Looking Pregnant?

>> Saturday, August 8, 2009

My auntie told me that my new blouse fits me perfectly and I don’t look as fat as I was two weeks ago. She told me that the color is just right for me and advised me to wear sizes like the one I’m wearing at that time so I’ll not look as if I’m pregnant lol! That kept me laughing for awhile because some people mistake me for being pregnant because my stomach are the only areas that seems to get fat.

Now that I’m taking pineapple everyday I’m starting to lose some pounds on the problem areas of my body. I’m starting to think last month that I’ll have a need for diet pills because I really gained some pounds on my last weeks of office works. Luckily I resorted to fruit and vegetable diet on dinner time that’s why I’m slowly shedding some pounds now. Wish it will continue!

English Project

Well I’m happy now that I’ve finally found what I’ve been searching for. Gen has to produce five poems, five declamation pieces and five speeches. She on her own finished the first two categories but she left the last for me as it’s too complicated for her. As I replaced her place in search engine I saw that she has already found some sites for her speech assignment, she’s just wondering at the super lengthy speeches in front of her. Of course mommy will finish everything that they can’t finish, anyway their teacher told us to help them in their English project.

I’m happy to find out that there are plenty of sample speeches and I took three samples for Thank You speech on love and gratitude, Inspirational speech on overcoming storms of life and Charity speech from speech-guru.com. I joined these three speeches with Madame Cory Aquino’s speeches and of other former president. I came to like Madame Cory’s speeches since she became president up to now. I noticed that her eldest got her talent too.

Lovely Babies

I just love babies be it my own or other babies. Now here in our compound there are three babies and another one coming up in the next few month, they’re not mine as my own is already going to be 6 years old next month. The babies I’m referring to are the babies of my two nieces, both daughters of two of my cousins and the babies of our tenants. I’m just excited because my grandkids are both good looking and very cute. We’re happy that we have one boy and one girl here to play; you know babies are really huggable and so soft to touch.

I really can’t get over with my fondness and my camera attests to that because I always take pictures of the two lovable babies namely Princess and Bon Isaac. I’ll post pictures of them sometime. They’re both living elsewhere but on daytime they’re always here to visit their grannies. I always see them arriving on beautiful strollers just like quinny buzz stroller which offers comfort and convenience to infants like our babies here. Strollers are really a lot of help in managing babies and I can really say it because I had three and I must say I’ve used two kinds of strollers for them.

At Their Beck and Call

I’m spending the day with little time to blog, actually I’m sneaking to do my assignments because my kids has plenty of their school assignments too and they need to do research online, our other PC is down so I have no choice. It will be a hectic week ahead of us because this coming week is their First Periodical exam meaning I have to assist them in their reviews especially Josh who is in Preparatory level. I was really wondering because it seems that I’m busier these days than when I’m working on an 8-5 office schedule. Nope I have no regrets whatsoever, I’m busier now but absolutely happier as I get to help my kids in their academic studies besides encouraging them in joining multiple school clubs and extra curricular activities. Now that I have my own time schedule I can be at their beck and call anytime they need me and that’s for me an essence of being a Mom.

Order Fulfillment

It’s always nice to have your things bought at stores who delivered a good service to customers. In business it’s not only the products that will sell but most commonly the way the store employees handles clients. In fact a good customer service group can boost a company’s sale into a much bigger dimension. As the saying goes the customer is always right and what do we mean by this? In any store or service business a customer always feel that she can have some requests on anything. The store employees in return will attend to the clients’ request so they will come back again and they will have a regular customer. That what’s business is all about – the loyal and returning customers, the ones who will patronize your business.

I’ve worked for a telecommunications company which sells services and prepaid cards and I learned how to deal with nice and irate customers. Our boss taught us to serve customers and deal with them with our utmost nice service. He imparted that a good business thrive on always making a good order fulfillment to customers like what I’ve read about One World Direct which offers quality domestic and international orders for company regardless of order sizes. They assure their clients of their flexibility, great customer service and a company that fulfills every order with an accurate and fast delivery.

Ginisang Togue with Breaded Tofu Chicharon
Togue in wrapper to make Lumpiang Togue

This is our entry on Nutritional Foods Competition in last month's celebration of nutrition month.
Tofu was cut into small squares, dip in soy sauce then breaded before frying to make tofu chicharon. After the togue veggies are cooked the crispy breaded tofu was put on top of the vegetables.

I like trying various tofu recipes as it's not only healthy but it's also economical.

