:Food Friday - Champorado

After what happened to our town after storm 'Ondoy' I cooked my kids' favorite to make it a little different from what we ate when our house was flooded up to neck level with water. We didn't have so much choice when we cooked upstairs in our terrace. On the first day we only had rice cakes, water and hot drinks. On second day we were able to get our cooker downstairs when it's safe to go down and we had noodles, pancit canton and fried eggs. On the third day when I got hold of my gas range and there's no more flood I promised my kids that I'll prepare their favorite food. They love it more when it's raining lol! I ate this one with dried fish, yummy :-)

Brings Back the Beautiful Smile

I’ve been planning to visit my dentist and have a complete checkup of all teeth that needed laser treatment. Now that the storm has impeded my appointment I’m thinking if I should have it treated individually through laser pasta or have the newest technology available now which introduces implanting teeth like dental implants Plano. I’m thinking about it seriously as I’ve seen my SIL undergone such procedure and now you’ll think her complete dental is natural. It really looks natural as all teeth were implanted although it’s a bit expensive. She came home just to have the procedure because it’s cheaper here than in G.B. The results are really excellent and now she can flaunt her beautiful smile again.

This is a shot from Josh' educational tour to Philippine Airforce Museum which also gave me hundreds of interesting shots like this one which shows some of the airforce activities. This painting was done several years ago gauging from the look of the painting and how the museum present it. Everything that's been shown in the airforce museum is assumed to be old collections.

Women's Sweaters

If there’s anything that I always carry on a cold or rainy day it’s my jacket or sweater. I easily get cold when wet or when I’m exposed to very cold weather. Sometimes I chill at night in my worst exposure so every time I go out for work or dinner I always remember to bring a pair of women's sweaters to protect me from whatever weather I may happen to encounter.

I have about more than half a dozen kind of sweaters and jackets because when you’re working in an office you’ll have to make sure that your sweater matches your uniform or office attire. Well in most of the offices uniform comes with vest so they don’t have to worry about getting cold, we all know that some offices really maintain cold office temperature..

Well now that I wasn’t anymore working in office I want some new pretty sweaters to wear on different occasions. Being a work-at-home Mom demands a lot of time and frequent visits to school I was just glad to find some of the Coldwater Creek collection of womens sweaters, cardigans, and some other apparel. Aside from that they also have accessories for those who want to put some fashion in their clothing.

:Food Friday - Pianono

Just posted my favorite bread in every bakeshop I happen to pass by, it's the old good 'pianono' (have I spelled it correctly?). Just can't resist this type of baked goodies and it's been my favorite since I was a child. During those days there's only one flavor and color and that's the creamy colored pianono. Now the bakeshop near us have 4 flavors, the original creamy one which is supposed to be marble, then they have ube, mocca and choco flavors. I love all except ube! In contrary Josh loves ube! This one in the pic is really yummy and tastes like cake, know what? it's only PhP3.00 per piece!!!

I’ve had many work experiences as I had around six jobs which I stayed in a company for a year and more. House Repairs

I’ve been busy the whole day monitoring the repair of our room. Our house which was constructed three decades ago is showing signs of its age and needs some renovation on some parts. I believe old houses should really be maintained properly to restore its old grandeur. I’m glad that its hubby’s brother who’s doing the repairs so I don’t have to worry about having strangers in our house. Mom is not so keen on having strangers working in our house so we really choose who’s going to work for us. My brother when he’s doing the repairs for our house assigns same people so my Mom would not feel awkward.

Hazardous to Health

I didn’t know until last two years that asbestos was found to be a hazard and not anymore the miracle mineral that it used to be. I’ve known this mineral has been used in industries and buildings for many wonderful reasons. Asbestos diminish heat that’s why even residential houses and workplaces use this to minimize the use of air conditioners.

Who would ever think in the past that this miracle mineral would cause too much harm to human beings as exposure to this mineral would cause sickness like lung cancer and mesothelioma. I’ve read news about people who worked in industries who used asbestos and I sympathize with them as exposure to asbestos caused them sickness that will take their lives eventually. I just hope that those industries they worked for will help them in anyway they can.

This is a shot from our head office christmas party last year where different wine was given to us by our suppliers and employers for inclusion in our raffle draw, it's not a big party as it's only for us. We had the grand party in one of the famous restaurant in the area. You can see different gift presentation of wine here, two of the bottles were wrap with blue ribbon while the nearest bottle was wrapped in a basket.
