: Photohunt 174 : Artificial (Clock)

>> Saturday, August 15, 2009

As I'm in my kids' school yesterday with our Induction of Officers I thought of taking a shot on this artificial clock used by the kindergarten class. We used the kinder class room to prepare the foods for the occasion and I just spotted this one for a photo hunt idea. The teacher used this artificial clock to teach the basic of learning how to read the time. Well I had some pretty shots on other areas of this room and will save them for other themes. Happy weekend!

Emergency Funds

You’ll never really know sometimes when emergency situation arises and you’re left with no money available to use for certain cases like that. It’s good if you have saved some money for extra needs but if you didn’t whose going to save you from your dilemma. When I was still working I’ve known some people in the same company who would risk giving their ATM cards as collateral just to be given a cash advance with high interest to pay for. Well I can’t blame them as a person who really needs money badly can enter a risky agreement like that. At least they have their incoming salaries to pay back cash advances.

Many similar cases happened to my friends as they really need to make both ends meet, those petty cash problems that need immediate funding. Oh well life in the office world is really like that, sometimes your salary is just enough to pay your bills and expenses, you can’t save anymore and in some cases it’s not sufficient! It’s good to know that in case of emergencies they can always avail of payday loans to help them with small emergency needs. That will make life easier to live with.

Arranging Few Important Things

After my resignation I’ve arranged few things that need immediate attention like reminding my former office about my certifications for employment, SSS/HDMF/Philhealth contributions. I need to have these certifications because I’m going to continue them even if I’ve retired from office employment. Actually I’ve completed the needed number of months for SSS early retirement and will just have to wait for my age maturity to avail my premiums. As soon as I’ve graduated from college I immediately landed a job that’s why I’ve enough premium contributions. But I want to continue paying and my family agreed with my decision as it’s a security also for me and my family.

I also added a personal bank account in my list as I’m using a payroll account for my income proceeds, then I added it to my paypal. It’s easy to add bank account in your paypal, you just have to know the list of bank codes available here in the Philippines and you’ll have it added in your paypal bank lists.

Visiting NYC

It’s lovely to travel abroad and roam around popular cities on your vacation. My friend used to do this when she’s feeling overworked and stressed out. Her sister lives in New York so the best choice for her destination is there as she’ll have no problem with accommodation and everything. When she planned for her vacation in her sister’s house she made it sure that she book a transportation service from airport to her sister’s apartment and onwards to beautiful places that she wants to visit. Her sister don’t always have time to drive for her and sometimes her target place would mean a long drive so she just book online for a Car Service NYC to take her to wherever she want to go and visit. My friend is a very independent woman and she didn’t want to impose too much attention even to her siblings.

Anyway as it’s not her first time to be in the Big Apple she knows what to do and that is booking online ahead of time for Go Airlink NYC, a transportation service from the airport throughout New York City and surrounding suburbs. They offer and provide convenient, reliable and affordable transfer from airport to wherever she wanted to go. It’s really convenient for many of our travelers to be able to hire a good transportation service that will also take care of their travel, vacation and visits to popular cities like NYC. Tours can be worthwhile when you’re in good and reliable hands and as for my friend who loves to visit NYC it’s really worth her while. She loves it!

:Food Friday - Nutritional Foods (Chopsuey)

>> Friday, August 14, 2009

This is the entry of Grade 6 level in Nutritional Foods Competition in last month's celebration of nutrition month. I've enclosed a picture detailing the basic ingredients used to cook this very healthy and delicious chopsuey, well for me it's really yummy as I love veggies especially chopsuey. I also cook chopsuey in my house but I don't put chicken on it. I used chicken liver as the meat ingredients and breaded chicharon tofu to put on top and all over the menu. Anyway as they cooked beside us we exchanged plates to them to taste their food. It's delicious and veggies are nicely cooked without overcooking. They got the second place though I think my chopsuey recipe is more economical and healthy because of the tofu ingredients (Just an opinion :-)).

More nutritional foods on succeeding weeks ahead. Happy Food Friday to all, see other yummy foods here!

Devoting Time to My Children

>> Thursday, August 13, 2009

Since I’ve resigned from my work almost a month ago I’ve devoted my time to my family especially attending to my kids’ school activities. Lucky that the time I was permitted by my boss with my resignation the activities in my daughters’ school began to multiply. Now it’s occupying most of my time that sometimes my online work gets noticed and done at night. I was happy with my life’s pattern now and can honestly say giving not only quality time to my kids but quantity as well. School time gets the most time of my kids so I visit them on lunch breaks every other day to assist them in any way I can. As this is the first periodical period in primary school they have plenty of projects to finish and parents should help them in some projects that need online research.

