Shoes For My Little Lady
>> Sunday, July 6, 2008
I’ve asked Ruth to go with me to buy her school shoes. Need to get her something that would suit her as I’ve noticed that she’s grown fast and former shoes seems like a little unfit for her age. My hubby’s sister in Trent, G.B. used to send them school shoes but now the styles and sizes only fits Gen because Ruth’s feet has grown to my size and she wants a style for young ladies. Ruth picked a very simple style only less the usual girlish designs and prints. She’s becoming a young lady now.Billboards Disaster

This is what I saw after the typhoon - a giant billboard that crashed on the roof, a very frightening sight! I was relieved when I saw that the billboard crashed on top of the car repair shop and not on one of the houses there. It's in the side of the Pasig River in Rosario, Pasig City where I passed everyday when going to work. Josh' Interest On Our National Hero
>> Thursday, June 19, 2008
I was asked by my kids what’s the occasion today early in the morning as they saw some celebration being shown on morning news shows. I’ve been puzzled by their inquiries and peeked at the show they’re watching. Uhm ok so it’s the birthday of our national hero, Jose Rizal. As my little son is always curious about so many things he was interested who is this person that was celebrating his birthday without cake. You know Josh will not sing you a happy birthday song if there’s no cake on the table lol! Birthdays for him are always associated with blowing candles on cake, little kids’ requirements.
Anyway as he’s very keen on his questioning me I told him some of what I’ve learned in my high school subjects like the books that he authored the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo which ignited the revolutionary heart of the Filipinos to rebel against the Spaniards, well that’s so heavy for a kid but Josh was really interested with big eyes staring at me! Sometimes I thought that he’s not only 4 years old when he talk and act like that, very matured for his age.
I told him that his Ate Ruth and Gen have been in Rizal’s house in Calamba last year (as seen from pictures above) and he got so excited that I promised him that I’ll bring him there next time, maybe on a field trip just like my daughters. I’ve shown him pictures of Rizal’s house when we were there and he thanked me for all the information I’ve told him. He then told the story to whomever he came to talk to that day.

Celebrating Independence Day
>> Thursday, June 12, 2008
Despite the change of holiday schedule of celebrating Independence Day some people did celebrate this special freedom day on the real exact date. Memorable and historical days shouldn't be rescheduled as it brought about historical events and memories. This day was best celebrated in Emilio Aguinaldo's house in Kawit,

Macaroons For My SIL
>> Tuesday, June 10, 2008
It's my sister-in-law's birthday today and because my brother's family loves eating leche flan and macaroons I've decided to cook hundreds for them, hundreds of macaroons not the leche flan of course. Here's our mixture:
2 cups dessicated coconut
1 big can of condensed milk
2 medium eggs
2 Tbsp. shortening (vegetable oil will do)
2 drops of vanilla
sugar to taste
Here's how we mixed it:
Beat eggs on a big bowl, pour dessicated coconut on it and slowly mix condensed milk. After the three has mixed up evenly put some drops of vanilla and add oil. If you feel it lacks sweetness add sugar.
Here's how we cooked it:
Preheat oven to medium heat only. Place paper cups on rectangular trays and drop little macaroons mixture on it. Cooked for about 20 minutes, see if the white color turns light brown. Some mixture takes longer to cook but it's easier if you watched it carefully, I'm sure you don't want burnt macaroons. Here's how it looks on the oven!
My Mom's Birthday
>> Saturday, May 31, 2008
It’s my Mom’s birthday today and we decided to celebrate it in our house unlike last year’s celebration in Bosay resort in Antipolo. My Mom was very happy to see close friends’ faces specially Rina and kids to which she’s a sponsor on wedding. Half of her guests were children, mostly my brother’s kids and his in-laws’ children. Some were grandchildren of my Mom on her niece and nephews.
As always I’m the one who planned food and menu and cooked everything up. Redge and I took turns in entertaining and assisting guests letting dear Mom talked and chatted with her visitors.
Day turned perfectly good and we thanked God that my Mom is still healthy in body and mind, just a slight rheumatism, the sign of aging don’t you think! All the best wishes for my Mom whom we love so dearly.

BT&T Dinner
>> Friday, May 23, 2008
The ADB-PABX boys came first, they're the ones that maintains the PABX equipment in the whole Asian development Bank including the cabling, voice conferencing and all things pertaining connecting and ensuring that all local and international were smoothly transmitted and received. After half an hour the girls in Switchboard arrived and that completed the whole batch. Of course Sir Bob, Sir Bobby, Berry and Osang were there also. It was a nice dinner coupled with conversations between the management and the staff in ADB. I had a great time talking with the maintenance staff, the high-earner guys in BT&T who had been in ADB for more than 10 years changing their contractors but maintaining their employment there. The trusted men in ADB.
I've been working with them for six years now and I came to know their easy going manner and conversation. It's always easier handling male staff than female, though I've been close to some girls also. The night ended at around 10pm and we each had our own group when we left the place. I'm with Aris and Mang Rolly who lives in the same town.
Raph is 14 Now!
>> Monday, May 19, 2008
It’s my first-born nephew’s 14th birthday. Raphael Moses or Raprap got all our attention when he was born. He’s a very cute baby boy who resembles his mother more than his father (my brother). When I was still single my brother will bring Rap to our house and I’ll take care of him the whole day which he enjoys very much because I spoil him. As he grows older he always look upon me as someone who will give in always to what he wants – especially when it comes to his favorite foods, I can’t resist his requests. He’ll always ask me to cook leche flan for him with or without occasion. Whenever I visit their house he will rush to their store to gather all the ingredients and he’ll make me cook for him. Honestly I feel happy doing it for him and his siblings because it’s my way of showing my care and love for them.Today he’s beginning to enter adolescence period we’re advising him always what he should be doing or how he should act like a young man. He has grown as a very tall young man and girls I their school has a crush on him but Rap is choosy. He also has his attention on music ministry and sports. He’s having piano lessons for a year now and he’s good on other instruments too like his father also. Music and arts runs in our family and Rap seems to get the skills in music without so much effort.
