:WS - Kids at World of Fun

>> Monday, September 21, 2009

These shots were actually taken during Josh' birthday few days ago, just want to share their fun at playing in arcade. I love accompanying them to arcade once in a while as it brings back my childhood memories of good fun. I just have some worries sometimes on crowded place like this one as kids can easily be lost and snatched by others so I'm very careful with paying close attention on them. I encourage them to play on parallel booths so I can watch them all! Anyway as the arcade's name is World of Fun, it's really fun!

:WS - Induction of Officers

>> Monday, August 17, 2009

VenueInduction of General PTCA officers by Hon. Mayor Mon IlaganShort speech by Hon. Gov. Casimiro Ynares Jr.
Our group Grade V-1 level (before induction)During induction

We had the first ever induction of officers where all homeroom officers from all grade level and section were included not just the usual general PTCA officers. The only difference is that the general PTCA were inducted on the stage and all homeroom were there offstage because we're 200 plus in numbers. All previous induction only includes general PTCA officers but since we're aiming for a general project which we're requesting from our municipality and provincial desk we organized a rare occasion like this.

We're assigned in the food committee which made it more difficult for us in grade V level (orange group) because we didn't expected a very big crowd and we used all our budgeting skills and talents to serve the foods to them. Oh boy that's too much! I was tired from head to toes! Lucky that one of us cooked baked macaroni for our food after the event or else we're gonna be starved. Though we're tired and haggard after the event and dismayed that I didn't get a pic with mayor and young governor we were happy enough. We were laughing happily at our faults and experiences in serving the food. We'll get more organized and possibly better next time! Next time? Hope we'll not be in the food committee again :-) Wishes!

These are snapshots from last week's SJES celebration of Nutrition week which started with the parade of students with slogans and baskets of nutritional foods. Then they had a program which showcased contest of slogans which I've featured in my other blog. It's the first time that they celebrated Nutrition Week with cooking competition played by PTA officers of all grade levels. Each color represents one grade level from 1 to 6. I just posted 3 groups here. The pink group gets the prize of 1 sack of rice for bagging the 1st prize for their burger patties made of banana heart. I'll feature the menu entries in Food Friday later this week.

:WS - Last Visit to Uncle

>> Monday, July 27, 2009

Few minutes before the rain with my niece
and my god daughter Sheila
While having some slight raindrops the view of
Sierra Madre Mt. behind us suddenly gets dark!
The view looks beautiful even on cloudy rainy days!

Here's few of the shots taken in our hometown in Laguna where sceneries of mountains, trees, clouds and skies are so beautiful. Just can't have a clearer shot than this because of the weather.

We were there on the 18th of this month because my uncle, the only living sibling of my Mom died last July 15. He's a very loving and humorous uncle that the whole town just can't get enough of his funny antics. Ever since he was young from what Mom remembers of his big brother he always have some funny jokes about something. Until now his grandchildren would always tell us that they will be missing his jokes and funny attitude over something.

Everyone in town loves him and so we are! He's very strong even in his eighties but suddenly a month ago he began resting on his house and just stayed on his bed. He didn't have any sickness at all, seems like he suddenly felt like resting. I just put in my mind that we all have our own timeline with God, in time when it's your time to leave the world He'll take you even if you're not suffering from any sickness. He's 86 years old when he died, happy and healthy!

:WS - My Despedida

>> Monday, July 20, 2009

Finally after more than one year of my resignation I was finally approved for early retirement. It was a very happy day for me as I see my plans will finally pursue. I wasn't informed that there will be some sort of despedida for me and it wasn't until few minutes before lunchtime that I was told by Berry, the youngest girl of my boss that they have prepared some food to feast on as my despedida. My despedida was both attended by my officemates from both companies and we feasted on chicken curry, lumpiang shanghai and pancit. Later I've bought ice cream for our desserts.

Those are few of my shots, first one with some of my officemates and the second one with Sir Bob's children, Ms. Berry and my junior boss Sir Bobby. I like their smiles here, makes me feel touched with their thoughtful words and valuable effort in making me feel special. He joked and told me not to cry lol! I'm not the least teary-eyed though I'm touched!

I served for the two companies of my boss for more than 16 years, ten years on consultancy doing technical proposals and bidding projects and 6 years on BT&T Telecoms/Network Corp. doing multi-task on being Billing & Collection Officer, Accounting Supervisor, Administrative and Human Resource Officer. Actually even if I have no educational background on all these jobs because I'm a Computer Eng'g. graduate I've learned the skills through experience. I thanked Sir Bob for letting me learned all of it. It was a privilege for me.

I had some talk with my younger boss and he arranged everything for this final day.

:WS - They Love Music!

>> Monday, June 15, 2009

Everytime my kids visit my big brother's house they always sit on the piano and play as if they know how to play it. Here's Ruth and Josh posing for me to have them pictured at the piano. They love it.

This piano was my father's piano way back 1945 which kuya restored and have it tuned to perfect condition. His three children are studying piano and they're very keen on playing it especially my eldest nephew Raph who knows at least 5 musical instruments. It's in my mom's blood and our children inherited that flair for music. My grandpa used to play alpha and some instruments on his prime.

:WS - Mom's 77th Birthday!

>> Monday, June 1, 2009

Mom celebrated her 77th birthday last Saturday the 30th of this month. It's her happiest birthday to date as the gift she has received from God surpassed all material gifts. God has given her another chance to see the beautiful creations of God. She's even happier when our close relatives went all the way from Laguna to greet Mom! They brought many foods you'll think they're the host :-) Actually we didn't invite anyone but we cooked spaghetti, afritada, barbeque and lots of dessert. All of our guests brought some kind of food like maja mais, kare-kare and many more.

WS : Shopping for My Girls

>> Monday, May 25, 2009

It’s shopping once again and this time it’s at SM because the store is just a walking distance from our church and we want a one-stop shop for my girls especially for their bags and shoes. We’ll shop for Josh next week as we have little time to spare.

Just the same Josh excitedly goes over the store’s display of shoes as he said ‘Mommy I know what I will buy next’. We shop for less than an hour including some window shopping – the things that we will buy next time we return. Being satisfied with their choices we headed back to our church stopping awhile in Jollibee (where Daddy is there with church friends) for their Ice Craze and Ice Cream!