I can see that Gen and Ruth became more dedicated in their academic and extra curricular activities owing to the fact that I’m always there for them whatever and whenever. I’ve always been this way but hours spent in my office works deprived me from other assistance they need. Now they know I’m just working at home and they feel confident that I’m only a phone call away just in case they need something. Children love being pampered most of the times. They also liked it when parents provide them with all the things they need.

Actually it’s also a privilege to us parents to provide them with school supplies, shoes, bags and everything they need. Sometimes if we can’t do the shopping outside because of busy schedule we can do our shopping online. There are online stores like doittennis.com who can provide busy moms with kids’ essentials like School Backpacks and other items for our dearest children. Shopping there can save you time and effort compared to shopping in malls. I’ve checked the site and found that there are many available styles and designs to fit my children’s requirements with brands that spell durability and quality.

:Thursday Challenge - Rare

Rare Coins

My entry for this week's theme are some of my collection of old coins which for me are rare these days as these coins were replaced by many generation of silver coins. These coins were made in early '70s and my collection dates from 1972 to 1974. These coins are very different with the latest coins as it has money value. I've learned from one of my former office mate that in their place these coins were bought at P600 and up. Actually they sell some of their collections. When I was still in primary and secondary schooling it's my hobby to collect stamps and old coins. These One-Peso coins are my favorites as it has a deep engraved face of Jose Rizal's, Philippine National Hero. You can gauge from the picture that it's really rare, just see how old it is.

New Eyeglasses For Me

>> Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I just happen to notice that my eyeglasses has served me for more than a year now and though it’s still in the best form as when I’ve bought it I’ve been wanting to have a new one. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was in college and I’ve gone through many styles and fashion of eyeglasses. My first set of eyeglasses was a big-framed one because that’s the fashion way back some years ago but now the fashion statement for eyeglasses seems so varied as you can wear a big-frame, small frame, semi-frame or frameless style and not be left out by the latest trend. It’s more flexible now than in the past several years so you can pick your preferred style without worrying that you’re out of the latest trend.

I’ve been browsing a lot online these days for my own personal things and I’ve included searching for design of my new eyeglasses. I’ve found GlassesShop.com which enables me to have virtual try-on on different shapes of face and various frame style to choose from. I must admit I enjoyed searching on Wide Selection of Eyeglasses from the site and using virtual try-on to see which styles suits my face shape. It’s really exciting to see how it fits the models. It helped me in choosing the best style for me. I know that glasses will really look good on the models because they’re beautiful but the idea of picking the same shape of face is very helpful in choosing the best eyeglasses for me. I’m also glad to know of their return and refund policies which make your purchase risk free. See what I’ve got here, I’ve posted one of their eyeglasses.

We Think We Know The Ones We Love

>> Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Carry On Tuesday #13

The prompt this week is the opening sentence from
The Story of a Marriage by Andrew Sean Greer

We think we know
the ones we love.

Use all or part of it at the start or somewhere
within your poem or prose.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's my self-made Poem
We think we know
the ones we love
Like the simple gestures
of sweet nothings
The simple warm look
of caring and loving
The simple acceptance
of partner’s imperfections
Like knowing when
to give your understanding
To the one you love.
I think I really know my love
Come what may I’ll still love him.
I think it's not what you think or what you know about your loved ones, we should really accept them as they are even if we discovered that they're not the perfect human that we think they are, it's part of the thing called 'love', Love is acceptance and understanding. Remember God love us even if we're not perfect!
I Love Personalized Flash Drives
I’ve always been dependent on storage devices for my office works and online jobs. It makes my jobs easier because I can carry multiple images and files wherever I go. As I’m a blogger sometimes I go to different places and if I have some due dates on my assignment I’m confident enough that I have my files and pictures with me. It makes my life convenient and my job easier as I sometimes hop from one computer to another whenever the need arises. I was happy that my friends gave me flash drives as their souvenir gift for me when they went abroad for business conferences. They know that I love gadgets and tech accessories not at all feminine though.
Because I really need multiple files and pictures for my writing jobs I wanted more than two flash drives and I also want to give my kids their own flash drives for their school projects. I was actually looking for Personalized flash drive which was given to me last holiday by one of our telco providers as their Christmas gift to me. It was a nice remembrance as the name of the company was etched in the flash drive. I have a friend there also and I know she picked that gift for me. Now I’ve found online that you can have personalized flash drive with variety of choices on the color and material. I felt very excited browsing different designs, style and color of flash drives and I particularly liked the one encapsulated in leather. It’s elegant and very beautiful.
