:MYM/RT: Painting at Aling Tonyang's

>> Monday, March 7, 2011

This is a shot on Aling Tonyang's seaside restaurant painting where we eat couple of months back. We ate at the table below this painting and this  one caught my eye as the theme of the painting is also about cooking.  Very simple yet creative with splashes of brown, beige, yellow and red.  So I thought of making this an entry to Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday.  That day was full of fun as I met up with college friends whom I didn't see for a couple of years.  We've been together for 5 straight years in PUP Computer Engineering Class and so close to each other that they often hang out in our house to do projects and attend special occasions.  How I missed those days!

Maternity Clothes

Having a baby is an exciting thought to a family especially if it’s the first time for a couple to have one. I remember my own pregnancy when the whole family was excited over what I eat, what I do and what I wear. Of course the husband will do everything just to keep me comfortable and satisfied with all the foods that I want to eat. Anyway it’s not that hard on him as I don’t ask things and foods that are hard to get. I just love fish, vegetables, fruits and all natural foods. Unlike others who find it hard to think of what to eat I didn’t experienced it and my work helped me to be not so sensitive on things. I don’t sleep on afternoons or taking siesta because I’m working the whole week that’s why I didn’t have problems on indulging on too much sleep.

My only problem is coping up with my Maternity Clothes when I was pregnant. I was working in corporate office and being an officer then I should dress good enough for my position. I didn’t want to look like I’m at home wearing very comfortable dresses. Finding dresses proved to be tasking as you’ll look at the malls and stores just to have nice working clothes. I didn’t want shopping on foot when I was pregnant because I’m already tired from an 8-hour job. I noticed that now it’s not a problem anymore as you can buy them online.

EMommie made this possible as they offer beautiful clothes for pregnant and nursing women online. They have everything you need in your work clothes, house wear and for special occasions too. They have tops, bottoms, shirts, skirts, dresses, lingerie, outerwear and a lot more. They even have baby gears for your cute little ones. Visit them now for all your maternity wear needs and avail also of their clearance sale.

Custom Concessions

Our daughter is graduating from primary school next month and we’re planning some things to prepare for his secondary schooling next school year. She will be joining her elder sister now and we’re aware that we need additional finances for her as she will be enrolled in the same Christian school while the youngest is in a different Christian school. We know it’s quite a big amount that we will need for their enrolment but we’re praying for God’s provisions and exerting extra effort to earn more. We’re now thinking of putting up a small business to augment our income. We’re heading our eye on the custom concessions business we’ve seen in one of the rooms in our rented building for the church.

They’re selling franchise opportunities for those who want to start a business using their concessions trailers. The trailers are mostly food carts selling hotdogs, burgers, noodles, barbecues and some other food on-the-go meaning it can be mobile trailers. I know how it sells to the public and you just have to know the place where there are plenty of customers and that’s it. It’s like the Custom Concessions where they built custom built concession trailers depending on the kind of mobile business you want. With the quality of work they have and the warranty of repair and technical support you’re on your way to heading up to a successful business.

Saturday 9: Medicate

>> Saturday, March 5, 2011

1. Do you take a lot of medication? No, I'm just taking my vitamins

2. Name one of your flaws and tell us about it.  I'm too trusting.  I easily trust a person so I'm always prone to betrayal, but that was before because I left my corporate life and concentrated on my being a work-at-home Mom (WAHM)

3. Have you ever won first place? If yes, tell us about your victory! Yes! It's usually on board games hahaha! In scrabble particularly :D

4. Who is the last person to make you smile? What was happening? My kids.  Because they're praising me for the meal they love to eat.

5. Describe a time when you should have tried harder.  I've always tried harder on many occasions and on many jobs.  And whatever accomplishments I've made in my life it's through my best efforts and prayers.  If I failed I know it's not for me.

6. What are you best at? Writing, Cooking, Lettering and Administering

7. If someone was going to make a movie or TV show about your life, who would play you and why? Sorry but I don't my story to be publicized, I'm a privy and shy person to even attempt to do it.

8. Name 3 things that you think are strange.  Talking while sleeping, walking while sleeping and sleeping while at work lol!

9. What is one lesson you have learned in the past 12 months? I've learned that in whatever things you achieved in life you owe it all to Him and you should acknowledge it to Him.  Count your blessings even the tiniest ones.