More nutritional foods on succeeding weeks ahead.

Happy Food Friday to all, see other yummy foods here!

Visiting New York’s Best Places

>> Thursday, August 6, 2009

My friend who has resigned from our company was doing great in other countries doing some consulting on architectural projects. Once in two months she travels in Asian countries to supervise her projects and to meet her clients abroad. She was very happy with what she’s doing right now as she really wants traveling around places. Now she told me through instant messaging that she’s vacationing in her sister’s house in New York. Her elder sister is a permanent resident there for more than years now and she wanted to see her sisters once in a while. They miss each other as the elder sister seldom visits her family here in the Philippines.

Since my architect friend wanted to enjoy her vacation in the Big Apple she was treated by her sister to New York Sightseeing so she’ll get to see the beautiful views of New York city and its nice attractions. She joined the sightseeing tours of Citysights which offers exciting packages of enjoying museum visits, harbor cruises, helicopter tours, motor coach trips and many more. Believe me she really enjoyed the hop-on, hop-off bus tours they provided. Being an architect by profession and artist by heart led her to seek the lovely sight of magnificent buildings and some of the popular sights there like Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Uptown/Downtown Manhattan City and Top of the Rock. As she told me the places she visited it’s as if I’ve been there to. She’s really having a wonderful vacation because of sightseeing New York’s best places.

Passing IT Certification Exams

My company in my former job deals with contracting services on different field including facsimile and switchboard operations, maintenance of equipment and IT services or any contract that we are qualified to take. I was directly involved in doing bid documents and technical proposals and I’m very much aware that in those proposals that we made the highest percentage was that of the qualifications of our proposed staff. I remember doing bid proposal for all IT Helpdesk operation in one of the prestigious International Bank and they require our proposed personnel to have IT certification for them to give the highest percentage. Not all our proposed personnel have the certification they were looking for so we search for the certified IT personnel for that specific project. That’s how I learned how important certification is for some IT-based position.

Looking back several years ago when we were doing bids the agencies were not so strict in looking for certifications but now you have to line up a qualified and certified IT staff to be able to get high scores in bidding. As I was reading some articles in reuters.com I was able to learn that K Alliance is now a member of CompTIA’s Network of specialized trainers. Being a member is such a privilege as CompTIA provides certification exams for IT personnel and if you’re a member of their network like k alliance you’ll learn the best way on how to gain knowledge and skills for the students to pass the much sought after IT certifications from CompTIA.

It’s really good being a member as CompTIA’s network as K Alliance’s online classes don’t only give quality and comprehensive education but improves their curriculum as well to be able to gain skills and knowledge on how to pass the very important certifications. With K Alliance’s strict standards and high quality curriculums students will have a great percentage of passing and getting their most wanted IT certification.

Farewell Tita Cory!

>> Wednesday, August 5, 2009

I just spent my whole morning and early afternoon watching Madame Cory’s farewell to nation. I’m not the cry baby in watching movies and TV shows but this time the tears just keep on falling as I listen to speeches and messages of Ms. Cory’s family. I’ve been a follower of President Cory from the day I knew her when Ninoy died until now. A follower in the sense that I really appreciate her kind ways and intelligent words derived from her ultimate sense of love for the country and her unwavering faith to God. She’s simply fascinating as coming from a very wealthy family she exudes an aura of being elegantly simple in every way she moves and handles things, yet she’s strong in handling problems with God as her refuge and strength during the most trying times in her presidency.

I was a student in one of the state university and was very aware of what’s happening in our country when the edsa revolution took place. It was a very historical moment then and from our country’s history you wouldn’t believe the turn of events that happened then. It was a moment that people seems to unite whatever their status in life are. My Mom wouldn’t let me go there of course even if I have some groups to accompany with, I was very young then and I just content myself watching the revolution in television. Now that’s history and no revolution can surpass that one even though they will repeat it.

When her term finally ended I was able to land a job in a company which was luckily given her farewell projects and that’s the flyover projects which gave the company a great break. I served the company for more than a decade and until now we were so happy to be part of her projects. Although her term ended she still managed to be a great source of strength for people who need her especially the leaders that followed after her. She continued her mission and has been a constant source of advices for some leaders. Now that I’ve heard what her family has to say about her I was right in thinking that she’s really a gift to Filipino people and she died with golden memories of her unselfish love to our country, Filipino people and to her family.

Thank you Madame Pres. Cory, you’ll always be in the heart of every Filipino people. You made us proud to be Filipino!
