When I finally realized that I really enjoy blogging I immediately bought my own domain to enjoy the full grasp of being a blogger. Adjustment to Changing Weather

My niece is having some uncomfortable moments whenever it’s too cold or too hot, she seems to have some hardship in adjusting to extreme weather. Just now she’s sneezing and starting to have coughs because she was exposed to cold air at night when she goes home after work. I told her that it’s better to stay at home for few days until she’s well. Now she’s slowly adjusting to changing weather and was happy to find the best allergy relief whenever she has some skin allergy all over her face and body.

Better Opportunities

Back to work now after the fellowship vacation which gave me new energy and strength to face daily challenges and problems. We arrived Sunday night but I didn’t do my online tasks right away I just checked my emails and started my tasks only tonight. It’s just that the holiday season is taking up so much of my time that my schedule is up to my neck. I’m glad that I didn’t have to report to my office after my holiday vacation because I’m just working at home and I can plan my own schedule of working just like what I’m doing now.

I find myself lucky with my present situation now and I’m sharing it with my friends who are looking for new jobs now outside the country. They heard some good paying work in jobs philadelphia and they want to try their luck abroad. It’s a normal story here in our place when employees can’t seem to get to augment their financial status. They think that working abroad can help their lives get better even if it would mean sacrifice of not seeing their families for years.

Better Bathrooms for Your Homes

As we’re heading to our church camp meeting in Cavite we checked all sections and corners of the house for safe precautions just in case we miss electrical plugs or phones currently charging. Anyway it’s not as if there’s nobody in the house for the long holidays as there will be some family members that will stay in our house while we’re away. We just want to assure ourselves that we’re leaving the house safe and sound. Everything is fine and in good condition because we just had some renovation in the house and my brother’s workers checked everything that need repairs. We’re happy with the results because the workers who worked for us seem very well concentrated on doing a very nice job. Away for the Holidays!

We're getting ready for our long travel and I've spent the last few days preparing for our things and essentials as we'll be staying in far place away from the bustling city of Metro. As I'm writing this we're packing our bags, food and clothings. We'll be staying in Villa Dominga Forest Resort in Indang, Cavite and we'll be sleeping on tents. In a few hours we'll head off South of Luzon and spend our four days in the camp. Friends I'll be visiting you next week. I wish you all peace, love and happiness this Christmas.

Getting Ready for the Long Travel

Few days from now we’ll be heading to our camp site on the highlands of Indang, Cavite near Tagaytay City and we’re so happy that despite of not having our car restored to its normal state we were able to hire my brother’s extra car. It’s actually a better one as it’s a pickup car that’s so perfect to carry heavy loads and if you can imagine our essentials, food, beddings and clothings for a four-day stay at the camp you would probably say that it’s the best to carry on long and heavy baggage travel.

Last Sunday our church mate who knows a lot about car maintenance checked and fixed our break, tail and park lights. We’ve also noticed a not-so good wiper so we’re also fixing them up. We should be thinking and checking all possible fixing as we don’t want to catch trouble on the road. We always follow the blow bag rule which is the acronym that stands for checking up battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air (for tires) and gasoline whenever we travel for long distance destination. It’s also best if we can have travel insurance for a safer and worry-free travel local and international.

This is one of my favorite part of the pork meat, the spareribs and this recipe is just one of the many recipes you can make out of spareribs. It's simple to cook this. You only saute spices, put on the meat and add coconut milk and the usual sat, pepper and msg. Well the rest is up to you if you want to add some veggies.

My Mom used to cook this one for us back when we were younger and up to when she's strong enough to cook for us. She's not that frail or weak now but we just told her that it's better if she rest on cooking. Actually upon telling her that she seems happier that I can take upon her duty in the family to cook lol! And when I say cook I mean cooking on occasions also including cooking for 50-100 people when the need arises. Well it's ok as cooking is one of my stress therapy and one of my favorite hobbies.

Reminders for Camp Meeting

At the church we talked about our incoming camp meeting at Indang, Cavite and we’re all excited about coming back to Villa Dominga Forest Resort where we’ll spend four days of the holiday season in fellowship services. We noted all necessities, priorities, things to bring, food to prepare, transportation, instruments and many other things to be reminded of. Of course for the Mommies we care about our family’s food and clothes and I’m thinking if my bags are enough for our four-day baggage.

