Heading on to their Silver Anniversary

>> Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Some of my school friends who married young before they even reached 20 years of age have grown up kids that have graduated from college already. When we get to discuss about their early experience of married life they would happily talk about the adjustment and hardship of early responsibilities in life. But they were proud that despite of the trials that they have gone through they’ve successfully passed with flying colors. They have managed well with perseverance and hard work.

Now in less than five years time they will be having their silver wedding anniversary and one of them wanted those diamond engagement rings she found online instead of the regular wedding ring. Well that’s not bad at all because it looks like a wedding ring also and who cares if those were meant for engagement. The most important thing is the love that binds them together throughout these years.

New Plans for Anniversary

>> Saturday, April 10, 2010

It’s less than a month now before we celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary and just this afternoon I laughed at how my kids are planning our special day when they saw our wedding invitations. Actually they don’t forget the exact date as it seems etched on their young minds. They’re asking me to cook a special recipe and buy them their favorite cake on our wedding anniversary.

They’re so excited when they suddenly remember that we usually dine out on every anniversary that we had. I saw their faces suddenly lost their excitement so I told them that I’m going to make it a family wedding anniversary and they will go with us on our dinner date. They eyes rolled and they regained their excitement again. Will tell it to DH later.

Our Town's 438th Founding Anniversary

>> Thursday, December 3, 2009

Our town celebrated 438th anniversary last Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and as always the parade composed of representatives from schools, offices, establishments, NGOs, government employees and various sectors. It took more than an hour before the parade was finished and the whole place was congested of vehicles and people.

I still long for the grand parades several years ago when almost all participants had their own planned presentation on the road. We’re always looking forward for Nov. 30 parade then and missing it was such a great loss because it was really beautiful. Well time and season changes everything and maybe it’s the present economic condition that affect traditions. I just thank God that after the big flood the people of our town successfully moved on from the disastrous event that happened two months ago. God is good all the time….

Our 12th Wedding Anniversary

>> Sunday, May 4, 2008

Another year has passed and now it’s our 12th wedding anniversary. Years pass by quickly and I’m happy that we’ve reached this 12th year still very much in love. I’ve never imagined that I could fall seriously in love with a guy younger than me, but with Ed who have enough maturity to handle relationship and family all my inhibitions about marrying someone your junior was diminished.

During our 12 years of marriage he kept us in the center of God’s love standing to his position as a loving husband, responsible father and a good minister of God. In the house we looked up to each other just like friends in love ‘coz we started out as close friend in our Christian community.

Again, as every year of our lives I always thank God for his wonderful blessing to us not on the material side but on giving me and my kids a wonderful hubby and father who loves and cares for us deeply. Since it falls on a Sunday we had our little celebration at the mall near the church and had our desserts and snack at McDonalds with my sis Redge.
