My Valuable Companion

>> Monday, January 31, 2011

I find my laptop very useful to daily activities in my life. I used it for blogging, for doing my kids’ assignments, for watching online movies and novellas and for updating myself on local and international news. I don’t often watch television these past few months and when I want to watch particular or favorite shows I’ll just see it through my laptop. Anyway I’m connected online 24/7 so it’s easy for me to do everything I want online. Now I’m browsing some beautiful gadgets and fell in love with Sony VAIO notebooks.

Although my current laptop is not the same brand I could do well with two top quality brands of computers. Now I have to tell myself that it’s not the perfect time for buying favorite gadgets because there are other priorities this coming summer like my kids’ tuition fees, books and uniform. Well maybe after that I can buy myself a reward for working so hard.

Personal Touch on Every Card

It’s been a long time since I’ve done baby invitation for my kids because the youngest I have is already 7 years old. I missed the days when I was too busy with my world full of activities for my babies. I’m the one who designs and prints all of their invitations from birth until now. The last I’ve done was when Josh had his birthday in preparatory school. His 7th birthday has a theme last year and so I bought invitation cards for the first time. Even though it’s tasking to do baby invitations, baby thank you cards and all of my kids’ birthday invitations for the last couple of years I find it fulfilling that I can make personalized cards for them.

Their teachers would always tell me how patient I was in doing it personally. Actually it’s not only sweet to have it that way but it’s also economical compared to commercial cards available in the market. Aside from all these reasons I want my kids to look back into their childhood and remember how I loved them so much. And that I can run an extra mile just to make special moments of their lives very special and memorable.

Managing Finances Wisely

It’s hard to manage finances especially if your income is not really enough for your basic necessities. I know this fact because I’ve been involved in human resources and accounting for several years and I know how employees find it hard to budget their meagre income for their family. I’m talking about those minimum wage earners and low-salaried employees who try to limit their expenses to basic essentials only. Later I found that managing budgetary income could be as hard also as for those who have bigger income. It’s a matter of balancing needs and income.

Even those who are in the high rank positions in their respective companies can suffer deficiency in their budget. Actually those with high salaries tend to have big amount of debt too. Well debt can lead to bankruptcy if it reaches the level where your monthly payments are bigger than your income or if it just equals what you receive per month. With this kind of problem you can get a lot of help from San Diego Bankruptcy Information where their bankruptcy attorneys can assist you to recover from your debts and soon have a debt-free life. They offer free consultation and suggest ways on how you can restart your life without debt like debt negotiation services, debt consolidation and a lot more. After you’ve made your finances clear you can now get on and avoid getting debt in the future.

Plans on Getting Mobile Food Trailers

>> Saturday, January 29, 2011

Times are getting hard these days and employing yourself in a company seems not enough to meet your family’s needs. I resigned from my 16-year tenure to focus on caring for my kids and my Mom and resort to online work where I can be at home while working. I’ve been lucky to enter this kind of job as I can enjoy my family, my kids and still earns enough money to provide for their needs. When I received my retirement pay from my long employment I thought of starting a meat product distributorship business but blogging took most of my time that starting a business of my own became a hard thing to do. DH and I didn’t push our plans but promised ourselves that we’ll look at it when we have time to spare.

Now I’m having second thoughts again in rebuilding our business plans as I see many food trailers succeeding in selling their products. It’s nice to see them lined up in malls giving good service and delicious food at affordable cost. I’m asking DH if we had a chance on getting custom concessions  for our desired mobile food trailers. I’m doing feasibility studies on it and looking for a good place to sell our products. Anyway we’re also studying which of the products sell the most as that would surely give us a high return for our investment. I love food and cooking so maybe it’s appropriate to have a business related to food also.

Creative Business Intelligence Solutions for 2011

>> Thursday, January 27, 2011

With the passing of every year, competition amongst enterprise-level businesses continues to build as corporations constantly look for ways to improve efficiency, cut costs, and maximize profits.  For many larger companies, an emerging trend is the search for new ways to mine massive volumes of internal data to detect valuable insights into their customers and their operations.  In 2011, many of these new business intelligence solutions revolve around the concepts of data visualization and data transformation.

Data visualization is not a new concept.  Per Wikipedia’s definition: “Data visualization is the study of the visual representation of data, meaning “information which has been abstracted in some schematic form, including attributes or variables for the units of information.”  For businesses, the primary application of data visualization is the conversion of large volumes of technical data into easy to read dashboard reports, heat maps, and other visualizations.  For example, a corporation with 100 different retail locations on the Eastern seaboard might use data visualization software to generate a heat map showing their most profitable and least profitable stores.  Alternatively, an executive might want to quickly reference which locations have the highest utility costs and compare that map with the profitability heat map.

