Busier But Happier

>> Monday, May 31, 2010

I’ve done some repair on our sofa’s seat covers and after washing it looked good enough although I still would want customized slipcovers for the sofa because it will look fitted and nicely covered. Anyway I’m just too busy to fix everything now but I’ll arrange it as soon as I’m free. I thought that I will have plenty of time when I resigned from my office job several months ago but I’m wrong as I’m busier and more active now. Well despite the busy schedule that I have with tons of tasks to do I’m happier now with my life as I can have both quality and quantity time for my family.

The Reasons in Gaining Weight

>> Friday, May 28, 2010

We have many occasions and birthdays this month of May in our family. The closest are Iya for her christening on the first day of May and Matt, Raphael, Princess and my dear Mom for their birthdays. That’s the reason why I find it hard to lose weight fast without the help of weight loss products. I’ve blogged on my other blogs about my journey to losing my weight through semi-cleansing diet and walking exercise but when occasions come it would be snobbish if I don’t eat or mingle, not the usual me of course. It’s even tempting on most occasions when I’m the one who cooks our food.

Well through it all I lost some bulges in my tummy but this week I think I didn’t lose any because almost every other day there are eat over and birthdays. Well counting the calories that I eat on those occasions I think I’ll be going back to start again if I don’t control myself now. I really need some discipline and control now if I really want to continue losing some weight.

:FF/FTF : Siomai Soup

Now it rained and it cooled down the hot temperature this night. I'm looking forward to a nice steaming soup like this one which I called Siomai soup because I forgot to ask its name when Iya had her christening. It's a starter to a lunch or dinner buffet. I got the name from the contents of the soup which are steamed pork siomai, molo wraps (I think :-)) and some ingredients for the soup itself. I'm sorry for the guess as I'm just a visitor there and not the cook.
Anyway it's a good starter especially if you're hungry enough to eat a couple of horses as what the old folks has been telling me when I was a child in our hometown province. Well pork siomai is my favorite and I also like it without the soup, steamed or fried is perfect for me with chili sauce hmm yummy!

Bonding With Your Loved Ones

>> Thursday, May 27, 2010

Summer is a good time to bond with your family with fun-filled activities or just unwind your senses in your patio on outdoor chaise lounges. It’s always relaxing to spend a hot summer afternoon outside your house in the backyard with your kids playing scrabble, chess or you can couple it with grilling some barbecues or hotdogs. It would be more fun with all of the family members present but if they have work you can do it on weekends.

You can choose to spend it daytime or at night depending on what your plans are. Just remember that when you’re with your loved ones every minute is a perfect moment.

Losing Weight the Healthy Way

I’ve always loved losing some weight without resorting to pills because I believe in healthy weight loss. For the whole month of May I’m doing a semi-cleansing diet and it works well on me. I’m getting good results on my tummy which was quite big before I started the diet. Well I heard about irvingia gabonensis weight loss and it’s also proven to give great results aside from being nutritional enough for those who doesn’t want unnatural ingredients. Maybe I’ll be able to tell it to some of my friends who have problems in obesity, high blood pressure and blood sugar.

The 8-5 Employee

Graphics for Work

Are you the regular employee who has an 8am-5pm schedule? Chances are you’re always looking for the much awaited bell in the bundy informing everyone that it’s 5:00 pm already. I’ve worked for 19 years in 5 companies but it’s not always been an 8-5 work schedule for me as I had jobs with shifting schedule.

I experienced a three shifting work schedule and rounded almost all of the shifts including 6am-2pm, 2-10pm and 10pm-6am when I was in my first job in semi-conductor/electronics Company. I love the night schedule as it seems faster than any shift we have. In the government where I worked in an 8-5 schedule the employees really get out at exactly 5 pm unlike when I transferred in private companies where schedule is more flexible depending on your kind of work. I used to go home past 5pm or later if my boss required me to finish our bidding proposals.

