New Flooring for Our House

>> Saturday, January 30, 2010

My sister and I were talking about our renovation plans in the house which we started last year. We finished two projects and while she’s taken over the finishing grills of our gate I decided to take charge of the garden which I’m very fond of doing. The place was intended for my meat products shop but since I don’t have time to start a small business yet I’m going to turn the place into a small garden with Bermuda or Carabao grass.

I have plenty of garden ideas now since I’ve consulted my brother-in-law who knows a lot about garden landscaping. Back to our renovation plans we decided to prioritize our tile flooring after our present project because our vinyl flooring suffered damages after the flood. That flooring has served us for several years already and it’s about time to replace it with new tiles. Our house is a bit spacious and that means big budget to cover for the new tiles. Well no worries as we still have several months before we implement this one.

:Food Friday - Lumpia Veggies with Tofu

>> Friday, January 29, 2010

It's veggies and fish these past two weeks to make up for the holidays' meaty fiesta :-) I cooked this Lumpiang Gulay with breaded tofu as toppings. It's good to combine tofu with veggies because you're sure that you don't have any meat on your food, that is if you really want your diet to be pure veggies and fish only. Oh well it's one of my favorite food. This one is served with peanut sauce but I've added the pure ground peanut in this veggie mixture so no need to make peanut sauce as this one is so healthy yummy already! I didn't add any coloring (the reason why it's pale)

High Performance Aircrew Helmets

>> Thursday, January 28, 2010

I heard the news yesterday night that the PAF Nomad plane has crashed on some houses in subdivision in Cotabato City causing death among the passengers, pilots and crew of the said plane. It also caused fire and great damages on the properties where the plane accidentally landed. It’s rather tragic to hear that news as many of that Nomad plane has suffered the same fate in the past years. Now flying of the Nomad plane was suspended until investigations were over. As for me I wouldn’t ride anymore on that Nomad plane as it’s already proven from the numerous accidents suffered by the plane that it’s not safe anymore. That’s only my opinion. I don’t usually write things like this one but I pity the families of those passengers especially their kids. It must be so sad for them.

Our government should look into the planes we are purchasing from other countries as maybe some of them are not perfect in performance. Well I’m not in a position to talk about this but I’m just concerned. Speaking of performance I happened to surf some high performance aircrew Helmets New U.S. Military which even from the looks only you can tell its high quality and advanced design. I wonder if our government could provide some of it to our own Air Force staff. I’m just wondering of course as I’m just awed by its features and qualities and dreaming that our own air force would have advanced technology gadgets.

Josh doesn't mind because he says she's just a baby :-). She's my niece' 7-month old baby and been a constant delight to see her smiling, laughing, crying and playing in our compound. She's such a cutie baby and growing so prettily. She also loves to see Josh that when Josh approach her she will immediately smile. I told Josh that his face is funny lol :-)

Looking for Project Software

I’ve recently talked to my former office mate and she’s now employed in a different company that relies mainly on automated system on all departments and aspects of their works. Since their system is so efficient there are no reasons to make a lot of mistakes and works are expected to be perfect.

Her only problem is that of handling a new project that’s not included in the current system they have. She didn’t want to be so demanding on the company to have bigger funds for her project but she wanted software that will run it efficiently. I told her to try project management software because it will not be as expensive as other system software. She’s thinking about my advice and probably will try this new suggestion of mine. Anyway she really needs some piece of advice from me since we’ve worked hand in hand with big projects years ago.

Make Money Out of Old Coins and Jewelries

I used to have collections of many sorts when I was a child. I collect stamps from my godparents in Spain, California and other parts of the world. I collect stationeries of Sanrio and other cute items. They’re all my collections when I was in my young teens’ period but the only collection that I have until now are my photos and old coins. It somehow reminisce my childhood days with my playmates and siblings. The coin collection started with my Mom’s old coin which she gave to me for keepsake and I got excited over it that starting on that day I keep some old coins for my collection when the government replaced them with new ones.

Sometimes there are buyers roaming around our place and tried to coax me to Sell Gold Coins from my collections but I can’t part with them even if they offer a high price. I’m glad that my precious old coins appreciate its value over the years but the thought of selling them now is not open to me. I keep telling myself that it’s also an investment that if things get tough I’ll have something to sell or have fall back.

