Busier But Happier

>> Monday, May 31, 2010

I’ve done some repair on our sofa’s seat covers and after washing it looked good enough although I still would want customized slipcovers for the sofa because it will look fitted and nicely covered. Anyway I’m just too busy to fix everything now but I’ll arrange it as soon as I’m free. I thought that I will have plenty of time when I resigned from my office job several months ago but I’m wrong as I’m busier and more active now. Well despite the busy schedule that I have with tons of tasks to do I’m happier now with my life as I can have both quality and quantity time for my family.

The Reasons in Gaining Weight

>> Friday, May 28, 2010

We have many occasions and birthdays this month of May in our family. The closest are Iya for her christening on the first day of May and Matt, Raphael, Princess and my dear Mom for their birthdays. That’s the reason why I find it hard to lose weight fast without the help of weight loss products. I’ve blogged on my other blogs about my journey to losing my weight through semi-cleansing diet and walking exercise but when occasions come it would be snobbish if I don’t eat or mingle, not the usual me of course. It’s even tempting on most occasions when I’m the one who cooks our food.

Well through it all I lost some bulges in my tummy but this week I think I didn’t lose any because almost every other day there are eat over and birthdays. Well counting the calories that I eat on those occasions I think I’ll be going back to start again if I don’t control myself now. I really need some discipline and control now if I really want to continue losing some weight.

:FF/FTF : Siomai Soup

Now it rained and it cooled down the hot temperature this night. I'm looking forward to a nice steaming soup like this one which I called Siomai soup because I forgot to ask its name when Iya had her christening. It's a starter to a lunch or dinner buffet. I got the name from the contents of the soup which are steamed pork siomai, molo wraps (I think :-)) and some ingredients for the soup itself. I'm sorry for the guess as I'm just a visitor there and not the cook.
Anyway it's a good starter especially if you're hungry enough to eat a couple of horses as what the old folks has been telling me when I was a child in our hometown province. Well pork siomai is my favorite and I also like it without the soup, steamed or fried is perfect for me with chili sauce hmm yummy!

Bonding With Your Loved Ones

>> Thursday, May 27, 2010

Summer is a good time to bond with your family with fun-filled activities or just unwind your senses in your patio on outdoor chaise lounges. It’s always relaxing to spend a hot summer afternoon outside your house in the backyard with your kids playing scrabble, chess or you can couple it with grilling some barbecues or hotdogs. It would be more fun with all of the family members present but if they have work you can do it on weekends.

You can choose to spend it daytime or at night depending on what your plans are. Just remember that when you’re with your loved ones every minute is a perfect moment.

Losing Weight the Healthy Way

I’ve always loved losing some weight without resorting to pills because I believe in healthy weight loss. For the whole month of May I’m doing a semi-cleansing diet and it works well on me. I’m getting good results on my tummy which was quite big before I started the diet. Well I heard about irvingia gabonensis weight loss and it’s also proven to give great results aside from being nutritional enough for those who doesn’t want unnatural ingredients. Maybe I’ll be able to tell it to some of my friends who have problems in obesity, high blood pressure and blood sugar.

The 8-5 Employee

Graphics for Work

Are you the regular employee who has an 8am-5pm schedule? Chances are you’re always looking for the much awaited bell in the bundy informing everyone that it’s 5:00 pm already. I’ve worked for 19 years in 5 companies but it’s not always been an 8-5 work schedule for me as I had jobs with shifting schedule.

I experienced a three shifting work schedule and rounded almost all of the shifts including 6am-2pm, 2-10pm and 10pm-6am when I was in my first job in semi-conductor/electronics Company. I love the night schedule as it seems faster than any shift we have. In the government where I worked in an 8-5 schedule the employees really get out at exactly 5 pm unlike when I transferred in private companies where schedule is more flexible depending on your kind of work. I used to go home past 5pm or later if my boss required me to finish our bidding proposals.

I hate rushing up to go out of the office at exactly 5pm because I don’t want to feel banded by time constraints. I had a very difficult multi-tasking job and before I go home I want to relax a bit, have coffee and tidy all my things and my seatmate’s table before I go out of the office. I don’t want to work the next morning with plenty of due tasks so I end the day with my work completed or updated. When I already have kids I rushed going home but I never beat the 5pm clock. I chose the 9-6 schedule so I have ample time in the morning to arrange my kids’ things in going to school and prepare their food for the whole day.

Now it’s easier to work at home because you have the ability to manage your time, more flexible and perfect for Moms like me. How about you? Do you manage your work time well?

My 3 Project Plans

I’ve observed that my kitchen is quite old and needs some renovation. Since it’s more than 5 kilometers long I find it out of the current kitchen fashion designs. I want a somewhat square-shaped kitchen and I’m thinking of using a different kind of tile like metal tile to make my kitchen look more polished and clean. Now as I already have project 3 for our master bedroom renovation and project no. 4 as our family room construction in line right now I’m going to tag my kitchen renovation as my project no. 5. Guess I’ll be needing lots of finances for these projects so I have to work, work and work.

Feeling Lighter with Walking Exercise

I feel great these past few weeks as I’m getting back to my old walking exercises. When DD started her summer refresher course I didn’t hire their school service but instead assigned myself in fetching her every morning. DH offered to drop her in going to school so in the second week I was there for DD to fetch her. Since I haven’t buy or follow any weight loss formula other than my semi-cleansing meal plan I started my walking exercise. It was the perfect time for me as I can walk from the corner of the street to the school and back again.

It’s a morning class so when we go home the sun is only starting to send its heat. Now when I count the kilometers I walk every morning I was glad to note that I walk around 2 kilometers in the morning and another 1 kilometer in the late afternoon in our community grounds. I know its doing me good not only to look slimmer but to feel fit also. I feel lighter now than I was 2 months ago and it’s a great feeling.

Manic Monday #209

If you could write your own bill of rights, what would you include?

I think all the bill of rights that I want is there already. I want those people in-charge of implementing those bills to do it with perseverance, honesty and dedication. What's the use of bills or rules if it's not being practiced and implemented to the true meaning of the word. Bill of rights will remain few sentences of meaningless words if the government will not use it to benefit the people.

What is going on in the world today that affects you the most?

Global warning, El NiƱo and natural catastrophes but I know these things will really happened as written in the old holy book. These are signs and warning to people, a reminder also of how abusive we are to Mother Nature. When these things happen I pray to God that He'll protect us from any harm.

What do you think is the secret to a good life?

A secret to a good life is putting God first in everything that we do. We should put God in the center of our lives and you'll see that everything will be in the right place. You'll find happiness, peace and contentment in Him.

Business Plans

>> Sunday, May 23, 2010

I have many things in mind now and the one which is taking most of my thoughts is our plan to go back to our meat products’ business. We really want that to pursue this time and I’m hoping that we’ll be successful with the initial phase and all succeeding phases. It’s really hard to decide which business to take because you really have to be careful about investing your money.

Well there are many other investments like houses, lots, jewelries and precious metals. I read about one kind where you have to buy gold bullion as a form of investment and I find it very interesting. We all know that precious metals like gold appreciate its value so it really sounds good to put your investment.
