Just posted my favorite bread in every bakeshop I happen to pass by, it's the old good 'pianono' (have I spelled it correctly?). Just can't resist this type of baked goodies and it's been my favorite since I was a child. During those days there's only one flavor and color and that's the creamy colored pianono. Now the bakeshop near us have 4 flavors, the original creamy one which is supposed to be marble, then they have ube, mocca and choco flavors. I love all except ube! In contrary Josh loves ube! This one in the pic is really yummy and tastes like cake, know what? it's only PhP3.00 per piece!!!

I’ve had many work experiences as I had around six jobs which I stayed in a company for a year and more. I’ve been to many fields of work including semiconductor, government agriculture office, transportation, construction, semiconductor, consultancy and the latest was telecommunications which for me was the most fulfilling of all as I’ve rounded up almost all departments. House Repairs

I’ve been busy the whole day monitoring the repair of our room. Our house which was constructed three decades ago is showing signs of its age and needs some renovation on some parts. I believe old houses should really be maintained properly to restore its old grandeur. I’m glad that its hubby’s brother who’s doing the repairs so I don’t have to worry about having strangers in our house. Mom is not so keen on having strangers working in our house so we really choose who’s going to work for us. My brother when he’s doing the repairs for our house assigns same people so my Mom would not feel awkward.

Hazardous to Health

I didn’t know until last two years that asbestos was found to be a hazard and not anymore the miracle mineral that it used to be. I’ve known this mineral has been used in industries and buildings for many wonderful reasons. Asbestos diminish heat that’s why even residential houses and workplaces use this to minimize the use of air conditioners.

Who would ever think in the past that this miracle mineral would cause too much harm to human beings as exposure to this mineral would cause sickness like lung cancer and mesothelioma. I’ve read news about people who worked in industries who used asbestos and I sympathize with them as exposure to asbestos caused them sickness that will take their lives eventually. I just hope that those industries they worked for will help them in anyway they can.

This is a shot from our head office christmas party last year where different wine was given to us by our suppliers and employers for inclusion in our raffle draw, it's not a big party as it's only for us. We had the grand party in one of the famous restaurant in the area. You can see different gift presentation of wine here, two of the bottles were wrap with blue ribbon while the nearest bottle was wrapped in a basket.

These shots were actually taken during Josh' birthday few days ago, just want to share their fun at playing in arcade. I love accompanying them to arcade once in a while as it brings back my childhood memories of good fun. I just have some worries sometimes on crowded place like this one as kids can easily be lost and snatched by others so I'm very careful with paying close attention on them. I encourage them to play on parallel booths so I can watch them all! Anyway as the arcade's name is World of Fun, it's really fun!

Things to Remember on Losing Weight

When I’m watching shows on TV I noticed that most of the commercials now are focused on food supplement, diet products and on food. Snack on a Lazy Afternoon

Its past lunchtime now and my eyes were slowly drooping down, today is a holiday because it’s the end of the Ramadan holiday and all my kids and sister are all here with us. I’m thinking about what snack to have now and was having an imaginary inventory of the bread in the nearest bakeshop in our area.

Well they have everything you would ask for, all flavors of cakes, egg pies, ensaymada, pianono, mamon, custard cakes, crinkles and many others. I decided on ensaymada and some loaf breads and since it’s raining this time I’m going to have coffee with it. It’s my second coffee today and it’ll be my last. I’m having a counter on my intake and I’m serious on having a maximum of two cups only per day. Just can’t resist having it on such a cold, rainy and silent afternoon, it’s nice to cuddle up too! I’ll do it when I finished my work.

A Good Cleanser!

I happened to meet an old friend of mine and we’re both surprised why we’ve grown bigger than before. She’s my school friend and the last time we saw each other several years ago was when I was still single. We had a great time remembering the past period of our school days and I shared to her what I’m doing now to somehow stop gaining weight. I’m having fresh pineapples, papaya and banana as my everyday fruit intake every afternoon. It helps my fiber supply and prevents me from gaining more pounds and hopefully lessens my fat level.

Actually it’s not just the issue of being slimmer but that of being healthy. I’ve read about colon cleanse reviews and I learned that our body needs a good cleanser to get rid of bad toxins and fatty acids. What really does it take to make the employees stay long in the company? Of course the answer to that is a good company that thinks about the welfare of employees. Some companies now gives their hired employee’s contractual positions only to save costs on other benefits that will be given when the employees reached their regular appointment. I don't really dislike foreign languages, not all of course as I want English and French but I think other languages that are being taught to us to embrace to secure better standing in job employment is not good for me as I believe that as long as I know Filipino and English language here in my own country it's enough! Of course with the exemptions on some call centers who specializes on some languages, that's ok with me. Just don't want discrimination in my own country! Peace!