Well for those who are not so sentimental as I am and want to get the most cash from your collections you can Sell Gold to Refinity.com. If you sell your gold coins you will not only earn money but you can help protect our planet as well. Refinity.com is an eco-friendly refinery that buys old coins and refines precious metal scrap items for other usage thus minimizing mining and the risk of environmental hazard. You can also Sell Jewelry collection of yours that’s not of fashion anymore or those that have broken chains. Well sometimes we want to remove our old jewelries that have gone out of style or occupying your jewelry case for too long. Some people don’t want to have too much jewelry to keep and just want the new ones. For whatever reasons you may have you can make money from it and buy new investment. You can visit their site now and make the most cash money out of your collections.

Learning Some Electrical Repairs

>> Saturday, January 23, 2010

DH’s day off last Thursday was a good day for all of us aside from celebrating his birthday one day earlier. He has managed to repair some of our appliances which have malfunctioned after the flood has submerged our house up to neck-deep water. He has helped Ruth in making her electrical project in school which was not so easy with grade school students. DH has no knowledge of any electrical repairs but managed to follow directions from DIY guide and after more than an hour he has repaired two electric fans and our washing machine. He just asked me for some clamps to help him fasten some small objects because they keep on moving and getting out of place. I noticed that he’s happy doing those works and I told him he can study some short course if he wants to learn more.

:Food Friday - Hubby's Birthday Food!

>> Friday, January 22, 2010

Today is dear husband's birthday and these are his birthday foods. We celebrated it in advance yesterday as he filed a leave of absence yesterday for a one-day vacation rest in Tagaytay. We didn't go on with the plan of going to highlands of Tagaytay but we spent the day together in the house and decided to cook and celebrate his birthday yesterday. We went to the mall in the morning with Josh as he's on an early morning school schedule and bought some food and electrical supplies for the house.

Later in the afternoon I cooked pasta and chicken, made some delightful fruit salad and ordered cake. My girls were surprised at the advance celebration when they arrived but were happy with it. They were expecting that we're still in Tagaytay. Well everything happens on purpose, maybe on our next plan my young girls will have no exams and they will able to come with us.

Happy Food Friday to all, see other yummy foods here!

Graduation Meeting Reminders

I must hurry up with my work even if I'm a little tipsy from overnight blogging yesterday which lasted until 3am today. I need to attend my daughter's graduation meeting for parents and guardians. We'll discuss the rules, the fees to be paid, clothes to wear and all things concerning their elementary graduation. Ruth reminded me this meeting for about four times just to be sure that I won't forget because I have many things on hand these past few days and she thought that I might miss not the day but the time of the meeting. Well she said it in all smiles.

Family Vacation This Month

>> Thursday, January 21, 2010

Since I had a bad fall last month I’m not the usual me in everything that I do. I’m weaker now and having my energy lasting for some hours only. I used to be a very energetic person and I do my chores super fast that my family would always call me super mom. Now I feel slightly bad that I can’t do things the way I can previously that I’m planning to have a vacation sometime this month or next month. Since I can’t have it on my own as I also want my kids and hubby with me I’m planning a weekend family vacation so they can come without affecting their school activities and hubby’s work. I know with proper sleep, rest and relaxation I can bring back my body’s health back to its normal condition.

If only we have more funds for our vacation I would also love a vacation somewhere along the beach resorts like in Karisma Resorts where they offer family vacation packages including good gourmet foods, luxury accommodations, entertainment, sports and the beautiful scenic view of the sea from where you’re staying in. Beautiful isn’t it? Well it’s not an impossible thing, who knows!

Make Some Changes

Are you in a rut? Bored? Well how can we solve that? Here are some simple tips for you. Make some changes in your life. Change your schedule. Take a little vacation, somewhere quiet and far from your home and work even if it's just for the weekend. If you’re bored with your job and you think you can easily adjust with a new job then transfer to a new one. I’ve already did that last year when I feel like I’m bored with what I’m doing everyday of my work life.

I told myself that it’s not the career that I want for myself so better get out of it. I resigned and concentrate on my family while earning some bucks from online job. Now I’m a happier Mom, wife and I have more quality time for my family. Just small changes can jar you loose from the old rut and spark a new interest in your life. So it’s up to you what small changes are you willing to take just to have an exciting life again. Remember that boredom can sometimes bring you to some depression so get out of it.