This concept of creating easy to understand visualizations of large volumes of data is also referred to as data transformation.  Tremendous amounts of data are created and collected by organizations in the course of operations. This data is often stored in many silos of information ranging from databases, to spreadsheets, to data marts, to enterprise data warehouses. A central repository is often not the solution. Studies have shown that more than 50 percent of data warehouse projects have had limited acceptance or were outright failures because of data quality issues.  Data transformation allows decision makers to quickly access the nuggets of business intelligence locked within these large volumes of data.

Expect to see data visualization and data transformation become increasingly popular buzz words with people involved in business intelligence solutions in 2011.

Great Help in Writing

>> Saturday, January 22, 2011

My office friend asked for an advice on how she can go back to blogging since she’s been busy with offline world for two years. I told her that it’s different now as we really need to have domain sites to have steady assignments from clients. She asked for advice on what niche she should be taking and I told her shopping and technology would be nice as she only had personal blog in the past.

I know she can have blog about beauty and health tips but to maintain a site easily she should be well informed with the latest trends in beauty and fashion. One friend I know planned on studying in schools like Regency Beauty Institute so she can actually write from experience. Writing about hair expertise, skin makeover and many other things about maintaining and improving beauty is not an easy task so learning about it may be of great help.

This blog post was based on information provided by Blogitive. For more information, please visit Blogitive.com or contact Regency Beauty Institute – 10217 North Metro Parkway West – Phoenix, AZ 85051

My Kids Complete Me

>> Saturday, January 15, 2011

Being a Mom completes me. I have the love of my parents, siblings, husband, relatives and friends but my children complete my daily existence. They’re my inspiration in my work and I’m sure without them I can never be as workaholic as I am because when I think of their future that’s where I get my energy for working so hard. I love them and I’ll do everything good for them. I know most Moms would agree that our wish is to give them the best possible things. This is the reason that after giving birth we try to give them our breast-milk which is the best milk for babies. Through their growing up years we don’t just give them healthy foods but we also give them love, care and guidance to help them live their lives in the right direction. When they grow old and start to have a family of their own I want them to raise and nurture their kids in the way I have loved and cared for them.

Best Job Ever

My girls used a different soap from what we always use and I noticed that Ruth’s skin became dry from using it. Slowly I’m beginning to see my kids’ sensitivity to various things that they used. It’s a big difference now that they’re on their teenage years than when they’re toddlers and little girls. I really have to learn more from their skin reactions to different brands of soap, lotion and creams. I’m glad that I work in the convenience of our home and was able to monitor everything about them. For me it’s a great privilege to be able to earn your living by working online at home. I can never exchange it for any corporate job that offers big career promotion. Being with my kids always and be able to take care of them is a big bonus in itself that I can proudly say I found the best job ever.

She’s Turned 12!

>> Thursday, January 13, 2011

My daughter turned 12 yesterday and we had a small celebration for her with her classmates during their lunch break. She had 15 guests who went all the way from school to our house to greet her. The birthday celebration was really a joyous and happy one and Gen told me that it was her happiest birthday ever because she had her best friends in school with her. They will graduate from primary school this year and they will be separated from each other when they enter secondary school. She’ll be studying in a Christian school while her close friends will be in other school of their choices.

I’m beginning to feel that slowly she’ll be turning from a girl to a young lady. My little girl has grown so fast that she’s almost my height now. I wouldn’t be surprised in few years if she’ll be asking me about teenage girls’ things like crushes, dressing up, skin problems and many other things that she’ll be passing through. Hope it won’t be acne scar removal because I wouldn’t want her to have problems with acne.

I was lucky that I wasn’t so sensitive in my teenage years that I only encountered such problem once or twice only. I hope that my two daughters will be like me because having skin problems is one of the common problems among teenage kids. It also causes inferiority complex to some kids so it’s better to protect and maintain a clear skin free from acne, pimples and other skin disorders.

Missing My Friend in Australia

I’ve talked to my friend in Australia and asked their condition there even though I know they’re not affected by the big flood. I just missed her suddenly and remembered our good times together in our past work in Design Science doing technical proposals in the night. What I loved most were our lunch escapades where we’ll go out at our office inside the village at lunchtime and try some restaurants that offer delicious foods. We love eating and trying out different foods and restaurants.

She met her kind and handsome husband online and married him after a year. She’s now happily living in Australia and enjoying the life there. She has a problem with her thyroid and undergoing treatment just like hypothyroid treatment austin so they could have a baby soon. They both agreed that they will be fine with or without baby. That wouldn’t be a hindrance to their love for each other. I wish and pray that she’ll be healed soon. I know that she’s doing great now.  She'll be having a vacation here this year and I'm excited to see her again.

Keeping Us Cool on Summer Days

>> Saturday, January 8, 2011

After our camp meeting DH arranged our appliances and repaired electric fans stored in the stock room in preparation for the summer heat. I was thinking of getting some ceiling fans to maximize space for the house. I remember our old ceiling fan with beautiful lights below the fans which was quite decorative for me. Living in a tropical country with sunnier than cold days made us always think of ways on how we can make our environment fresh and cool. I’m not much on using air conditioners in the house because it’s a lot painful to see high electric bills at the end of the month lol!