Limitations on My Coffee

I’m having some limitations on drinking coffee as I’m returning to my old habit of drinking too much coffee. It’s not helping me to get rid of excess pounds on the contrary it’s adding up to my intake of sugar and milk. Yes I’m taking my coffee with milk because I love the taste of milk on coffee better than non-dairy creamer. Not that I don’t put creamer on my coffee as when I’m outside my home I take 3-in-1 coffee. You see I really love coffee on different flavors and creamers.

I realized suddenly that my discipline is running ahead of me as I can’t control it so I started drinking herbal tea instead to help my digestion and fight obesity. It’s a natural tea and known to have bitter gourd on it. There are many diet products available in the market but I know better than to grab any product that I came upon online. Earning Microsoft Certified IT Professional Credential

Years of staying in a consultancy firm and telecommunications company has exposed me to the requirements and qualifications to enter certain project contracts. In bidding for consultancy works the largest percentage or criteria goes to human resources or the proposed staff for the bidded project. You must propose a group of well qualified manpower personnel in order to win. In my experience as the supervisor in handling Technical Proposal group I was trained to identify flaws in applicant’s biodata. I have to identify and study their educational qualifications, training and seminars attended, work experiences and professional licenses or certifications.

In my last technical proposal that I’ve done with them we were bidding for a contractor service for a large Asian company. We were hoping to get the contract for Helpdesk and IT Operations. It’s a big project and we really needed it to deploy our technical staff that is nearing their contract end. We were surprised by the guidelines that a big score will be given if the principal key staff proposed has an IT certifications like mcitp boot camp. We have I think 3 staff that has the required certifications but we didn’t win anyway because others have more staff with certifications.

I read a lot and in browsing I saw MTCIP boot camp classes are being offered online wherein you’ll learn Microsoft technologies very well. I suddenly remembered our past bidding. If only we had some of our staff enrolled in certification training like this we would have won the project. The project is big enough to give employment to a large number of staff. I was really interested in what I’ve found online.

As a computer engineering graduate myself I also want to enhance my skills and earn a Microsoft Certified IT Professional credential as I’ve changed my line of work a long time. My work entailed me to learn human resources and accounting leaving computer enhancements on the side. Well I’ve resigned from my job now and I have all the time in the world to learn everything I want to.

Beating Deadlines

It’s raining heavily again and I was worried that electricity will turn off because of the thunderstorm and heavy rains, sometimes the electric provider do that for precautionary measures or if some transformers malfunctioned. Know why I’m worried? I’ve got plenty of online tasks to do and without power and internet I won’t be able to do those tasks and submit. I always tell myself to be a disciplined worker and refrain from doing the tasks on due dates, at least one day before deadline is good enough.

Anyway I’m good at beating the deadlines and I write better sometimes lol! I’m not recommending it as it’s a bad habit but sometimes companies only give 2 days allowance and when you have more work lineup you just have to race between time and writing. I still have more to do and I know I can do it faster now as my kids now is watching TV and been so full and satisfied with our snack.

Chocoholic Family!

Who doesn’t love chocolates? Actually I’ve known only one or two friends that doesn’t love chocolates that much for certain health reasons. Majority loves chocolates, its one food that not only children loves to eat but the grownups as well. I will not cite other people as examples as I’m the perfect example who loves chocolates to the maximum level. When I was a little child and living in the province my father would always bring me chocolates on midweek and weekends from his hometown because there’s a factory of chocolates near their area.

When we finally settled in my father’s town when I was in grade school I was awed by the smell coming from the chocolate factory. It always excites me to imagine how they make chocolate candies there. If only I was a grown up then maybe I would like to work there. That’s the fanciful thoughts of a child. Now that I’m a mother of 3 kids I have noticed that all my children got my liking for chocolate candy as they really love it when you bring them chocolates. Even on some food they love them in chocolate flavors.

I’m just taking some precautions on how my kids take chocolate candies because if they eat it with no limitations they might increase their blood sugar level so I told me to take it slowly although I understand them as I’m a chocolate lover also. I should tell them this as sometimes we really get plenty of supply when my SIL’s packages would arrive from G.B. and my MIL would distribute it among families. Would you believe that my Mom-in-Law will reserve the largest Toblerone for me and the kids? She’ll save it as she knows we love it lol!

Anyway we also like some brands such as Hershey’s, Snickers and more as we are not so picky about chocolate candies, we love them all in plain, nuts, mint, almond and any toppings or flavors of it. That just shows that you can call us ‘chocoholic family’. By the way you can order chocolate online from Sugar Stand. That’s My Mom

Since My Mom undergone a cataract operation we never let her do any of the tasks at home save for a few hobby she used to do. She wants to maintain her gardening which is limited to watering her flowering and ornamental plants and some maintenance check on her blooms. She didn’t have to worry about anything as I’ve resigned from my job and now working at home so I can run errands for her whenever she needs some things accomplished. Because my Mom was used to doing things like cooking and teaching my kids we allow her to continue doing the tutorial to my kids because it’s a part of her being, that of being a teacher.

