TC: Green - Picnic Grove Park

>> Thursday, March 24, 2011

for fun and learning
"GREEN" (Plants, Cloths, Cars, Toys, Houses,...)

This is our favorite place when we want to relax and rest from the bustle of city life.  This is Tagaytay Picnic Grove, a park with a breathtaking view of Taal lake and volcano.  This park is nestled  at the slopes of Tagaytay Ridge and has a mild temperature because of the high altitude. All around the park are  lushes of green plants, trees and grass that's why I've chosen this one as my entry to Thursday Challenge.  This place is a popular destination for students on field trips, couples, tourists, local and foreign visitors and groups like us.  It has cottages, camp areas where we frequent most, playgrounds, restaurants and function halls.  We often stay on  picnic tables and sheds and do some grill cooking there.

"METAL" (Metallic, Steel, Bronze, Gold, Iron, Shinny,...)

These are shots from my daughter's Science exhibit which she attended together with her classmates.  They've rounded up several booths showing gadgets, machines and some science innovations.  It's fun for them and I'm glad she brought the camera with her bringing home plenty of pictures for my photo storage :D.

See how they test the Magnetizer/Demagnetizer here,  they just love this exhibit and had many group pictures around the exhibited machines.

for fun and learning
"MANY" (Candies, Crowd, Paperclips, Coins, Collections,...)

Chosen this one for my entry because I love the beautiful colors of these balloons and the presentation.  Btw this tall group of balloons was used on my son's school activities particularly the health month last year.  Each grade level presented their version of healthy foods and gave each student a small serving of their prepared food.  The student contributed for it and they're also the recipients.  It was a very festive celebration filled with foods, toys, books and contented smile of little girls and boys.

"MOVEMENT" (Shaking, Falling, Bouncing, Jumping, Curling, Sagging,...)

This is the kids' photo on one of our last travel/get together in Tagaytay Picnic Grove.  We're there to join our husband-minister for their discipleship seminar.  After having our lunch we roam around the place and stayed at the wide area for playing, kite flying and for picnic.  We just let the kids do what they want.  They played, ran, bounded, jumped and keeps on moving as if energy will last until evening lol! I just stood there and took some shots of the funny kids. My 3 kids were here too!

:TC - Green : Spider Grass

>> Thursday, April 15, 2010

I was intrigued by the shape of this grass when I took the shot and it was some seconds before I surmised that it's indeed a spider-shaped grass specially cut and shaped to look like a spider. I find these Green spider grass unique and quite beautiful in its own way. As my little boy loves super heroes specially Spiderman he was excited to see this shot. This shot was taken in my little boy's educational tour in Bio Research in ParaƱaque.

"MUSIC" (Guitar, Playing an Instrument, Things that make sounds, iPods,
Sheet Music, Noisy Things,...)

This is my entry for this week's theme of Thursday Challenge's Music. This is a wooden statue of a Filipino native playing a native musical instrument made of bamboo. The natives don't buy musical instruments in the past, if they want to have music they make their own musical instruments which for me is very ingenius and resourceful.

This shot was taken in the entrance area of Manila Zoo during my daughters' educational tour.

"GOLDEN"
(Gold-colored, Gold Plated, Yellow, Sun Flowers, Jewellery, Blonde, First-rate, Special,...)

This 'Golden' colored toddler shoes was shot in one of the famous shoe department store in Araneta Center. I was shopping with my kids and trying to find black shoes for Josh and pretty slippers for my girld when these pair of shoes caught my attention. Actually its the color and size that made me look at it twice then I grabbed my cam and took a shot. It's so cute and I can't help myself from taking a shot even though I was aware that I'll might get attention. So I'm sharing these shoes with you guys, isn't it real cute?

"ART" (Paintings, Drawings, Murals, Graffiti, Crafts, Brushes, Pens, Pencils,...)

This is a shot from Josh' educational tour to Philippine Airforce Museum which also gave me hundreds of interesting shots like this one which shows some of the airforce activities. This painting was done several years ago gauging from the look of the painting and how the museum present it. Everything that's been shown in the airforce museum is assumed to be old collections.

"FRESH" (Water, Fruit and Vegetables, Flowers, Clean, Air, New,...)

See
Win Charles as he plays around this fresh water river on their last visit to his parents' hometown in Nabas, Aklan last April this year. Winwin as he fondly called by his family was undeniable enjoying his time here as there's nothing like this river in their place in Manila. I understand his excitement over things and places in the province compared to the bustling city where they live. Even old folks will enjoy this kind of clean and fresh water.

"CURVED" (Roads, Buildings, Shapes, Bowed, Arch, Bubbles,...)

This is the curved roads of Laguna. We're on our way here from our house to our hometown in Laguna to visit our cousins and relatives there. This road is near the top of the mountain where Rizal and Laguna province separates or what we call the boundary. This place has an expanse of long curving roads because the mountain sides was constructed merely to be able to cross the mountain in reaching Laguna from Manila. Way back when we were kids there were no road signs and no metal fences around so travel is very dangerous, a bus actually almost dropped down the cliff.

Rare Coins

My entry for this week's theme are some of my collection of old coins which for me are rare these days as these coins were replaced by many generation of silver coins. These coins were made in early '70s and my collection dates from 1972 to 1974. These coins are very different with the latest coins as it has money value. I've learned from one of my former office mate that in their place these coins were bought at P600 and up. Actually they sell some of their collections. When I was still in primary and secondary schooling it's my hobby to collect stamps and old coins. These One-Peso coins are my favorites as it has a deep engraved face of Jose Rizal's, Philippine National Hero. You can gauge from the picture that it's really rare, just see how old it is.

EARTH (Sky, Clouds, Mountain, Sea)

This is the view of Mindoro from ferry boat leading to that island also. The view is very breathtaking as you can see everything 'earth' and nature here. See the clouds behind the mountain and the sea? Makes me yearn for a relaxing vacation in this beautiful province. My brother went there for an outreach ministry in one of their churches there.

'Lechon Manok On Fire'

I picked this one for my entry because I want this photo taken last December on Christmas day during our camp meeting. Since we're on a faraway villa and we want to feast on grilled chicken we improvised this rotisserie made of woods from the tree. One brother was rotating it manually on one side to even out the grilling. Isn't it creative? From what I remembered we roasted more than 10 chicken. We had it for lunch in addition to pork mechado.

CPU

My Little Technician at Work (Do not disturb!)

This is the Central Processing Unit of my sister's personal desktop computer, the POWER inside any computer. We opened it because it bogged down and we replaced its power supply. When my son Josh saw us tinkering with the computer's hardware he asked us to let him put the screw back into each places and there he had the case closed perfectly.

>> Thursday, July 2, 2009

These are my fellow brethren in the church, most of them here are our ministers in our church., deacons and the young ministers. This photo was taken during our December Camp Meeting in Villa Dominga Forest Resort in Indang, Cavite just beside Tagaytay City where we had our camp fellowship for three days. This was our last day and this was shot before we travel back to our homes. You can see their faces here enjoying the photo session :-). It was an enjoyable camp fellowship there last December last year and we've booked again for next December.
