:FF/FTP : Kilawing Bangus with Salted Eggs
>> Friday, February 19, 2010
I'd like to share my Kilawing Bangus with Salted Eggs (my version of Kinilaw na Bangus which I have featured here in Food Friday two weeks ago). I learned this from my church mate and as usual I've added up something to create my own version. If you want to do it on your own you can follow my ingredients and steps in doing. My procedure and ingredients are the same except for few revisions lol! it's actually additions.....:-)
To have this (1) you need milkfish fillet cut into cubes and soaked in vinegar to cook the meat, you don't need to put milkfish on fire just set aside. Then (2) mix small cuts of tomatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, dash of pepper, pinch of sat, small chili pepper (optional) and MSG (optional). After the milkfish turned pale from soaking in vinegar it's considered as cooked already and you can mix it with the spices' mixture done in step #2. (3) Pour vinegar to the final mixture, add the salted eggs and taste it for additional spices or salt. It's now ready for your sumptous meal!
See it's very easy to prepare and it's so good I've done it myself in my own kitchen.

fish kilawin is a great appetizer but i usually prefer other fish than bangus. parang ang lansa ng bangus na kinilaw. i only eat kinilaw na bangus when there's coconut milk added.:p
Will try this over the weekend!
i love kilawin, Race; thanks for sharing the recipe with us :-)
I didn't know na pwede din pala kilawin ang bangus because my dad alays use Dilis (Anchiovies).
Happy Friday!!
I haven't try anything kinilaw lol...and I thought I'm open to all kinds of food. I agree with luna parang malansa ang bangus but i bet it's worth the try...
ay ako, i will surely love this.. pero si hubbydubs ko eh hindi.. siguro di ko to magagawa, makikikain nalang ako sa iba.. hehe..
Mmmm something different. I'm with Willa about dilis, I can't really say that I will not eat, but I will try anything once if I can.
I didn't know you can kilaw bangus. ang alam ko lang ksi tuna. But then again japanese eat everything raw. I seldom eat bangus dahil sa tinik pero masarap.
di ba ma-trabaho kasi maraming tinik ang bangus? but that's an interesting recipe, Race. I would never have thought of adding salted eggs. :)
thanks for playing again!
happy weekend