Sophisticated Volvo

>> Wednesday, January 20, 2010

From what I can remember almost all men I know likes car. I came to know this since I was a child with my father’s flair for nice cars which I also saw in my brother, cousin and now my husband. Men like cars since they’re little boys and you can see it through their cute little toy cars and miniature model cars. My brother has started with a pickup to use for his new construction business then he shifted to a car for a more professional look and now he has a four-wheel drive car that he used for monitoring all his residential projects. His love for cars is not only a whim as its also useful to him; it’s actually a necessity for many of us.

There are also some people who just want to collect cars as their hobby and we know these are the well to do people who can afford to buy expensive cars on their whim only. For those people who don’t really mind investing on cars they look for elegance, performance and style they want in a car and they can find it in the new 2010 volvo C30, with the usual style of a two-door hatchback of the S40 sedan and V50 wagon.

For those who loves sophisticated look inside and out this is the car for them as it boasts of a good interior design incomparable with other cars. With its improved racier shape you could be traveling around town in elegance and sophisticated style. It’s called the wild child of the Volvo family. It’s not what you can call a sports car but it has a good performance.

Eyes half-closedEyes fully closed (sound asleep)

No she's not a princess but her name is. Just love this cute sleeping photo of our dear Princess when she was just 2 months old with her Mom holding her. It's actually her first photo shoot when after some clicks and shots she suddenly yawned and sleep while taking her pictures. I found her cute while sleeping so I didn't stopped. She's my first cousin's granddaughter so I'm her granny also (young granny of course lol).

Feeling Dizzy

>> Monday, January 18, 2010

I’ve been feeling bad this morning and maybe this is due to my PMS, I’m just writing some posts but will rest later. Just can’t focus when my head is aching and eyes are itching. I was hoping early this day that I’ll be able to finish my workload but dizziness prevents me from doing too much work. Mom is telling me to give myself a break for at least two hours to nap, rest and relax but I’ll stop when I reached my own quota of work because I don’t want doing work on deadlines it gives me a lot of pressure. While I’m looking for some ways to lessen my headache my niece is asking me some tips on getting rid of blackheads because she has two on her face and it ruins her flawless face complexion. Teenagers are really a handful sometimes that they can’t seem to have proper timing. Oh well I guess she really needs some attention now, she’s giving me too many questions.

My Phobia

You Are Acrophobia

You are the fear of heights.
It's likely that you expect bad things to happen to you. You often feel unlucky.

It would be just your luck to fall from a high spot... and you're not going to chance it.
You tend to be pretty risk adverse. You rather be safe than sorry.

This is really true, I'm afraid of heights and I never had a chance to ride a ferris wheel, a vinta, space shuttle, roller coaster or anything like that. Well I'm not so coward as you'll think but I'm just not a risk taker. I rather be safe than sorry and it's pretty convenient to be like that.

Relief for my Mom’s Joint Pains

>> Saturday, January 16, 2010

My Mom complains of joint pains because of her arthritis that’s always making its presence known when the weather is very low or when it’s very cold. I always see her putting some herbal oil on affected joints when she’s in pain and in minutes it’s all gone. She even used the same herbal oil on me whenever I suffer from severe backache. My Auntie gave the oil to her several months ago and she said it’s one of the Chinese herbal oil that’s proven to relieve some muscle pains. It can be used also on other sickness that’s why it’s called best herbal oil. Sometimes I’m thinking if it’s better if Mom should have joint supplements that will not only give natural joint pain relief but will help also to improve and strengthen her joints. I’ve already given her vitamins for bones and joints few years back but it didn’t work as it was advertised on television. It’s better to consult doctor before taking any supplement.

Earning While Taking Care of the Kids

I was trying to remain awake as I have many tasks to do. Actually it’s not my due date but I want to do my work ahead of schedule to prevent date miscalculations and expirations. I was really tired from house chores but sitting in front of my PC gives me some relaxation I guess because I’m really this kind of person that when I’m tired physically I can’t rest until my mind would be tired also.

Funny or weird but that’s what I developed when I had this job of always beating the deadlines of submitting proposals for certain million worth government projects. It was a life that you’ll not wish coming back for because even if you need to rest and sleep you can’t go home until the proposal is not finished and submitted on time. I’m glad that I was able to decide a different life outside the demanding corporate world. In my present job I earn and still can take care of my family all the time. Isn’t it a blessing? I’m so thankful!

