Colon Cleanse

>> Friday, April 3, 2009

I chanced upon Lisa, a relative very close to our family and she silently whispered to me that the husband of our auntie who used to be very healthy and strong now has been diagnosed to have colon cancer. I was a bit shocked as I’ve seen him months ago and I didn’t notice any trace of sickness on him. In fact I’m planning to ask him if he could do some work on our glass windows, he’s a glass specialist and we want him to do the job for us.

Lisa told me that he didn’t know that he has colon cancer; he just assumed that he has some trouble with his stomach; he actually thought its only ulcer. After I have recovered from mixed feelings of shock and worry I remembered the sites I browsed about colon cleanse and I immediately suggested that they consult their doctor about this for a chance that it might help him. I’m just busy now with nursing my Mom after her cataract operation but after these busy weeks I’ll check on them if they’ve already consulted it with their doctor.

:WW - Graduation Month!

>> Wednesday, April 1, 2009

More balloons here just like in my other blog entry. This is the graduation stage of my son Josh with very refreshing summer color design. Now it's the first day of April and graduation ceremonies are almost finished except for some who scheduled their rites at the end of this week. For the graduates of 2009 may the knowledge gained from school and good attitude taught by our teachers be used also in our own home and in the society around us.

More WW entries -> here.

Vacation Activities for Kids

>> Monday, March 23, 2009

I just had some inventory and general cleaning on the house as we were about to have someone do some construction works on our wall and gates. As I’m going to spend sometime in the house to assist the workers regarding their food I would have extra time to do some house arrangement. The kids will start their summer vacation next week so we’ll have plenty of time to fix their new room. My two girls are getting older now and we want them to have their own so they can arrange their own things the way they want it.

As I am fixing things in the house I discovered some plain white clothes that can be personalized with my kids’ names on it. I saw a non-toxic and easy to use rubber stamp for clothes and I want to try it this summer vacation so the kids will have something to keep them busy. They’re so interested on doing artistic things so I thought it would be best to start on this one. Of course I’ll be thinking on more ways that they can use their spare time.

:Food Friday : Pancit Malabon

>> Friday, March 20, 2009

This is Pancit Malabon but not bought from Malabon but cooked from our very own sister in our church, Sister Cresing. Her grandson and my godson Marrion celebrated his first birthday and this is their blowout in our church on the Sunday following the child's birthday. She's like a pro cook when it comes to cooking almost any lind of recipe, everyday or occasion food.

You'll really love her cooked food when you'll have the chance to taste it! She even made a living out of it when she at one time sells breakfast meals. It was a hit just like this special pancit malabon with a sauce that will make you forget the day lol! It made us really full on the belly!

Happy Food Friday to all, enjoy your weekend!

Backup Storage For My Image Files

>> Thursday, March 19, 2009

I just love taking pictures of almost everything that interests me including children, babies, sceneries, flowers, food, paintings and all subjects that I think is worth catching for. My site is a testimony of my hobby and flair for photos because this is where I download and let others see what I have to share. Picture makes stories and helps me a lot to make my blog interesting to viewers.

When I go to remote areas away from the bustling city and internet cafes I make sure that I carry my extra memory stick so I’ll have maximum storage capacity for whatever shots I may be interested in. It’s always reassuring for me to have backup storage for large image files so I will not have limitations on taking pictures.

He's First!

>> Tuesday, March 17, 2009

I called the house to check on Josh and to ask if the graduation materials were there already. Since I can't be on leave for two consecutive days I asked Josh' school service to get his toga and program for Friday's graduation. The kids were not notified verbally about the lineup of outstanding students and we were told to just wait for the program copy to know everything about the ceremony.

I was happy to know and somewhat excited when Mom told me that Josh got the first place in their kinder class, WOW! Even Josh was so excited when he told me, actually he's really waiting for the list because he wanted to receive a medal again this year just like last year. Congrats Josh dear! We thanked God for this!

:Today's Flowers #31

>> Monday, March 16, 2009

This is another color of my entry in my other blog 'Moments of my Life' where I posted the red variety of this flower, this photo was taken at our backyard while the others were from my cousin's garden where he has more bountiful blooms of this kind. This flower has a thorny body but not as hard as that of roses thorns. What's different in these kinds are their big long leaves complementing petite blooms, makes a lot of contrast, isn't it?

See other Today's Flower entries here.

>> Friday, March 13, 2009

You can see here the Max's resto lumpiang shanghai, one of their specialty in the store. What I liked about their lumpiang shanghai is their beautiful presentation, see how they made a bowl out of lumpia wrapper. This is a shot from my niece' wedding reception where we had chicken, pancit. chopsuey, lumpia and dessert.

Happy Food Friday to all, enjoy your weekend!

Personalized Gift Cards

>> Thursday, March 12, 2009

Gift card represents the personality of the giver and I enjoy doing gift cards when it comes to my kids’ gift to their friends and classmates. I always have time to do personalized gift card bearing my kids’ names for special touch.

Last holiday season I did a hundred personalized gift cards with simple and cute designs befitting the whole family identity. For my girls I chose pretty character designs and for hubby and me I picked some simple ones. Of course my Josh wouldn’t be left off as I’ve chosen his favorite hero characters. I hope the person we’re giving gifts will appreciate the effort and hope they keep it too. Since I was a child I always keep the gift cards that go with the gifts. It’s my way of remembering those thoughtful friends and family that gave me special gifts.
