Work Place

>> Saturday, April 21, 2012

In my work we’re not sure if we’re still staying in the same office address next year because my boss instructed me to extend our contract for 2 consecutive quarters only. I was glad that we didn’t transfer to Makati City because that would mean 2-3 hours time allowance in the morning just to get there. It would also mean that I’ll be too much late going home.

Right after college graduation I stayed away from any job opportunities on that place because it’s not only far from home but will cost me a lot of expenses too. If only I had one of those mobile homes for sale then maybe I could have placed it near my work place and I will not worry about the long distance and travel time. Anyway I really liked those models of mobile homes – their style and quality it offers.

Commercial Pest Control Services

>> Thursday, October 21, 2010

We associate pests commonly to residential houses but I’ve known many office establishments have been infested also of cockroaches, mosquitoes and rats. It’s actually normal to me because I’ve seen it myself when I was still an Administrative Officer and was in charge of seeing all conditions in our office. Business establishments are commonly devoid of anything that will cause infestation of pests and insects except for the volume of files in stock room. But mostly offices have their own pantry like us where employees can place their food and eat there. And when they’re not that careful in maintaining it pests will suddenly invade it also because of garbage and the smell of food that was eaten there.

I used to impose good cleaning habit when they use the pantry but some were just lazy to clean their area which made our kitchen area susceptible to cockroaches and rats which were so embarrassing to whoever visits the pantry. The spray they used was not enough to drive them away and I’m thinking that they should have it treated by pest control experts like Bulls Eye Pest Control, a Houston pest control which provides termite control, fire ant control, flea control and bee control services not only to residential houses but to commercial clients as well. After the treatment they will see to it that pests will never come back. There’s nothing to worry about when it comes to the price as they provide quality service at affordable rates.

Function and Beauty in One Room

>> Thursday, December 3, 2009

We always want our offices to look like very corporate and devoid of too much clutter. Most offices especially conference rooms I entered in looks the same with their sleek design, formal wall and ceiling colors. It’s great to have beautiful and elegant rooms but it should also has functions of its own and what’s better than having to use the walls as communication board where you can post your ideas, suggestions, marketing goals, sales achievements and many other things that perks up our imaginative mind. I really think that having Custom Bulletin Board will enrich communication among employees and will make any room like lounge and reception an enjoyable place for waiting.

North Sculpture has made this possible by offering fabric bulletin boards that can specifically suit your preferred style, size, shape and color. With this kind of walls I can see a combination of beauty, comfort, usability and function all in one good looking customized bulletin board. You can also use it as room divider, some kind of decoration and for organizing all your office stuff so it will create a very organized place to work. With its valuable use and flexibilities I can say that beautiful customized bulletin boards are a great thing to have. For more wonderful ideas and information visit BulletinBoardpanels.com and chose from among the wide range of fabric colors.

What Does Your Work Space Say About You?

>> Monday, April 20, 2009

I've been trying to tidy my workplace since I only go to office once a week this month. I wanted my place to be spotless and my files stored safely to be sure all confidential files are secured. I'm not that perfectly neat but I want my things in the proper place just in case someone called me to ask where my things are, that's my dilemma when I'm on leave I'm expected to know and memorize exactly my directories, files, documents and location of every single thing that I'm in charge of, they call me and I should perfectly know what they're asking me.

Speaking of workspace do you know what does your work space say about you? Take this test and you'll see for yourself. Here is mine:

Your Workspace Says You Work Best With Others

You are an organized and detail oriented person. You have your life in order.

You tend to work at your own pace. If this means things don't

You feel like you neglect your family and friends when you're working. You may work a bit too much.

You are still trying to figure out your ideal career. You could quit your current job on any given day.

At work, you tend to be an extrovert. You enjoy working with other people and drawing people into your work space.

Flexitime Sked

>> Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Quite happy this evening as my boss approved my request for a flexitime schedule. I've requested this schedule due to the ongoing manila-east road widening in our town which causes a lot of delay on me on my way to work. As anyone can see whenever they passes A. Bonifacio Avenue in Cainta there's a lot of mess caused by the slow demolition and clearing up. Every morning I tried to talk to anyone in the contractors' team to clear up but they would always say tomorrow. I can't actually put the blame on them as they're just a daily wage earner, I should be reporting this to the higher ranks as now I'm fearing for dengue due to new drainage construction which were done amazingly slow.

I appealed to my boss as I'm only extending my stay until they find someone to replace my position. My boss is really considerate as he immediately approved my request. It was a big help on my part as I'll have the flexibility of time to work eight hours a day and completing them conveniently. This is a good evening for me, I learned my boss' reply this night only while I'm doing some posts.

Few Employees

>> Wednesday, September 10, 2008

We’re only few here in the office as our boss and some managers were away in Cebu today up to Friday to attend the Asian Carrier Conference. Our technical engineer and my friend Winroe called me up in the morning and told me that he had an emergency call to go to their town province in Iloilo because his wife’s relative has died. He instructed his staff to take in-charge. Another person on-leave and that leave us up in small numbers here in the office. Quite peaceful because it’s also raining hard outside and everybody is thinking if we should go home early because we might pass by some flood on our way going home.

My Office

>> Saturday, July 26, 2008

This is my office and guess what I've caught some nice semi-frontal shots of it while waiting for my turn to cross the very dangerous street beside it. I was getting bored while waiting for the cars to slow down a bit so I played with my mobile phonecam and took some pictures of my office building.

It's actually a twin building but geniusly designed to make it look like a whole building. It's named after the family who owned it, it's called the BT&T Center. We're occupying the two mezzanine of the floors, it's reserved for the owner. All floors can be rented except the mezzanine and when you're inside the building you'll feel very private, it's peaceful and quiet inside. The view from glass windows and walls are also spectacular with the eastwood buildings on the left and the hills of Rizal province on the far right.

Lunch Break Relaxation

>> Wednesday, July 23, 2008

This is our conference room where we most of the times rest during lunch breaks and that’s when there’s no meeting, training or conference held in it. It’s kind of relaxing for us because this room looks over Libis area where you can see Antipolo Hills beyond Eastwood buildings. Right in front of the blue-glass windows you can see cars passing by the road and trees swaying their branches on a windy afternoon. We just sit there and have some chit chat, I sometimes get pen and paper and write. It’s nice writing when you’re in a relaxed mood.

Junior Boss' Birthday

>> Wednesday, July 16, 2008

It’s my boss’ birthday, Sir Bobby turned one year older again. He ordered food at our usual favorite stores, pancit canton and bihon, lechon manok, barbeque, salad and many others. Sir Bob our senior boss was here already before lunch. One thing I’m thinking though – birthday celebrant don’t seem to age rapidly. He still looks as young as years ago. Now I believe chinky-eyed persons just like my bes JennyL looks younger than deep-set eyes people. Just a thought though!

Working Essentials!

>> Sunday, July 13, 2008

To start my work I have to make sure that I have all these things beside me, personal computer, good internet connection, gateway equipment, mobile phone, calculator, printer, pen, notebook and planner. Everyday upon reaching my cubicle I would place my essential things in front of me. I need all of these to complete my work including my mobile phone which is necessary all throughout the day when my boss communicates to me when he’s out of the office. He even calls other employees through my phone even if they also have phones with them. Without any one of these things I couldn’t work comfortably well. Just sharing!