Sensitive Skin

My daughter has developed some sensitivity in her feet since she was a toddler and we’re so careful in buying slippers and shoes for her. I always choose the best materials that will ensure non-allergenic properties to protect Ruth from having skin disease on her feet like allergy, eczema and some other results of feet sensitivity.

Now that she’s a big girl already I noticed that she can wear more styles and materials of slippers but still prone to some itchiness when she’s not comfortable with what she’s wearing. I always try to check her feet if it’s too dry or sore because that’s my symptoms that she’s getting allergy or sensitive to some factors. MIL gave me a very good ointment that can cure mild allergies and can be used also on general skin disorders. I hope that she’ll develop a daily regimen of watching on her delicate skin so she can prevent skin disorders on her feet. She’s still a toddler at heart and in her ways sometimes that I still remind her on how to take care of her feet.

:Food Friday - Breakfast Cravings!

>> Friday, January 15, 2010

This is one of my specialty because it happens to be my favorite also, actually i love all kinds of pasta especially the white sauce varieties. This one was our breakfast today as we're all craving for some more. I've cooked spaghetti sauce last Tuesday (Gen's birthday) more than I need so I can store some of it in our freezer and today I've cooked half kilo pasta and just taken the frozen sauce out of the ref and voila I have yummy spaghetti in 30 minutes! Breakfast should be served before 6am before my girls' school service so I'm super fast in cooking breakfast for them. We always have heavy breakfast like rice and pasta as I believe in having a full stomach in the morning so my kids can think fast and be alert and healthy when they go to school.

Happy Food Friday to all, see other yummy foods here!

Late Night Work!

>> Thursday, January 14, 2010

It’s past eleven again and though I feel a little sleepy I’m also inspired to write more and this is good as I have a lot of tasks to finish. My tasks are well off the deadlines but I still want to finish them earlier as I hate scramming and beating the deadline hours. It’s better to start off this year with a good work schedule and it’s also conducive to receiving and grabbing plenty of opportunities as you’ll not worry about not being able to think of ideas when you needed it most. In blogging you also need a careful planning of work so you’ll have time to post more valuable entries. This time of the night I only have to think of myself because my kids were all sleeping and my work is double fast than when I’m doing something in the house. Well I should take this as an advantage for me. I’ll be able to round up some blogs and visit them again.

Women’s Concerns

Women are so concerned about the way they look or if their faces showed signs of aging and imperfections. Their concerns are equal with their passion for shopping and going to spas. Well that’s one of our natures and I find it ok as long as everything will be done naturally. As for me I never let my face be exposed to sun’s heat without protection because the sun can dry up your skin badly and will make your skin looks older than your age. It’s better to be careful with it rather than face the mirror and see yourself aging so fast. But if this happens to you there are many age spot removal treatment you can find in the market, I recommend reading some reviews before purchasing one.

Quit Vices and Be Health Conscious!

>> Tuesday, January 12, 2010

As I grow older I’m getting health conscious as they say sickness can easily make you look and feel older. Also the more you increase your age the more we’re susceptible to deadly disease that resulted from our bad eating habits and wrong lifestyle. I have a relative that suffered from lung sickness because of too much alcohol and it retained in my memory that alcohol can damage our health severely. I usually cringe when I see teenagers smoking and drinking as I know every single cigarette and alcoholic drinks that they take decreases their life span and make them susceptible to lung cancer. It’s sad to think that vices are something that some people can’t cut in their lives even if it means dangers in their health.

Often people tend to care for their health and body when they experienced painful times in the hospital which is most of the times too late for bodies developed some cysts or deadly sickness when it’s abused. What’s alarming is that most people who suffered from lung cancer don’t smoke but been exposed to a group of smokers. It’s proven that exposure is sometimes dangerous than if you’re the one who’s smoking. This is a pity as the smokers are endangering not just their lives but the lives of other people as well.

As I’m contemplating on my last sentence I thought of the children and babies who have no choice if their parents are smokers as they have a big chance of having this kind of cancer. Well it’s another thing when it comes to heart as this organ is one of the most vital and delicate organ in our bodies. Many people suffer from cardiac arrest without so much idea of the severity of their sickness. If this sickness is detected at an early stage there are big chances of recovering as CVTSA provides the safest most reliable and efficient treatment care to cardiac patients. With cardiac surgery performed by cardiac surgeons and nurses there many patients experienced fast recovery. Many of the operations performed are heart transplant, lung transplant, robotic surgery and many others. We should really try to watch what we’re eating and drinking and try not to have vices as it will give you sickness when you grow older.