Now that my two girls are fast growing up they can’t share their bag, they have their own separate luggage unlike when they were toddlers. I’m seeing some bags which I’ll buy for our December fellowship. I’ve seen some quality suitcases, luggage and bags and I’m thinking what’s the best buy among them, I saw some Samsonite, Kipling, Rimowa and many other brands. Learning and Improving Her Craft

I had a chat with my architect friend few weeks ago and she’s informing me of the latest updates of her works. She decided to leave her regular employment in consultancy firm to concentrate on contracting her own residential and building projects. She didn’t want to be employed for a long time because she really wanted to make it on her own, to have her own construction firm. Now she ventured into international business having her clients in Dubai and nearby cities. She was very happy on her accomplished dream and she told me about her gained knowledge on her present projects. She should know every modern technology on construction business so she can apply them on her projects locally and internationally.

She excitedly told me that all of her knowledge in our previous company has helped her a lot in dealing with engineers and clients. Now that construction have advanced technologically she’s learning all modern techniques in building construction like using insulated concrete forms to construct building and residential grade walls and basement. There are lots of things to be learned and she’s looking forward to know all of those things that will help her improve her knowledge.

1. Tell us about a night that you spent with someone who was a stranger, yet by the end of the night you were very close.

~ I was not alone I was with a group doing technical proposal in our company and I was introduced to someone from our joint venture company. He was very enthusiastic about finishing the work and very accommodating and jolly even if we're all tired and pressured. By the end of the night (actually we reached early morning) he acts as if he's one of us and he became close to our technical group. He's an officer from one of the major telco.
2. When is the last time you rode the bus?
~ Last month with DH and Josh when we came from our midweek bible study.
3. Describe the last time you stood up for a cause.
~ Many years ago when I was still a college student, I can't post the details but it was an overwhelming experience.

~ Setting up our own business, just a little apprehensive I think not really afraid.

~ I've already accomplished it. My two house projects.

Good Progress in Healthy Diet

I was happy with my progress in losing weight as my cravings for sweets and fatty foods decreases. Well except for chocolate of course because I still eat dark chocolate with moderation. The package from my SIL didn’t help as it arrived last week and it consisted of my favorite chocolate brands. Anyway they say dark chocolate is not bad so I’m not guilty.

I’ve learned that proper diet is not skipping meals but eating your meals light and properly. It’s fine to eat rice if your viand is vegetable or fish. I’m eating my vegetables double the serving of rice so half a cup of rice with a cup of veggies is just right for a healthy diet. Try to eat fruits before your meal because by the time you’ve eaten your fruits you’re not anymore that hungry, it works for me! I eat full meal at breakfast but very light at dinner and early at night before 7pm.

Well that’s few of the things I’ve done with my meals coupled with walking around our compound after every break at blogging and it made me loose some inches on the belly. I’m still miles away from my desired weight but I’m happy that my efforts and discipline are working for me. Now even if my friend suggested two months ago that I take natural weight loss pills I think I don’t need it right now. I can still manage to do it on my own plan.

What’s the Next Project?

I’m glad that we’ve finally finished our project no. 2 in the house which is the fence and gate construction. We just have to add some nice grills to harmonize and balance the overall design. Now we’re thinking what should be our next project which we’ll start next year. I have the master bedroom renovation project still hanging in my list and the replacement of our ground floor tiles.

We’ll think about what’s more urgent then we’ll choose among the two. As for the replacement of our vinyl floor tiles I’ve searched a lot online and offline for the materials and I found some nice tiles in different type and design including that of granite tile which is also used for offices because of its durability. Well I have to think, compare prices and check my allocated budget before choosing. I don’t want to spend all my money on it. I must have some savings left for my next project.

He's Enough to Make Me Feel Better!

I’m feeling a little bit dizzy after last night’s overnight. I had few tasks to finish and when I’ve submitted them all I realized that I had less than an hour to sleep before my regular waking time. I decided to continue with my work and deprived myself of sleep because in less than one hour I have to cook and assist my girls before their service picks them up. I’m an early riser and if I worked up to 3am my desire to sleep will vanish. So it’s before 3am or not to sleep. I decided on the latter that’s why I’m dizzy but still I can’t sleep.