I hate rushing up to go out of the office at exactly 5pm because I don’t want to feel banded by time constraints. I had a very difficult multi-tasking job and before I go home I want to relax a bit, have coffee and tidy all my things and my seatmate’s table before I go out of the office. I don’t want to work the next morning with plenty of due tasks so I end the day with my work completed or updated. When I already have kids I rushed going home but I never beat the 5pm clock. I chose the 9-6 schedule so I have ample time in the morning to arrange my kids’ things in going to school and prepare their food for the whole day.

Now it’s easier to work at home because you have the ability to manage your time, more flexible and perfect for Moms like me. How about you? Do you manage your work time well?

My 3 Project Plans

I’ve observed that my kitchen is quite old and needs some renovation. Since it’s more than 5 kilometers long I find it out of the current kitchen fashion designs. I want a somewhat square-shaped kitchen and I’m thinking of using a different kind of tile like metal tile to make my kitchen look more polished and clean. Now as I already have project 3 for our master bedroom renovation and project no. 4 as our family room construction in line right now I’m going to tag my kitchen renovation as my project no. 5. Guess I’ll be needing lots of finances for these projects so I have to work, work and work.

Feeling Lighter with Walking Exercise

I feel great these past few weeks as I’m getting back to my old walking exercises. When DD started her summer refresher course I didn’t hire their school service but instead assigned myself in fetching her every morning. DH offered to drop her in going to school so in the second week I was there for DD to fetch her. Since I haven’t buy or follow any weight loss formula other than my semi-cleansing meal plan I started my walking exercise. It was the perfect time for me as I can walk from the corner of the street to the school and back again.

It’s a morning class so when we go home the sun is only starting to send its heat. Now when I count the kilometers I walk every morning I was glad to note that I walk around 2 kilometers in the morning and another 1 kilometer in the late afternoon in our community grounds. I know its doing me good not only to look slimmer but to feel fit also. I feel lighter now than I was 2 months ago and it’s a great feeling.

Manic Monday #209

If you could write your own bill of rights, what would you include?

I think all the bill of rights that I want is there already. I want those people in-charge of implementing those bills to do it with perseverance, honesty and dedication. What's the use of bills or rules if it's not being practiced and implemented to the true meaning of the word. Bill of rights will remain few sentences of meaningless words if the government will not use it to benefit the people.

What is going on in the world today that affects you the most?

Global warning, El NiƱo and natural catastrophes but I know these things will really happened as written in the old holy book. These are signs and warning to people, a reminder also of how abusive we are to Mother Nature. When these things happen I pray to God that He'll protect us from any harm.

What do you think is the secret to a good life?

A secret to a good life is putting God first in everything that we do. We should put God in the center of our lives and you'll see that everything will be in the right place. You'll find happiness, peace and contentment in Him.

Business Plans

>> Sunday, May 23, 2010

I have many things in mind now and the one which is taking most of my thoughts is our plan to go back to our meat products’ business. We really want that to pursue this time and I’m hoping that we’ll be successful with the initial phase and all succeeding phases. It’s really hard to decide which business to take because you really have to be careful about investing your money.

Well there are many other investments like houses, lots, jewelries and precious metals. I read about one kind where you have to buy gold bullion as a form of investment and I find it very interesting. We all know that precious metals like gold appreciate its value so it really sounds good to put your investment.

You are conservative, old fashioned, and a little stubborn. You are resistant to change.

You are a good communicator. You work hard to get your ideas across effectively.

:FF/FTF: Pork Bopis

>> Friday, May 14, 2010

This is one of the menu in Iya's christening which was prepared by her grampy, a little different in color to my known bopis recipe. Actually I didn't know how he made and cooked this but I know that Bopis is a spicy Filipino recipe made out of pork's heart, lungs, kidneys and intestines. You need some garlic, onions and tomatoes to saute it with. You also have to add some soy sauce, pepper, salt and sugar. For garnishing you need chili. Anyway there are other ways of cooking it depending on your taste.

