Language Week

>> Friday, August 29, 2008

I’m super busy this day, took a leave from work and readied Josh’ things for St. Audry’s celebration of Linggo ng Wika celebrated every August in respect to Philippine language and commemorated on the founder Manuel L. Quezon’s August 19 birthday. Josh has two costumes: farmer’s clothes for the planting rice dance and barong tagalong for the national anthem little speech.

As usual when it comes to my kids’ activities I’m a little bit nervous for them. Like for Josh he doesn’t want practices, he’ll just memorize and he’s ok. He doesn’t want repetitive practices, he told like a big boy that he knows it already, need not worry about it. True to his word he delivered it loud and clear.

Dance and Speech Practice

>> Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Since periodical tests were finished already the school teachers practiced the kids for the presentation programs for the ‘linggo ng wika’ (week of the Filipino language). Last week Josh wasn’t present when they started their dance practice but he easily learned the dance today and even memorized his part easily, he remembered the lines very fast. He’s always like that he doesn’t want repetitive practice and memorization. I heard him doing the practice presentation in front of his sisters and my Mom.

1st Periodical Exam

>> Monday, August 25, 2008

First day of Josh First Periodical Examination and I was a little bit anxious because Josh never reviewed on any of his subjects. He told me that his teacher has already reviewed them and he knows it already. You can’t make him sit and review the subjects that he knows already so we just concentrated on the lessons that he’s not so keen about like the greater than and less than in Math, I taught him some technique. Josh is so good in reading and identifying letters and words so he doesn’t need review on it, as he has just told me. I told him I will believe with what he is saying but be sure that he really know what he’s saying. Cool kid!

Triple Celebration

>> Sunday, August 24, 2008

We celebrated Ruth, Redge and Ninang Remy’s birthday which falls today in one eat-together only. As it’s Sunday and our fellow brother requested a different food this time we prepared 5 kilos of macaroni soup, sandwiches and drinks. It took awhile before everything was cooked and prepared. But by the time that our bible sharing was over the soup was perfectly cooked and we all had our fill of the celebrants’ blowout. We also had our takeout!

It’s My Turn Now!

>> Friday, August 22, 2008

It’s my turn now to care for my Mom as Redge was needed in her office now. Anyway I’ve fixed my leave and asked my boss that I would be absent today. Mom has appetite now and I’m rounding the whole place around us to look for anything that she wished to eat, my Mom was actually laughing at me every time I told her to wish and I’ll get it for her. She told that she was like a pregnant woman that everything she wants must be given lol! It’s nice to be back home after two days work in the office. Done all my chores and after I checked that my mother was rested I started my blogging.

Mom Was Still Recovering

>> Wednesday, August 20, 2008

It’s always good to have some rest because you feel fresh and vibrant. It’s been a long weekend because my dayoff extended through the holidays. I’ve had four days off from office works and enjoyed my days with my kids as full time mommy. My kids were so happy when they learned on Saturday that I’ll have four days with them, Josh actually jumped lol! It’s also a good chance that the holiday falls on Ruth and Redge birthday so I don’t have to file vacation leave.

Redge didn’t go to her work today as Mom still needs care and attention as she’s slowly recovering from her sickness. We scheduled our leave and it’s my turn tomorrow. Maybe I really should plan my last day in office as little by little Mom is showing signs of old age and she needs us always.

Sis' Birthday!

>> Tuesday, August 19, 2008

It’s my younger sis’birthday! I’m not going to give out her age though lol! Since our dear Mom is sick these past 2 days we decided to make it a simple birthday only. Actually Redge always wanted her birthday like this – peaceful and quiet. She didn’t want appointments and scheduled activities on her birthday.

Bestfriend Jen was the only visitor because Jen is like a family to us, not really a visitor. We grew up like sisters having known her since we’re in sophomore in high school. She brought chocolate cake and we just cooked pancit canton and Jen’s favorite crispy fried chicken. As always we chatted and laughed like in the old days but now blogging is our main course of the day as we’re all hookup with blogging now.

Ruthie Pie is 11 Now!

>> Monday, August 18, 2008

Ruth is 11 years old now and to celebrate her birthday I took my 3 kids in the mall. They’ve been requesting that all they want is to have some nice time in Tom’s World and they want to go around the mall with me. Since my Mom and Redge can’t go with us as Mom was sick we planned to just buy foods and celebrate her birthday in our house.

I let them play at their favorite arcade store and shop at Ever for their clothes and shoes. It’s been my habit that if one of my kids is celebrating a birthday all of them will also have new clothes or things, of course the celebrant gets more. They were beaming with excitement and was tired enough when they finished gaming, our last games was basketball and we all played lol!

Mom was better when we get back and she ate with us on Ruth’s birthday celebration. I didn’t cook any; we just bought all our foods – cakes, pizza, ice cream and chicken. Important thing is Mom is well now and my kids were very happy especially Ruth who kissed me and thanked me for a HAPPY birthday!

Mom Was Sick

>> Sunday, August 17, 2008

My Mom was sick and feeling so weak, we arrived home from church sensing that something was not normal to her. Mom’s feeling cold and lacks appetite. We would ask her what she wants to eat then after tasting the food she will lose the appetite to continue eating it. We prayed for Mom’s recovery and Redge asked me to accompany her in caring for Mom as she can’t carry her by herself only.

Mom can’t stand and walk to the bathroom by herself I need to almost carry her. That makes Mom sad because she hates the feeling that she’s weak. Anyway I just massaged her back after and told her to try to get some sleep so her body can recover fast. I stayed in their room the whole night. No need to hurry up as its holiday tomorrow. Hope Mom will get better tomorrow.
