cooked spaghetti and ordered barbeque and that's it!

Upon arriving from school Gen and Ruth were happy to see me cooking the pasta and excitedly looked on the dedication written on the cake. Kids are really like that - they are always excited over simple things! They easily find happiness on small things and I appreciate their nice attitude! I want them to grow up appreciating every little nice thing that comes their way.

When my kuya's family arrived my kids began playing with them as if they had never seen each other for a long time, they missed each other very much! Though Raph and May (the elder kids of my brother) were not there the younger ones were such happy playmates. They also love the cake. Here's sharing some pics of us!

Safe Shower Seat For Mom

>> Sunday, January 11, 2009

As my Mom is getting older she’s currently experiencing some pain in her back and legs causing her to have difficulty in standing too long and in going to the bathroom. Actually at her age she’s very healthy, it’s just her rheumatism that’s giving her pain sometimes. I was glad to find some bathroom safety supplies that will be of great help to my mother and all the elderly people who need comfort, safety and proper mobility. I’ve checked some sites and found this wall mounted shower seat and some other innovations in providing safety seats for the old generation. These supplies will prevent the usual bathroom injuries suffered by the elderly.

:Today's Flowers #22

This lavender flower (don't know the name of this flower) caught my fancy while I was taking shots of the beautiful sceneries in Villa Dominga Forest Resort. I was excited to take pictures because there are lots of pretty blooms there owing to the nice climate they have in Indang, Cavite. Almost any flower, plants and trees can grow here abundantly just like in our hometown in Laguna where my Mom grew up. If only I can bring some of these flowers to my Mom she'll have it grow beautifully also as she has a green thumb when it comes to planting flowers, plants and trees.

Gift Cards

I just had an inventory of my things in the office because we're having a renovation of our cubicles and stockroom. To maximize spaces I need to get rid of some old unneeded files and other things that occupy too much space in my mobile pedestal. I've been thinking about those holiday gift cards that we used last December for company's giveaways and gifts to clients and partners.

I remember I had some printed ones which my boss decided to discard and replaced with my other designs. I think I'll save some of it for future design references, you know sometimes they change their minds and go back to their old choices. People are sometimes like that.

: Food Friday - Grilled Pusit

>> Friday, January 9, 2009

This is one of our food in our swimming in Pansol last January 1. Pusit was stuffed with onions, tomatoes and many other spices to further enhance the perfect seafood taste of grilled pusit. After the meaty feast of New Year consisting of pork lechon, liempo, barbeques and chicken the cooked grilled pusit was a refreshing choice.

Happy Friday to all! Enjoy your weekend;)

:WW-Bonfire At The Camp

>> Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Wondering what it is? It's a bonfire at our camp meeting fellowship in Indang, Cavite. The fire was much needed in this place as the fog here seemed like a slight raindrops which made the temperature chilling. Yes I was! Actually I was wearing 2 clothes then just to beat the cold.

The fire brought us warmth and also food as we grilled barbeques on this bonfire which we ate with red wine, nice evening! We shared inspirational stories and words of God while enjoying the heat of the fire! Later we walked to our tent to rest our body for the next day's fellowship.

Backup Storage For Me

>> Saturday, January 3, 2009

For my kind of work in the office and my blogging it’s important to have a good storage capacity always. I’m always storing data, pictures, music and many other things that I need to be at hand whenever and whatever. I’m thinking of buying another 2GB memory stick for backing up my other storage cards. It’s very important to have backups just in case I’m in the provincial fellowships where there’s a need for bigger and multiple storage.

Swimming & Baptism at Pansol

We started our first day of the year relaxing and swimming at our fave resort in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna. We chose not to bring our car because Redge wasn't with us and for us to relax also. We were transported by Bro. Alex' jeepney and if someone is driving other than my hubby I can sleep myself throughout our journey, nice thing about riding with other brethren. We were four vehicles traveling from GMA Cavite to Calamba Laguna.

My kids were all excited as after we've eaten our new year's eve dinner they didn't want to sleep. I just told them that I'm going to wake them up as soon as the vehicle arrives in the morning. They really love swimming! We packed some of the evening's food and grilled them again on the resort. Our brothers in the church bought pusit and tilapia because all our food are meat. They stuffed the seafoods there with spices and grilled them.

Lunch was served later with everything open for everyone but the kids just went on swimming after taking some bites lol! And because the weather is so cold I prepared hot milk and noodles for the kids. They took advantage of their last day outing because on Monday all will be back to normal.

Will post pics later!

Caring For Our Car

>> Friday, January 2, 2009

It's another year again and we're preparing our car for it's registration on March. After the long holidays and frequent travel to faraway places our car should be given extra care now. My hubby started on checking different parts of the car and listed some notes on the ones that needs replacement, actually we're thinking of a new body because it will cost us more if we have the doors and windows repaired. Anyway that's only part of car maintenance, another thing to think about is getting a cheap car insurance to insure the car will be covered when accident happens, not that we expect accidents but it's still best to secure insurance.

Happy New Year!

>> Thursday, January 1, 2009

Welcome 2009! I thanked God for the blessed year that passed and prayed that this year will bring us more blessing not just on the material side but spiritual as well. People should be happy with simple things in life because that’s where God dwells – in the simplest of things.

New year means new beginning, new hope, new plans and purpose in life, for others new jobs, new homes, new opportunities and new friends. I can never put an end on how many new we can start in our life but the most important thing is having new life with Christ in our heart. Happy New Year!

To welcome the new year here's a table full of food, forget the diet!