My church mate used to cook it for our bible study and she sometimes adds liver and Sprite or 7-Up soft drinks in it. Well it's so perfectly delicious and I'm confident that it's clean :-). I don't buy cooked Bopis from people I don't know. I haven't had a chance to cook Bopis because I'm not so familiar with cooking pork's internal organs lol! Sometimes I can't stand the sight of them when I see them in markets. It's easier for me to look at the grounded organs or the cooked one.

Excited with Buying a Laptop

>> Thursday, May 13, 2010

I’m so excited this week as I’m planning to buy myself a new partner in blogging. Yes I think I’m going to give in to my dream of buying myself a laptop in a couple of days. I’ve consulted my hubby if I’m going to buy a Sony VAIO notebook or the laptop that I saw on sale in their store. They’re having some discounts on the same specified model I want and I’m planning to buy it in their store.

Well I saw the discounted package on other store but I want to make my purchase on hubby’s company. It’s been the practice in our family to buy and patronize hubby’s company store whenever the product is available on them. Anyway they have the best deals compared to other appliance stores so it’s really best to buy our home and electronics appliances there. It will also add up to their branch accumulated sales for the month.

Shopping for School Plans

We’re planning to shop for the kids’ school things at the end of this month after the busy schedule so we can shop at our most convenient time. It’s not easy to shop for three kids at one time but I’ve already bought them school shoes at the start of summer vacation so I will not so tired when I shop at our usual department store. It’s easier to look for school bags because we don’t have to look for sizes unlike shoes and uniforms where you fit the items to your kids. It’s also the same with shopping for blouses, dress, skirts and lingerie that you have the best fitting because it will not look good.

Anyway my mind is far from that now as I don’t want to shop for myself. This month will only be for my dear little and not so little kids. My focus and attention is only for their schooling and their needs. Well after the school opening is over maybe I can shop for some little nice things for myself.

Working As A Team

Myspace Teamwork Graphics Quotes

Have you ever been in a team where there is only one goal? The goal is to finish whatever work or project is assigned to the team. Well I’ve been to that many times but the best I can say was when I was with the Technical Proposal team of DSI. We’re always working for certain bidded projects and through all the efforts, overnights and hard work we’re all set to one goal- and that is to finish the proposal before the submission time.

Even before we begin with the initial phase of doing proposal our minds were set to our due date that no matter how hard the project is we’re going to deliver it in good quality and on time. We can’t do it alone and we need the help of every member of our team. Our boss heads the company, our Vice President looked over the rest of the team, I headed the encoders and graphic artist, supervise the other members who were responsible for photocopying, binding, notarization and delivery. In our team there are no big or small positions because every one is important. We can’t finish it perfectly without the full cooperation of the team.

Well the pressure is so strong then and at times we felt like giving up especially on 3 consecutive sleepless nights where mind seems to wander due to tension, physical tiredness and lack of sleep. But when we have submitted our finished project and won the bid after several days we feel like achievers. If not for the whole team and for the hands that worked on the project our work will not be finished on time.

Why I Don’t Want to Drive

I’ve been asked many times by my friends why I don’t want to learn how to drive and I always answer them with a shrug and a wink which means I really don’t want to. Why? Because I love to travel and when I’m traveling I like thinking about my business plans and I write also. If I’m driving I won’t be able to do it because driving demands concentration on the road. Another reason is I feel tired when I see my hubby driving through the traffic jam. When I’m alone and I’m caught up in a traffic I just sit at the passenger vehicle and do nothing but if I’m the driver I’ll have to be alert on the road. In short traveling for me is like resting your body and mind from everyday worries and anxieties. It gives me a pleasure of enjoying the ride and making the most of the moment to think and plan.

Well there are other reasons but I don’t close my mind to the opportunity of driving but I’ll just wait for the time that I’ll be looking forward to this new experience. Anyway I love seeing beautiful cars and nice accessories and find it worthwhile to look at different ideas car owners have for their cars. I heard about custom bumper stickers and parking permits online. Yes you can have your own customized permit by designing your own tags for parking. You can choose from the varied designs they have at mavericklabel.com.