To forget about my not so good feeling of dizziness and nausea I went to grocery and market near Josh’ school and just before they finish their school time I was there outside his room waiting for him. He’s surprised and happy that I’m there, also with some of his fave foods and drinks. That's how I remedied my sickness, just a smile from my baby is enough to make me feel better :-)

Busy on Weekends

I’m always running out of time on weekends because there’s always something to do and my powers can’t beat my scheduled works. My kids seems so tired after a week-long studying and they’re taking advantage of their day off from school to watch their favorite shows on cable and on DVD. I’m not that well also but I have to be strong for my kids as they suddenly felt hot this evening. They suddenly had a fever and I’m just lucky that my Mom was very patient in her massage therapy with her grand kids, they’re feeling a lot better now.

We dined in one of the restaurants along Kamias Ave. near our church and Josh instantly love my chicken curry order. It's his first time to taste it and he love it so when we arrived home he asked me to cook chicken curry in our house. Our Town's 438th Founding Anniversary

Our town celebrated 438th anniversary last Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and as always the parade composed of representatives from schools, offices, establishments, NGOs, government employees and various sectors. It took more than an hour before the parade was finished and the whole place was congested of vehicles and people.

I still long for the grand parades several years ago when almost all participants had their own planned presentation on the road. We’re always looking forward for Nov. 30 parade then and missing it was such a great loss because it was really beautiful. Well time and season changes everything and maybe it’s the present economic condition that affect traditions. I just thank God that after the big flood the people of our town successfully moved on from the disastrous event that happened two months ago. God is good all the time….

I've posted here one of Pinoy's favorite everyday snack 'banana-q' and almost everyone love it or other saba banana variations such as maruja, turon and saba fritters. Sometimes they cooked saba in caramel syrup and put milk and crushed ice to make Saba con Hielo. It's easy to do this one as you'll only deep fry banana in oil and put brown sugar in it until it gets syrup and covered the whole banana. Then just put a stick in the center and voila you have a yummy banana-q!

Patience and Temperance Helped Me

Most of the times we really need to stay cool whenever hot situation arises. I just don’t know why some people don’t know the proper ethics of good manners in corporate environment. I dislike people who don’t have backbones to stand to their mistakes and blame on innocent people who are not anymore in the loop... During my employment days I always tell my staff not to put blame on others who were not anymore employed in the company whenever they were put into not-so good situation with the boss. It’s alright to mention responsibilities but to completely put the blame on resigned employees is a no-no. They should take responsibilities for their job and if it’s not their fault try to think of ways to explain to superiors that it’s not them who handled it but will try to solve the problem in whatever way you can possibly do.

In my several years of working I can’t remember a single situation where I put my colleague in a bad light especially with my boss as sometimes your jurisdiction may tarnish an innocent person. We should be careful with the words we say because it might ruin someone’s reputation and if the words were said already you can’t put it back. With situation like this I really need patience and temperance to guide my thoughts as I’m only human and as a human I can’t stop myself from feeling hurt and disappointed over trusted colleagues that let me down.

Let's get healthy this week as my entry today is coleslaw salad, a combination of cabbage, mayonnaise, dash of salt, pinch of pepper with toppings of cucumber and tomatoes. Hmmm this is so good for me especially after eating fried chicken, it's as if I'm eating in fastfood resto where you can have this as side dish. Btw you can add variations to mayo if you want to further improve it.

Car Problem

We’re having second thoughts on our car mechanic because he just keeps on delaying our schedule for the car repair. I really want to know if he’s going to repair our car or we’ll just have other repair shop pick it up. Days are quickly passing by and we need it in good shape for our long travel for December camp meeting. I also need it to be ready for its yearly auto insurance early next year. I’m discussing this problem with my sister and hubby and they agreed to have the car picked up by another repair shop though it’s more expensive that way.

This is my entry for this week's theme of Thursday Challenge's Music. This is a wooden statue of a Filipino native playing a native musical instrument made of bamboo. The natives don't buy musical instruments in the past, if they want to have music they make their own musical instruments which for me is very ingenius and resourceful.
