Vacation In Bicolandia's Farm

>> Friday, October 17, 2008

My sister-in-law’s mother came from the Bicol region and as such they see to it that once in a while they visit their hometown to see family, relatives and friends. They also visit the place for special family occasions and sometimes for a nice relaxing vacation. They frequent the places where they swim on rivers, pick on root crops and harvest what’s ripe among the fruits and vegetables.

For someone who grew up in the urban areas like us and the family of my brother it was a pleasurable respite from the bustling life in the urban. No traffic, no malls, no keeping up with the time and a bus ride away from internet cafĂ© (that’s not so good to me). Anyway with the modern technology you can always put your mobile internet through your PC as long as it’s a 3G. But sometimes it’s a relaxing break to be free from any signs of modern technology, it’s nice to be just like the province people, happy and contented with their way of life. My niece and nephew seemed so happy in their pictures when they had their vacation there, and who would not be happy it’s really nice to be there.

Samar’s Get Away

>> Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Yes I spelled it correctly because Samar’s beach is one of the best summer get away. People keep flocking on the paradise resort of this archipelago most populated is of course the Boracay Island but for the natives of East Samar in Giuan they’ve found a place for them comparable to the beautiful and famous resorts in the Philippines. Good thing about this is that it’s for free, yes you can go whenever you want because it’s just a few meters away from the village and the beach is not owned by a rich businessman.

The whole beachfront of this town is free. Why I know? Because it’s the hometown of dear hubby where the whole clan of his parents resides, though I may say hubby and his siblings were born and raised here in Quezon City. He always tell me that he’s a Quezonian lol! He’s the only one in their family of eight that’s never been to this place because his work can’t allow long vacation. Wish we could file a leave from work and be there on summer! Wishes!

See pictures of hubby’s siblings here!

Win's Little Princess

>> Monday, October 13, 2008

Babies are like angels, when they come into this world you feel happy and blessed. That’s the feeling of second-timer parents’ Winroe and Charis. They feel so blessed now that their little princess Kezia Ammiel finally got out of her protected shell inside Charis’ womb, another blessing to her Mom and Dad who has already a 4-year old kid. Everybody keep on telling them that they’re complete already having a boy and now a baby girl. They’re a beautiful pair you know!

Win as we fondly call him here in our office has been my friend for almost 6 years now, a born-again Christian like me whom I share a lot in terms of life’s ups and downs. He’s been a constant listener whenever I feel the pressure of my job and when I feel happy on my family and my achievements. Since he has become a born-again Christian for a year now we also shared God’s wonderful blessing on us, not only on financial or material things but spiritual as well which is more important.

Jehovah Jirei

>> Sunday, October 12, 2008

We had a fulfilling Sunday as usual and Pastor Ed was happy to announce that despite of not getting our usual camp site for the holiday season Bro. Gerry has found a new one. Again God has proven to us that He’s the great provider – our Jehovah Jirei. The mansion that we’re renting for 2 camp meetings now was rented by a Belgian national for one year and the owner was so sorry for giving it to that foreigner. We were only two weeks late from the Belgian’s proposal and Pastor was so sad about it last Monday.

God is so good that right after we learned about not making it to the reservation Bro. Gerry was successful in finding a new one in Indang, Cavite again where we had our fellowship in 2006 before our Tagaytay Venue. The owner of Villa Dominga Forest Resort is a new born-again Christian and upon learning that we’re interested in renting the place for December she agreed and gave us a discount. The place is a 3.3 hectare camping site with swimming pools and conference hall big enough for more than a hundred people.

Here are some pictures that I got online, I wasn’t able to scan the brochure that they gave us.

Sleeping On Tents!

>> Saturday, October 11, 2008

Our church is always spending December holiday season and holy week on far-away camp sites far from the bustling metropolis. There we will put up tents and do our cooking on portable gas stove and some on charcoal. We usually have fellowship for three days and we bring clothing and food stock for the whole period because markets and groceries are usually very far from our chosen sites. As mommy to 3 kids I learned the technique of packing necessary things for the camp meetings because if you’re not that organized you might miss some essential things.

Camp meetings are the occasions that we really look forward to and we planned everything months before the fellowship. We’ve rented many places on our camp meetings, we’ve gone to DInalupihan Nature Center in Bataan, there’s one occasion that we’ve had it in Florida Pampanga, when I was a new baptized Christian in early 90’s I remembered our camp meeting in Rain Forest in Pasig City (not so far from us) and in Jabez camp site in Cavite.

Here’s one beautiful site that we’ve first experience sleeping on tents, it was a memorable experience for all of us so I’m sharing this to you. It was on Cerca, Brgy. Banaba, Indang,Cavite a place near Tagaytay City, a 2 hectare camping site full of fruit-bearing trees.

Planet’s Cutest Animal!

>> Thursday, October 9, 2008

I found this picture really nice, look at those enormous eyes and very long limbs! Yes it’s the world’s smallest monkey having 10 to 15 cm only in length and can be seen in Southeast Asia and here in the Philippines you can see them in Bohol. Osang shared me this picture taken by her hubby while they’re on a vacation in one of the resorts there. It just captured my attention and decided to post it here. I’ve heard that it’s the earth’s cutest animal with very soft, velvety fur but careful because even if it’s cute it can’t be your pet at home! Anyway tarsiers are being protected by the government as they’re so precious! Just a reminder only!

Feels Like Heaven!

>> Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Have you ever tried taking pictures of the skies and clouds while traveling on an airplane? Well the son of my friend did that to pass away the time boarding the plane. And it’s also becoming a hobby to Juno (name of the kid) to take pictures wherever he go. I told his mom that he could be a good blogger because most bloggers like me are like that – fond of taking pictures even if sometimes people thinks I’m a little less than ordinary lol! Anyway here are some of the sky shots taken while boarding the plane from Cebu to Manila!

Kuya's Birthday

>> Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Today is my brother’s birthday, the eldest to me and Redge. Unlike past years he didn’t prepared a big celebration. They were shopping for goods for their Sta. Lucia’s booth store so they opted to celebrate on a different date.

Kuya is the first among us who experienced God’s overwhelming grace and glory, I remember those mornings spent sharing God’s word. I was on an afternoon shift then and he’s starting his construction company, we’re still single at that time so we have every morning to spare to talk and share God’s word. It was when I felt the urge to feel and know more about God. God used my big bro in my realization of God’s wonderful love to me. Since that first fellowship way back Sept. 26, 1992 where he has brought me and Redge to House of God church my life has changed. On Oct. 25 of that same year we were baptized.

Now Kuya is very busy with his government office work and construction company but still manage to have three bible study in a week wherein he shares God’s word to people in Cainta, Infanta, Quezon and Calamba, Laguna. He’s an Evangelist Engineer and he heed to God’s calling spending his personal money and never asking for return. He told us God will return the blessing to Him. He told us it’s better to help people who can’t return the favor to you because that’s the true spirit of giving – not asking or waiting anything in return.

I thank God for giving us a big brother like him, a college scholar who uses his wisdom in sharing God’s word and uses his hard-earned money to help others. Like the title of his newly-created blog for sharing God’s word he truly has a Servant Heart.