Aside from this she has nothing to do except relax, watch TV and enjoy being with Josh, her favorite companion. Sometimes she takes some time checking on our apartments and her tenants who became so close to our family. She checked on them every now and then if they need anything or if they need advices on caring for their newborn baby. That’s my Mom, she’s a very good mother, grandmother and a senior adviser to a lot of our friends.

:Food Friday - Pancakes!

This is Jollibee's pancakes and hot choco which Josh loves to eat and drink whenever we stopped by at Jollibee on a morning travel. He loves pancakes and he always asks me to cook at home. When we are shopping for foods he will reach for a box of White King, Magnolia or whatever brand he fancies at the moment and he'll drop it at our grocery cart. At home we have choices of choco, butter, syrup, powdered or evaporated milk as toppings/sauce. But when he's in Jollibee he will partner these two with french fries, what a combination! He just loves it!

This week I'm going to write about the thirteen things I love about babies/infants. This is based from my experience of having 3 babies Ruth, Gen and Josh.

My 13 things are :

1. Smell - there's about their smell which is a combination of milk and baby powder, everything about them is fragrant.
2. Smile - their smiles reaches their eyes
3. Cry - I love the cry of newborn babies, it makes me feel happy that I finally delivered them, makes me say 'Thank you Lord for this angel'
4. Look - the way babies look at you when they want something, those innocent honest eyes!
5. Chuckles - their chuckles and small laugh is so infectious
6. Chin - I love it more if there's a cleft in their chins
7. Hands - Little hands that touches everything they saw
8. Feet - Cute little feet that never gets dirty
9. Hair - Babies are cute even if they have fewer hair
10. Their soft skin
11. Dimples
12. Baby clothing and accessories like mittens, baby shoe,socks, hats etc.
13. Their simple but enjoyable toys like the ones that creates sound.

Well I actually have more than 13 things I love about babies but these 13 things are just enough for now!

We Need Car Body Enhancement

Since I’ve already paid for my second hand car I bought from my boss me and hubby are thinking of ways on how we can improve the car’s performance and body so it will be in perfect condition on December. Why December? Well every Christmas and Holy Week season we spend our holidays on a three-day camp meeting fellowship. I Love Rewards!

Yesterday I brought along my son Josh when I went to my former office to be with my friend’s birthday there and to get some important documents for my car. That’s the first that I brought Josh and he was glad to see my officemates in 2 companies that I worked for. He actually met my senior boss and the latter smiled at seeing him for the first time. I never had a habit of bringing my kids to office because I’m always full of work when I’m still working. After sometime we headed to our weekly bible study in Kamias but stopped at shopping mall to buy him a gift watch and black shoes.

I checked on my cash and found that I have to withdraw some cash in my ATM card to pay for Josh’ items but I realized we’re going to be late so I just used my credit card to pay for his shoes. I’ll just pay it on my free time as I don’t want to accumulate debt on my credit card, I’m a disciplined card holder now.

That’s the convenience of having credit card you can have the mobility and ease of paying your purchases. I don’t actually using it frequently because I prefer debit card but I used it yesterday because I remember that rewards credit cards company has been giving out some freebies and privileges for those with accumulated reward points. I’m counting on my reward points and thinking about how I’m going to use it. I really love freebies, discounts and rewards!

Got Hooked on FB!

Hubby was just trying to communicate with her sister online when he found a new hobby online. He's always late in coming home because of the demand in his work and when he reached home all he can do is eat his dinner and watch cable movies to relax a bit before sleeping. Last Sunday after fixing our car parking after a whole day activity in the church he asked for his email address and password which I'm the keeper lol! and started opening an account in Facebook. He became interested in FB when he saw a high school classmate there. Now he's been updating his facebook this morning and I'm helping him with uploading pictures because he needs to go to work. I told him he's luckier as I didn't have the time to upload photos and update my own facebook lol!

This is the electric-controlled fountain in the new Sky Garden in SM North Edsa Mall (Philippines) where hubby toured us when we visited him last Saturday in his work place. It's actually Josh' birthday then and we thought of going to hubby's work than wait for him in the evening in our house. We sort of saved time for our celebration of our youngest birthday.