Now you can have own personalized parking permit suited to your personal satisfaction. With their wide variety of quality materials and styles you can be sure to pick up the one suited to your taste. You can have the quotations online and order it from there or by phone whichever is convenient for you. You can have as fast as 4 days or less and in good quality that can last for a long period of time perfect for outdoor use.

Finding the Right Time to Work

I find it hard to work on long hours now as I’ve been loaded with offline tasks that need a lot of supervision. I also need to spend sometime with the kids as after this month the school will start and I will not be able to be with them the whole day. I’m just happy that my online work is flexible enough to be scheduled on my own plan. I can work in the morning, afternoon or in the evening whatever is convenient and applicable for my busy schedule.

Well now I find it comfortable working in the afternoon even if the hours seem to invite me to have siesta or afternoon nap. I’d like to work while almost every one is sleeping and resting because that’s the time that my mind works best. In the morning I have to cook, clean up and do some errands and at night I have to make sure that my kids had their dinner and prepared for sleeping before I can even begin to do my online tasks. I still have to prepare for DH’s dinner late at night when he arrives. Oh well sometimes it makes me so sleepy just when I’m about to write so I do bulk of my post in the afternoon. Just reminding myself always not to doze off lol!

Value of Drinking Water

>> Wednesday, May 12, 2010

I’ve been drinking a lot of water these days and this is due to my ongoing semi-cleansing diet I started three weeks ago. I also read some tips on the type and kids of food I should eat to support my healthy meal plan. I read about www.weightlossdrinks.net and it confirmed my belief on the value of drinking water. It’s more reliable and effective than any other drink that we were advised to drink while dieting.

Of course I combined my healthy intake of water with at least 3 fruits a day, 1-2 bowls of vegetables and one serving of fish or lean meat. I reduced my intake of rice to half cup a day during breakfast only. I feel very healthy and fit with my new meals and I’m hoping that it will help me to lose excess pounds and get rid of bad toxins in my body.

Happy with My Meal Plans

>> Saturday, May 8, 2010

My Mom commented on my tummy yesterday, she told me that it looks smaller now compared last month when my friends would ask if I’m preggy lol! No I didn’t used the best fat burners in town but disciplined myself into eating the right kind of food in the right amount also.

I was talking to my brother last month when I saw that he’s getting slimmer and he told me about his cleansing and fat burning program. I wanted to join but the time needed for the program conflicts my schedule so I just did what my MIL taught me about cleansing diet. Since I can’t do a crash cleansing diet I did some semi-cleansing meal plan for myself. I got used to it and after three weeks of doing it my Mom saw the result. It’s just minimal result but I’m happy to have it. I feel good about it!

Great Danger to Health

I’ve seen some sickly person in the hospital being checked up by a nurse before being examined by the resident doctor in our community hospital. When I saw that they’re being tested by spirometer I could tell immediately that they’re smokers and I can tell by their looks that they really need some immediate treatment.

Smoking is really bad for the health and I feel bad that some people realized it only when they have already acquired dangerous sickness from chain smoking. I was thinking if they know that once you smoke cigar you’ll be deducting your life span with precious minutes of your life. They’re also putting their kids into trouble because they make them susceptible to respiratory diseases also. Oh such bad vices!

This is one of my kids' fave when we're dining in KFC. It's new when we ordered and looking at it I was really expecting that it's as yummy as all food in KFC. Well the kids love it especially that it's really hot and fresh when they tasted it. They even want to order some more but they're full enough. I told Josh that I can make it more delicious than this because I find this one not that super good as compared with KFC's foodies. Btw it's cheese dipped in a mixture of flour and spices I think (correct me if I'm wrong, just tasted it once)

We're always eating there and I love their chicken burgers, chicken, french fries, brownies, soup and I like having their juices without additional amount ( in other fast food you'll have to add just to convert softdrinks for juice which is pricey for me). I drink softdrinks or cola on occasions only so i prefer meal package with choices on drinks. Anyway as long as the kids enjoy it I'll still order it but I'm hoping for some improvement :-) Oh well I'm really a blogger and I just made a review on this food lol! Just my opinion really!