Stylish and Affordable Roofing

We have good weather these days and I love having sunshine on my washed clothes because it smells so good. More and more as the days go by I beginning to feel very blessed that I can earn while staying at home because no matter what happened you can schedule everything according to your will. You just need to have patience and self-discipline to manage and balance work and house chores. I also learned that when you stay at home you’ll get hooked with your house.

It’s like seeing your house on a different perspective as you’ll get to see all roofing and checking if it will stay good on rainy days. Roofing is very important in building a house and you need to choose the one with the best quality to avoid re-roofing. I came across Ondura sheets and found that if you want style, low maintenance and affordable roofing you just have to search their site. Oh and by the way they also have Lifetime Limited Warranty so you don’t have to worry about the product’s guarantee.

Feels So Blessed with My Present Job

>> Thursday, January 7, 2010

With my present condition now after the holiday seasons I just can’t do many tasks as I used to be. My Mom is helping me with massage therapy almost every other day and with that I’m feeling a lot better. I’m just sad that it’s the start of the year and I can’t compete with grabbing for more opportunities as my health is not that good. I can only work for some given time and after that I need to rest. My office friend whom I’m chatting the other day told me that I’m lucky to have an online job that I can do on flexible time that even if I’m sick I can still work on my desired time. With that thought in my mind now sadness turned to feeling blessed that it’s indeed a good job for me. I feel lucky now that my job is just perfect for me, that even if I’m not feeling good I can still attend to my kids and work at the same time.

Now I’m feeling a lot better than last week and keeping myself healthy and fit with my regular menu of three varieties of fruit a day. All I need now is a week-long vacation on some nice place like Outer Banks rentals, actually because that one is far from where I live I appreciate having my rest vacation in a province few miles away from my home.

Feeling Better After a Good Sleep

Feels better after a good night sleep because my Mom massage my back and brought some relief to what I'm suffering for several days now. I'm having some difficulty in sleeping due to severe pain in my shoulders, back and arms. It stemmed up from my bad fall last December 13. My situation severed because of too many holiday activities and after New Year I suddenly felt my limbs were numb and shaking. After that day I was ordered rest from household works and limited time on blogging.

For my recovery I need to have massage therapy on my dislocated veins and numb body. Even though I'm sick I tried my best to do some tasks on my blogs and just this week I even managed to dropped some entrecard and visits regular favorite sites. I just need some more days to download pictures of our holiday activities in Tagaytay and Indang, Cavite and in Laguna. Today I've done many tasks and was able to update my new blog.

Saving for Something

>> Wednesday, January 6, 2010

My 14-year old niece was counting her money gifts received last holidays and she’s quite satisfied with the thought that she’ll add it to her savings. She’s not fond of buying left and right for simple and small things she’ll rather save it for a big purchase. She’s saved enough for her expensive slippers which she just hangs on her room and used sparingly on very few occasions. Now she’s saving again for something and she’s keeping it a secret. Last week I’m teasing her to tell it and guessed on some possibilities like MP5, ipods, some gadgets or beautiful expensive accessories. No amount of teasing and persuasion can make her tell her secret, she just smiled at me sheepishly.

Camp Meeting Plans

>> Monday, January 4, 2010

End of the holiday and many of us I’m sure are not quite over with the holiday fever. I remember last year when I was still working in BT&T that every after some holiday it pains me to get up and summon myself to get ready and go to work. Most of my officemates felt the same way and sometimes it’s hard to even write and start the reports and usual office responsibilities. Well that after-holiday sickness will last only for a few days then we’ll be as normal as ever. It’s just the effect of long holidays especially the last month of the year holidays.

We had our camp meeting fellowship successful and renewed our spirits for the new year of hope and endeavor. We were very happy with our four-day stay in the villa. All in all we’re in 5 vehicles and we’re thinking that maybe its better if we’re in a motorhome during the camp. It’s more convenient and just perfect for the purpose. If we’re going to do that in the next camp meetings we’ll make it sure to get the best and affordable motorhome insurance to make sure that we’re covered if anything happens. It’s best to travel in safety than meet accident and be sorry.