Safety Signs

Whenever I go to various places be it private offices, public buildings, hospitals or schools I always read wall signs whenever there’s one so I can familiarize myself with the rules of the place. Some are not rules anyway but safety signs or precautionary measures on emergency things. When I was the Administrative Officer of one of my previous jobs I see to it that important signs like Fire Exit and Fire Extinguisher are in proper places for easy searching when things got out of hand. Our signs were simple then unlike the ones I’m seeing on various places now like construction site and gasoline station with attractive image signs and texts that meets the eye. Remember that it’s better to have precaution than be caught in accidents.

Fire Prevention Month

>> Tuesday, March 1, 2011

It’s March already and a parade was held early morning to promote fire prevention month. They always do it on the first day of March as this month begins the hot summer months and the season for fire accidents also. Unlike the past several years fire incidents have already happened last month and I’m praying that with some guidelines from the fire department people will have better ideas on how to prevent fire.

Anyway it’s also our car’s registration month and we’ll have to look for cheap auto insurance so we can have some savings. Some insurance are really expensive and getting them will surely hurt the budget. I’ll have to ask my brother if he has found a good and affordable insurance for his new car. Or I’ll have to look online for more feasible searches.

Bad Work Habits

Work demands discipline. You need to have discipline on some aspect of your work like coming to office on time, avoiding absences on minor reasons only and following office rules. With regards to following office rules I noticed that some employees now got hooked in online games that they don't realize they're extending their break periods just to have their hobbies.

I remember my days in Transportation Company where our time was all spent on work and the management were very strict on lunch and coffee breaks. When we encounter power interruption we will help some department that operates even without power to maximize our time. Now some employees disregard the need to follow office rules and just go on what they want to do as long as the boss doesn’t see them. Sometimes modern gadgets and technology becomes an instrument in ruining proper decorum at work because they pose an irresistible temptation.

Direct Deposit Tax Return

My work experience in my last job entails me to know things about finance and accounting even though I’m not a graduate of such degree. I was assigned to supervise Accounting Department and because of that I was forced to learn basic knowledge in accounting. Handling payroll proved to be not as hard as I imagined at first. It’s actually an easier task than my other jobs. I’m a graduate of computer engineering course and I had no problem with computation and financial statistics. I learned payroll preparation, bookkeeping, handling account receivables and payables and some other things needed in Accounting Department. When the company expanded they hired accounting staff for me.

With all these responsibilities in Finance, Admin and Human Resource I didn’t involved myself in tax preparation as I deemed the work would be appropriate only for accounting graduates. There are plenty of things to learn and to keep in mind to adhere to government rules and legalities. I helped with the employees’ computation of tax returns and I find it tasking to do it manually. I’m glad that they have a program where you can put all the names and information needed to produce needed result. It’s a lot of help just like what I found online now wherein they uses Direct Deposit Tax Return.

With this new innovation in getting your tax return faster I really think people can get the best of their returns now. You just have to file your tax return online using the ezTaxReturn and then have it available on your new prepaid card and you’ll get it in 8 days. Wow! It’s so fast! You also have the chance for bigger refund. Rest assured it’s secured, safe and quicker too! You can visit Account Now Facebook or their twitter to get yourself acquainted with their services. You will also have to ask your employer to place your pay check into your prepaid account.

What Should You Work With?

I've been sitting in front of my laptop almost the whole day and I just want to have a break somehow.  I answered this quiz about personality and about the things I should work with.  I was surprised with the results as it says it would kill me to be at desk job all day which is precisely what I'm doing right now lol! Yes I don't really like sitting for long but I have no choice most of the times because of the heavy work load of my job.
Don't get me wrong I love the workload as it also means more income for my family.  It's just that I have to break from it sometimes.

The result is near to truth as I really like moving around if time permits.  I also like mastering hard tasks because challenges excite me.  I remember getting bored in accounting department after several years of doing it because I don't like jobs that you'll only repeat day after day.  Anyway I'm just working at home but writing doesn’t bore me.

Here's the result of my test:

You Should Work with Things

You are a very hands on sort of person. You like doing physical work and moving around.
It would kill you to be at a desk job all day. You don't like to sit still for too long.

You are very energetic, and you get bored if you aren't able to channel your hyperactivity.
You are good at mastering difficult tasks. You have excellent eye hand coordination, and you are quite graceful.