Anyway the Sky Dome where Sky Garden is also located has plenty of restaurants, fountains, ponds, stores and nice corners for picture taking. We enjoyed the tour and ended it with Josh motor ride and dinner at KFC - the family's favorite :-)

Protection for My Kids

Josh had his birthday last week and we had a nice time celebrating it in the mall where hubby works. We chose to go to his place of work for his convenience and we save his time traveling just to be with us. We rounded up the new Sky Dome in SM North and we had our dinner when we’re all tired from playing in the arcade, strolling the new sky garden and many other activities mostly by the birthday celebrants.

The next day the kids were still excited from the previous day out and planning to have another outing but this time they want another location, probably an outdoor place where they run, play and have some picnic in a vast area. Well as the sun is sometimes scorching when it gets to shine I should bring some protection for my kids in their outdoor picnic. As the sun will have some harmful effects on my kids I prefer them to wear hats and glasses just in case the sun chose to shine the whole day.

They're the most caring and understanding member of the family. They never seem to get enough of their little darlings - their grand children- and always giving them what they want. My Mom is a perfect example of a caring grandparent mostly to my kids as they grew up in my Mom's nest unlike my brother's children who lives in different house. Now that my Mom is in her golden years her objective in life is to make us all happy and contented. Her happiness is on seeing us well and good in every aspect of our lives. Her little darlings are her grandchildren but Josh is the closest kid to her as they're together since Josh was born (like my daughters also) and Josh is a charming little kid that makes my Mom smiling always at his antics.

We may not always say it as much as Josh did many times in a day but we really love you Mom! Lola!

Hmm just love thinking about this one as I'm working late now! This is my taho when I was included in my kids' order from the vendor last weekend. Need Some Practice!

I had the best nap ever in a month late this afternoon as I’m tired from a week long busy schedule. My friend is teasing me that even now that I’m just working at home my schedule and work seem to file up to my neck. Connection is Back to Normal

I was so glad that finally I was able to work on my PC and connection. The past few days have been a busy day for me in terms of arranging the checkup of my internet connection. My connectivity was intermittent for two weeks but when my provider finally sent their contractor to check on my internet my connection was running perfectly. When the technician showed up I decided to go on with the checkup as it was already scheduled but to my dismay my PC suddenly malfunctioned. I have to reschedule the contractor on the next day leaving me a half day work again. Now the whole evening on that day was spent on repairing my PC who cooperated with me and resumed good operation.

Next morning the contractor was early with their visit and was able to spot the problem with my antenna. As per their findings another internet tower was installed few meters away from mine but directly obstructing my way. Oh well I decided to change its location and finally ended my connection dilemma leaving me half day again to work on my online tasks. My assignments were filing up then and I just hope I’ll have the energy to do blog marathon this morning. Wishes!

Additional Lights For Safety

With the recent widening of the road in our area the road suddenly gets near the house and I have to adjust myself of a narrower space now in our front garden. We’re a little late in our fence and gate reconstruction because the workers that will do the said construction will be available next week. I’ve already canvassed the building materials and the steel gate was already installed so I’ll just have to wait for my brother’s go signal when his workers will be available.

Since our front area is open we’re not so secured with strangers who never seem to get tired of asking for money and making up various reasons why they need to beg. It’s almost an everyday trial to me gauging the person if they’re telling the truth or not, anyway I still give even if the person is dubious.

I’m still hoping that we could get the fence constructed soon as I’m getting worried at night because some garbage scavengers are rounding up at midnight and few of them often manage to steal some construction materials from us. They attack after midnight hours and we have to make sure that we don’t have essential items in our terrace to ensure safety. I’m thinking of adding outdoor lighting in our garden just in case they might be forewarned that they might be seen by passersby. The Feel of Playing the Game!

I love playing bowling back when I was still single and have plenty of friends who have the same passion for sports just like me. It was in my first job in that I learned to play bowling but I never took it seriously then I just love the feel of duck pins in my hands when I strike the lane. After 5 years I joined our office friendly game competition and got serious in learning the sports. We were around eighty employees then who participated. My boss was so generous in giving us food allowances and some incentives on our every playing game.

I never imagined myself getting one of the most coveted ‘striker of the day’ awards because I’m not a professional bowler. Things got better and I slowly learned techniques from my expert teammates and was amazed that at the end of the preliminary selection I was chosen as one of the team in the best of the best games which closed the first team ups and started another two teams for championship. We won and I was surprised when they handed me cash prize. Wow! That’s a very precious memory to me that even if now I was so busy I promised myself to go back playing bowling when I have free time.

Actually when I started playing bowling I was actually interested in billiards but I never got the chance to play it as I was intimidated by those professional players. It was a bit awkward for me as my friends were mostly male so I just stick to bowling. Anyway I still had a chance to watch my friends’ game as the place we frequent back then has the bowling and billiards side by side. After my bowling game we would transfer to their place and watch them. I observed then that playing billiards was as exciting as bowling.
